• TEXTURED WALL ART | 3 ...
These 3 trendy abstract wall art DIY projects are low-budget and so easy to make (trust me - ANYONE can do them). Yet they look so minimalistic, modern, and high-end. No one will know you did them yourself.
Wall art can be so expensive, so I decided to try and do it myself. I was shocked at how good all of these turned out, and I honestly couldn’t wait to share them with you.
I watched and watched so many tutorials on plaster wall art DIY, and DIY textured wall art, and I came up with easy solutions to recreate them on a serious budget. I literally spend no more than $10 on all of these wall art DIYs.
Here’s what you will need for these 3 DIY wall art projects:
* Plaster (or you can also use joint compound)
* Canvas
* Mod podge (or white crafters glue, or even wood glue works)
* Cardboard
* Acrylic paint of choice
If you recreate these abstract art projects, make sure to let me know in the comment section below - I would love to know how they turned out.

Obsessed with the retro charm and flair of vintage poster art! 🎨 @vintageposterart #retroartwork
The best part of this video was the matching Mars!!
Right?!
The best part about this video is how insanely well your dog matched the last art piece display. Absolutely adorable! And I
loved all 3 pieces!
Yes! Hahaha thank you so much!! 💕💕💕
Hello I don't consider myself an artist, nor am I a diyer. But, you have inspired me to at least try numbers 1 and 3. I really think I can do this. Thank you for sharing your art. Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much!!! I'm so happy to hear I inspired you 🥰 And yes, you should absolutely try these out! 💞
Yes Hun,you can do it!!!
Being inspired I feel is how so many of us get started.
We are two! 😂
Great video and Great song choice aswell
now the dog was the prettiest 3D creature , nice work
everything is so aesthetically beige, even the pup!
Thank you so much 🤗💕
The cloth one I love
Glad you like it 🥰
These are all absolutely gorgeous - I was looking to buy an artwork to fill this big open wall space in the living room, but figured I can DIY something instead. That way I can get crafty, display something I’m proud of (assuming if it turns out well), and can save a lot of $$ too. Thinking of going either the second or third design😊
Honestly they are so easy to make. Especially the 3rd one. So I say go for it! 🤗💖
…also, is there a specific plaster you recommend?
On the third painting…do you think a spray bottle with the paint would have helped with better or, easier coverage?
Mon, I really enjoy your videos. I am a single, recently retired male who is in the process of downsizing from a rural medium sized house to a 2 bedroom condo in the city. I want to make the new space as "stylish" as possible on a budget and your videos stand out for me in the large sea of interior design RUclips videos. Thank you for your channel and hoping for much more inspiration in future.
I am so glad to hear you like my channel ☺️🤗 And I am super excited for your new space, and hope my videos will help you 💕
@@HomeByMon Yes, I am sure they will help :). I also am making an Ikea list of some of your suggestions for when I next get there (it is actually a 2 hour ferry and then 1 hour drive so not "convenient" but it is on the route to my new condo so all good. BTW are you ever going to do a Q&A.. I noticed your location says North Macedonia so am sure some viewers are interested in your life and country. I am curious as to how your English is so good since I don't think it is that common in Macedonia? But perhaps I am wrong:). Best regards from Canada
@@drdavebrooks The main reason why I started this channel is that Ikea is not a convenient ride for me too 😅 So when I go to Ikea I usually feel so overwhelmed. A list makes so much sense, I am doing the same thing 👍
And yes, I come from a small county in Europe, and trust me I am not confident about my English at all. Especially when I have to talk without my script. But I am getting there. Maybe I can do a Q&A in the future. I will think about it 😊
@@HomeByMon Your English is great :). Thanks again for the inspiration!
Too much beige
Great video! You've answered my questions about texturing, using plaster, and increased my interest in design. Looking for more of you... Cheers!!!😊
I am so happy you liked my video! 🥰 Thank you so much!
The 3 ideas were beautiful, simple but elegant.
MARS is the STAR OF THE SHOW 🌟 🤩 ⭐️
Thank you so much, I am so glad you like it! 🤗💕 Oh yes, Mars is the star indeed ☺️
So calming and inspiring,if your BF was watching hope he add new comb to his shopping list. Thanks for sharing.
Hahahaha he wasn't watching 🤣 He's getting one for Christmas 🤣
I've done a similar project to number 3 but on new canvases and the weight of the spackle makes the frame warp so it doesn't sit flat to the wall, using the back of an existing frame is so clever as it won't bend. Especially if you're sourcing old frames from thrift shops. It's more resourceful, cheaper AND more effective. I'm inspired to do more now :)
Thank you so much 🥰 I'm so glad I inspired you, at least a little bit 🤗
I’m so glad I found your tutorial. I love all three but the third one is my favourite!
I’ve made lots of these, but I’ve never added cardboard. I love it! ❤️
So glad you like it! 🥰
I am from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 Europe and I wonder what plaster is? Were do you use that normally for and where can I buy that?
@@CC-bw2rp Hello there 🙌 You would usually use plaster for filling small holes or gaps in walls. And you can buy it in any store that sells wall paint or home building stuff ☺️
Wow I love the beautifully textured wave made with the comb on the colored plaster ❣️
So happy to hear you like it! 🤗💕
the painting helps Mars to camouflage! so adorable!🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha yes!! 🙈🤣💕
The second and the third 😍 I showed my mom and we'll probably make them for our new home 💛
Omg I am so happy to hear you like them, and you'll try to recreate them with your mom 🥰💕 Please make sure to write an update of how they turned out!
#2- I’m not into neutral colors so much but I like this idea. I might try it using different colors & motifs of Indian sari fabrics I collect. I think it would look really cool!
Thank you. I loved them all. The fabric one was very clever. I also love how your cute coordinated dog posed perfectly at the end.
Aww 🥰 So glad you like it
The last and 1st project were my faves!
So glad you like them!! 🥰
I love all your projects and the last one was a classic absolutely beautiful with that adorable looking dog the blend was absolutely fabulous I love your work very creative I love to do plaster myself. Keep up the beautiful work.
Thank you so much! I am so happy to hear you like my projects 🤗 I encourage you to try it out, the process is a bit messy, but it is so worth it 😊
Hello Im trying to do similar projects to the ones from the video and I was wondering how I can make plaster by myself. Could You tell me which ingredients did you use?
My favorite is the last one ❤❤❤
Thanks for the ideas. The last was my favorite especially with the matching dog and vase.
So glad you like it 🤗💕
Thank you so much for your video.
So glad you like it 🤗
Beautiful…. All of them….and so calming!
Thank you so much! 🥰
My favourite is Mars with the most beautiful Bambi eyes!!!❤️
🥰💕
I love the second one with the canvas and cloth...im going to try that!!
Yes! You def should!
I love these ! You did a fantastic job! Inspired me to a create a big one like the 2nd one for my living room 👍🏻💕
So glad you like them!! 🥰💞
Thank you I’ve been trying to figure out away to do some texture paintings and you have gave me the best ideas for me to start and I have all the stuff
So happy you like them 🥰
Awe Mars loves it. It matches the dogs fur ❤
Yes 🥰💕
I enjoyed them all, but if I had to pick a favorite, I'd pick the last one on the MDF board.
Yaaay 🥰 So glad you liked it!
Would the MDF board be laminated or plain?
I thought that the last item you created was done on MDF board. That's what I was referencing.
Mine was laminated, but I think you can do it on plain too ☺️
Your videos are the perfect combination of relaxing and interesting 💜 You sound cheerful and friendly without the fake over excitement that many content creators do.
Thank you SO MUCH! Comments like this warm my heart 🤗💗
Everyone has a different style and personality. Some people are naturally outgoing and expressive with excitement. Other people are naturally reserved and focused. Some people are being fake. Some people are being 100% themselves. You get to choose which is which and support the one you prefer.
The cardboard will pop off she needs to use a stronger perminate glue
I'm 🤭hoping shes not entertaining when it happens
It will happen...
She could have used the plaster directly on the canvas
I do it works out better
You just build it up
I also mixed the glue directly into the plaster
IT HOLD ON BETTER

@@doratiscareno5856 Thank you for the tips, will try them out for sure 😊💕
Difficult to say which one is my fav. They’re so good! Thanks
So happy to hear you like them all! 🥰
My Favorite is No. 2
I will try it for my Apartment.
Wow that fabric piece is gorgeous I love it, I may do something like this for my bedroom but on a larger scale. I actually liked it better before you painted it with plaster, I may have left it nd just painted it with a glossy see through paint of some sort
Wow! These came out beautifully. I’m especially in love with the fabric piece. 😍
So glad you like them! ☺️💕
@@HomeByMon what type of fabric did you use? I'm going to try #2 on a large canvas I rescued from my neighbor. Large prints are upwards of $300.
@@mlwashington4118 Oh YES! Try it out 🥰🙌
I used cotton fabric, the one that's used for bedsheets. However, I think any fabric will work ☺️
So glad to find you! I was needing to create something for my living room that is more textured that colorful and I think these ideas are perfect. BTW I think they all are fantastic but my personal favorite would be #2.
Yaaay that's my favorite too 🥰
Mars killed it😘 so elegant
Thanks :)
What a masterpiece❤ Thank you for inspiring us. Gonna try them all soon.
So glad you like it 🥰
Well, of course your would have a beige/black/white color-coordinated pup, too. Mars has the most beautiful big dark eyes. My favs were the 2nd and 3rd pieces. You have such clever ideas for wall art. I am re-doing my home and I'm so thankful for your IKEA ideas and these art projects. You've given me some really good cost-saving ideas. Thanks.
Hahahaha yes, Mars fits the color palette so good 🤣 It was not intentional, I promise 😅
And I am so glad you liked my art DIYs. I want to do a bigger version of the second one, since it turned out so good. It's my favorite one too 😊💕

Yes! Do it! 🤗
Yes, I just moved in to a new place and have a bare wall. It’s so hard to choose something, so I will be making a piece of my own using your techniques 😁
@@lind4chul4 Just go for it. Even if you don't like the results you can just go over as many times as you want ☺️
These were all great! I couldn’t choose a favorite between the fabric and the last one. Both were amazing. Thanks for sharing!
So glad you like them! 🥰
What do you mean by “plaster”? Is it wall plaster that you get at the hardware store? A link would have been helpful.
@@missmayflower yes. Search for Plaster of Paris. I think I have links in the description box. 💕
It was Mars for me. I really loved all the projects.
Yaay 🥰🐶💕

Yeah, he sure did ☺️💕
LOVE this video...thank you for sharing!
So glad you like it!!
Thank you for sharing,I've been wanting to try out texured artwork I think this has been the best simple way to show someone how to quickly and easily create this type of art, building one's confidence and then taking it to the next level I love your style of teaching us your way by observing other artist how they do it and you devised your own method.Thsmk you for sharing,I'm so excited to do this.I came across an artist that explained using plaster that is used for tiles ,then your post came up and I'm glad I watched yours because I am inspired by you so much more. Not many people would share what you have ,in the way you have, real basic steps that creates cool abstract art.😀
Omg thank you so much for your kind comment 🥹💕 I really appreciate it
Love it girl you did it again. Your videos calm me lol. DIY favorite channel ❤ the fabric and the last one wow 🤩

Gorgeous canvas! Amazing creativity & talent 😍🤌
Hahahha 🤣 He didn't watched it! Mission successful 😅
Wow! It's such a simple yet elegant and unique piece of art and you don't have to be a great artist to create it! I do have one question: what else can I use instead of plaster?
Thank you so much! I am so gladd you like it 🤗💕
Instead of plaster you can use joint compound too.
Just discovered your account & l love your style and diy's! Looking forward to following you. Also, the one made with the little hair comb was my favorite! 👏🏻😍🙋🏼
Thank you so much 🥰 I am so happy you like it ☺️
Mars at the end 🥰
