- If you've ever wanted to create an abstract art piece, here's a short tutorial to help get you started. All you're going to need is a canvas, some paint, a small roller and a pie server. Yes, you read that correctly, you will need to raid your kitchen and find that pie server utensil somewhere in the back of a drawer.
Now although this is a "renovation" channel, I've always felt that the way a room is furnished and decorated after the reno is as important as the reno itself. So from time to time I will drop in a few decor videos, as well as some art videos (as a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, I spend as much time working on a canvas as I do working on my house!)

I have been scouring youtube for exactly what you just did!!! After renovating my living room, I wanted to use the exact palette with house paint to design my own painting. What type of canvas did you use? Also...I’d never let you use my pie server! Your wife is accommodating/supportive! Amazing piece of art!
You can pick up these canvases at any art supply store. This one in particular is from Michaels. It’s more of a professional canvas at one and a half inches thick, but you can purchase less expensive canvases that are 3/4” thick.
And yes, I do have a patient wife. Most of the time. 😬
