Never owned a BMW I have had excellent experiences with Yamaha and Kawasaki so don’t plan on getting a different mfg bike

I have an all-Japanese machine policy, and am extremely happy with my 28 year-old Suzuki Bandit 600, which works every time.
I understand that BMW bikes are more complicated and modern than many Japanese bikes, but to fall significantly behind 100 year-old H-D tech for reliability is shameful.

I bought my first BMW bike a few months ago. A used 2006 F800s. Had never ridden one before and it's an acquired taste - quite unlike anything I've ridden before and I've been riding 20 odd years (mainly on Kawasaki, Honda, Triumph, Royal Enfield). So far so good though, seems quite robust and for a 2006 bike it doesn't have a spot of rust, starts on the button and just works.

My 2018 bmw r1200gsa rallye te is currently in limp mode, once it’s fixed I’m looking at getting a zzr 1400 performance sport, I’ll get the last of them so fairly new, I think I’m done then, European bikes are not reliable, I knew this when I bought the bmw but it seduced me against my better judgement, I don’t want to be back and forth the dealer every other month so I’m going back to Japanese.

Interesting video, i have owned BMWS since the 80s and have a R1250RS now. Have never experienced any reliability problems, my only gripe with BMW was when I ordered my R1220RS in April 2019, i did not get it till Sept 2019 as they stripped all the 1250 engines to go into the GS’s. I also have an S plate 3 Series Car, i agree that the new cars are not great. I drove the modern 328 and hated it, it had no soul and felt plasticky.

BMW are unreliable, but so are KTM and Ducati, and they all charge premium prices. KTM and Ducati service is utterly shocking. My mate broke his key in his scrambler, he had to take it to a main dealer because it needed a new barrel and a key....they had no interest in fixing it, it took weeks. He now has it MOT'd at Honda and they do his repairs etc. BMW are now doing some beautiful bikes but they're not race proven (supposedly MOTOGP in 2027), but i think i'll stick with my Japanese bikes. Fast, bullet proof, confidence inspiring and they provide me with reassurance that im not been taken for a mug.

Of all the motorcycles I've owned(42 lifetime), i have only owned one BMW, which was a new leftover 1988 R100RT. The first problem was the gas cap wouldn't seal and would spray gas in your face. the speedometer and tachometer only worked part time and when they did work. the needles were all over the place. Came out of the house one morning to find all the green goo from the rear shock on the floor. I will say the motor was good(boxer twin) though. My thought was keep the motor and throw the rest of the bike away. That was only one year of ownership. Never again.

BMW will be cutting down on quality since we blew up Nord Stream. Their gas is 4x more expensive now so like any manufacturing business they'll have to balance the books. Secondly, yes they've always been overpriced to take money off the latter middle-aged fellas who have greater disposable income. Thats been their business model for some time.

I've never owned one. I have considered one. The Hicky race bike is gorgeous. However, before I buy one, I always do my research. This isn't just a quick google search. This is asking mechanics,as well as reviews , showrooms of mixed brands, read ups, and this is what I got from my own research.
    Fast and fun.
    Sr looks great.
I don't like the big boxer type engines on some models.
    Expense.
    Reliability.
I ride Kwaks now. This is because Kawasaki has such a variety, affordable bikes, great looking bikes..
I mainly rode Honda previously. However, I have rode and owned other brand names.
BTW, Chinese bikes are not my cup of tea....however, Kawasaki and Yamaha have been working with them, so they are getting better.. So who knows in the future???
It all depends on what you're looking for...

OMG this is a weird idea of content, you have no experience, and are making stuff up, BMW have a rep for reliability and hold their value against other manufacturers, this might not be tune but that what most folks think, all news bike are complex.

Waist of time. You never rode one so you know nothing about it. Chat GTP to judge ath. You must have lost your mind! … Stick to Kawasaki and what you know …

(Waste)I have to disagree with your comment, just to be clear. Are you saying that you're not allowed an opinion on any given subject unless you have personally owned it or been involved?
Can you please enlighten me on your experience of BMW, and tell me how great the bike is, I would love to hear your experience as a counterargument..

He was very clear about it, and is important to acknowledge.
With the irony being that it's just as hard to give an opinion as an owner that isn't filtered through layers of sunk cost fallacy. _Greatest thing ever cus cost me 20 grand._
