Engine oil and transmission oil are the same thing on this bike as they are shared. As long as you use the correct motor oil and filter it won't affect your warranty to change it yourself. I find the oil changes on my S1000rr to be very easy to do unlike some other bikes. I only had the break in service done at dealer and did everything else myself. Love the Taylor made exhaust, I might get it as well.

Mine supposedly had the traylor exhaust the muffler went bad I guess. He gave it to me in a box .I installed it and put a graves muffler on it looks great I'm glad I service mine myself, Its easy to work on.I put chain adjusters on mine .Along with other goodies I had to put radiator guards on it .Thought the the lack of protection in front of the oil cooler and radiator was the only flaw. I recommend getting those immediately. Hope you are still riding the 1299

One day, I hope to purchase a brand new s1000rr. I just purchased my first liter bike. An 08 R1 with only 2176 mi. Had to jump on that deal. Traded in my 06 636 for 4k trade value and paid $3500 cash on top but i think it was worth it for a pretty much brand new barely ridden bike. Also dealer gave me brand new Q3s with the purchase.

My current bike is a 2017 Ducati Panigale 1299S. I have done a "Things you must know video" on the CBR and a long term review, just search through my older vids. • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  Год назад +2

If I’m not mistaken, that was the first year of the S1000RR. 18K miles isn’t bad at all for a 12 year old bike. My 2014 model was bulletproof, and never gave me issues. I think the only thing I replaced was the battery. For the right price, it could be a great investment. I’ve owned Ducati’s since 2018, so my outlook on price is skewed lol. Either way, I don’t think you can go wrong. Make sure you check the frame for abnormalities, the bottom of the engine area for leaks, the front radiator for damage, and the front forks for leaks. I think you should put the year of your bike in the description. There were a lot of changes between the 2014 and now old 2015 model. The quickshifter works great on the 2015+ models, the seat is comfortable and it's a generally better bike to ride than the 2014.
When I watched this video and then saw your username, I first thought you were doing this because you wanted to rag on the BMW because you were a Honda guy.

      FirebladePilot
I love the look and the legend of Ducati's but the reality is that even from back in the days of the 851 and 888, I never found them a comfortable bike to ride for more than a couple of hours. Back then I was a Yamaha guy and loved my FZR1000-EXUP. It was as quick as the 888 but rideable for hours. Fast foward 20 years, compared to the rest of the supersports bikes I find S1000RR comfortable and very easy to ride.
I like your videos with the couple of caveats I mentioned. Remember that someone 5 years from now will look at this already outdated video and think that it's about the current model. Put the model year in the title and mention it in the video but otherwise it's all good.
Ride, have fun, keep the rubber on the road and your ass off it!

This vid is from awhile ago. I do most of my own maintenance now. Cheers!

Slick mode DOES HAVE traction control abs and wheelie control...they are just less intrusive

The S1000RR was smooth controlled power. I liked it alot. The V4 though is a refined beast lol

The way the head lights are shaped is why i don't want the bike, I rather the r1 yamaha 2011 monster head lights,

I own a M5 F10 and was thinking about adding this to my Collection as my First Bike (I own a 2 stroke Yamaha) any Recommendations I’m 25 150lbs

It's a lot of power for a first street bike. With your experience on a 2 stroke though, you should be fine as long as you respect the power and have throttle control. I went from riding a CBR250 for 90 days, to riding a CBR1000RR with no issues. Good Luck!

I now own a 2017 Panigale 1299 S and a 2018 Panigale V4 Speciale. I sold it to buy the Ducatis. It was a great bike though and I would buy another one for the track!

Here in australia, for a 21 year old to get full coverage on the bike it will cost $3500+ for a 2015 s1000rr, and a second hand 2015 s1000rr cost from 17,000 to 23,000 aud. Bullshit if you ask me

Wow! That is pure craziness Coen! The monthly insurance payment is almost more than the bike payment! I feel bad for all my Aussie friends! Ouch! 🔥🔥🔥

So it was a TaylorMade exhaust. The guy that owned the company retired a year or 2 ago though. They are no longer being made.
