The LOSI Hammer Rey isn't perfect, but it looks might make you overlook any flaws. It's a basher but we feel this chases should be one of the most popular racing classes. Skip the desert runs and hit the local track, or make a track in the local empty lot. Let's go.

4 years later and still the same dude in the background talking. Love it!
I just picked one up, on sale for $299.
Same! Used code NCF24 to knock it down $45 more to $255. Couldnt beat it.

Nicely done! It looks great indeed!
Coming next to rooster rc? 😅
@@marcushaas44 😁☝🏻 maaaayybe…. I am not so into rc atm. priorityshift since I got a baby girl 😳
I agree
My main issue is that the other licensed U4 vehicles that Horizon has (Losi Lasernut, Axial Bomber) are all very different as far as size and electronics go. Idk if it’s just the racing size of me, but I’d like RC U4 vehicles to follow a specific class outline so that if you like them all up together they look like they belong.
Very true. But there are different classes on the real racing too.
@@vrcmag even just size wise they don’t look like they really belong together
Great test vid guys! I wish they would offer a kit version as a starting point for spec class. But awesome release for sure 👌
I have one and box stock it was almost impossible to drive. The steering is the worst ever, flat out useless. Please be clear regarding the fact that you have to spend some on parts from Vitavon or GPM to make the Hammer Rey driveable.
Not really true you can make them a lot better with some simple fixes like fixing the bump steer in the travel (you have to flatten out the angle of the tie rod to match the lower control arm, just put a couple spacers on the end closest to the tire) , tighten the bell crank and then lock the center and rear differentials with silicone ear plugs. Makes it way more predictable, crawls better and only really costs you the cost of ear plugs. The vitavon works the best but all the shit costs as much as the truck.
@@hotheadedfilmshhf6734 that is right. But I am pissed since Losi should have done all that and not trick people to pay for junk.
@@hotheadedfilmshhf6734 dan
The steering issue of this model is very bad. It is a combination of the bellcrank, all the links, a-arm, hubs and also the front diff making front end of the truck seriously unstable. All of it has be be replaced to make it a nice drive. But the stock servo works.
Not a fan. The Rock Rey was better in all aspects except scale looks. Would love an updated V2 of the Rock Rey🤷🏻♂️
Hard to say not a fan when they are basically the same. Just different
@@vrcmag Basically, yes.
But don't think this one will be as popular on the U4RC tracks as the RR was/is. But hey, that's just my opinion.. It definitely looks awesome 👍🏻
@@Mxoderberg I think this scale fits better on larger tracks.
I enjoy mine. Needs some tuning.
The body isn’t that hard to take off…about 12 screws and all easily accessible.
Yes the suspension needs some tuning and stance could be a bit wider…..but overall a cool rig
REEF 500 steering servo upgrade cures a lot of the handling issues.
how so? the torque steer is ridiculous on this thing!
@trentgalloway of the servo saver or the servo can’t hold the position it can cause oversteer.
@@vrcmag so how is the Reef 500 going to cure this?
I just got it for 300 from amain but then there coupon worked from there emails
I didn’t get it today. I got it when it came out 🥳
@@vrcmag😂
It’s not more popular because it sucks a big fat one. No power, doesn’t steer, doesn’t handle. Not without $$$$ in Vitavon parts
Vitavons rear sway bar is great for this truck. Rip the old one out and replace the fake plastic ones.
But I wish they have to speed transmission like Axial Yeti
