NOTE: Sorry about the screen capture quality here guys, this isn't up to my normal quality. I don't know how my screen recorder settings got changed, but I didn't notice it until it was too late. I'll definitely make sure I double check that kind of stuff in the next videos.
I'm a professional photographer but came here to get S21 instructions. What's freaking incredible is that you're giving an in-depth camera tutorial on a cellphone which you normally only see when dealing with professional camera equipment. I sold all my gear a couple of years ago because it was too annoying to take places except for very specific uses with clients. I don't do that anymore and only take pics for myself but, I was still wanting something that was very portable with pro settings. I can't wait to use my new phone. Thanks for the tutorial.
I have used my S21 for snap shots and in my videos a couple times. One issue I have is why my standard photos are so over saturated. And way to change that
Question: how do you adjust the shutter speed for VIDEO, rather than photo? Slowing down the fps rate in video mode will make night video brighter. Anything shot down to around 1/20 fps at 1x magnification will not show star trails in still shots, and therefore should appear seemless as video to the human eye, BUT would be brighter than the naked eye view. This will make the video jumpy, yes, but for many nearly motionless veiws of stars, distant landscapes, dusk /dawn transitions, etc., that will be ok. When I try to change the shutter speed in Video mode, it defaults back to camera mode . Altermatively, is there a way to do a time lapse sequence with long exposure time, that can be stitched together into a video?
Hi! very useful video thanks. One Question. Nowadays the OneUI4.1 I think it is supposed to be able to use optical zoom in pro mode, can you give some tips about?
Hi Brent! Just wanted to say thanks for the great information as it helped me take photographs on my S21 Ultra for my Photography Class. Great work and keep them coming!
After smashing my S8 I just bought an S21 Ultra because it was $900 new. I couldn't justify the stupid price for a S22 Ultra so $900 seemed alright for a year old phone. I'm blown away by the camera features but I must admit I'm finding it difficult to work out the menu layout. Question, In any mode can the flash have exposure compensation like you get in a say a Canon external flash? Exposure compensation in flashes is mandatory for good low light pics otherwise as you probably know flash mostly ruins everything bar shadows in high contrast day shots. I'm looking but I can't see it. Perhaps it's emulated with HDR switched on.
Oh, idk. That's one thing I've never really messed with on phones. Usually when I need a flash I'll use my lume cubes and then open up pro mode and go from there.
Sir i was looking for the video and came here please compare it with the iphone 13 pro especially the ultra wide or they provide telephoto in professional or manual mode thankyou and i have subscribed.
Hey guys, my main IG account got compromised and disabled, so if you wanna show some love and check out my new main account @hallofbirds, that would be awesome. Thanks for all the support here on YT and over on Instagram, it really means a lot.
Brent, I got a S21 ultra, what do you recommend if I want to take quick photos and save in raw + jpeg without using pro mode like iphone do ? Is possible to do that in Samsung native cameras? I don't know why Samsung let Raw mode only in pro mode :(. Nice video by the way
Yeah, unfortunately you can only get raw images from pro mode, but you can go into pro mode and just turn on the auto iso, shutter, and focus, and then it will pretty much be like taking a photo in regular mode, just without the hdr and in-phone processing.
Hi Brent - I have a Note 20 Ultra 5G - does it not have the Ultra Wide lens in the Pro Mode? I do not see it if so. Enjoyed your video - everything else seemed to be the same with my phone. Thank you.
I don't know, I don't have a note 20. I do know that it was only like a week ago or so that I got the update for my S20 ultra that gave access to the wide angle in pro mode. It might depend on your carrier as to if or when you'll get the update.
I'm working on it, just waiting on the moon phase to be where I need it for the shots. I can't make a "best phone for astro" though, because I' only have the Samsung, so I couldn't say how any others stack up. I can only videos on what I have.
I'll tell ya from experience I just picked a S21 Ultra after switching from an IPhone 12 Promax and the difference is amazing. The Ultra is miles ahead of the 12 Promax and if Samsung keeps up this quality I'll never go back to an IPhone
Watching this again on my Galaxy Note 22 Ultra (yeah I called it that, come fight me) and wondering when Brent is gonna drop his annual samsung phone 20XX pro mode and how to use it.
It ok and you being lazy. You can tell it is AI generated. It's like Michael Bay produced CGI vs Guillermo del Toro produced special make up. You can tell the cheesy special effects difference
I use the 3rd party app because it has more features, like frame rates and bit rate, but I messed this one up since it was my wife's phone and I just installed the app in a hurry and forgot to change the settings. I thought about deleting the whole video, but I just don't have time to redo it right now, and most people either don't mind or are willing to deal with it to get the info they want. The joys of being a RUclipsr...I just decided to leave it up and take the hit from people who notice and comment, then move on and try to do better next time.
I don't understand why Samsung is refusing to add all cameras into PRO mode. Since you only have main and ultra wide in PRO mode, you are able to use only 50% of cameras. That's really lame.
Yeah I know, but the one I use has more control custom frame rates and such, and I just didn't realized my settings got changed somehow. It happens sometimes when I'm trying to do too much at once for filming videos. Sorry.
You shouldn't record if you're gonna be depressed when doing so. Your personality/attitude shift was so stark when you switched to the studio. Instant turn off.
You totally lost my interest when you stopped showing the actual screen to the phone, I'm new and the reason I picked this video was to watch you "teach" how to use the phone
Sorry it didn't help you. I didn't make it to be a full on masterclass in how to use the phone though. It was more of an overview on the camera's pro mode. Still though, I am sorry that it didn't give you the info you needed and I hope you find right video you're looking for out there.

what do you use(recommend) to screen record on the s21 Ultra?
There's a native screen recorder which should give you better results.
@@rogue21990 the native one is the best
hi samsung has added pro mode for the 3x and 10x telephoto lens using the expert raw app that you can find on the galaxy store

Hey thanks man, I appreciate the kind words, and I'm glad the video helped!
Great video ❤ , There is a screen recorder built into the phone,It is better than the apps on Google Play
Yup. It took me awhile took figure that out myself back when I had my S10.
Sees AOT as wallpaper

Thank you young man appreciate all the great instruction have a pleasant weekend
Thank you. I am about to order the phone. I live on a lake in the burbs of Detroit. Again thanks.
Sweet shots! Great video!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Great video brother but why don't you use the built-in screen recorder for future video it's much better than what you're using in this video

Your videos are so detailed!!! I'm learning a ton!! Fantastic channel, thank you!
Thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it!
What kind of tripod Sir would you suggest for S21Ultra5G?
What tripod do you use. Please give me link to the trip lulu recommend.
Your videos are so informative. Will you have one like this that's in depth for the S22 since they changed a few things?
Thanks Kathleen, I'm glad they're helping! I'm not sure if I'm going to do that one. I might though.
Thanks, love your content

You can adjust the shutter in the video pro mode, but it only goes down to 1/30 sec.
Great video - Thank you. Did I miss something or was there no settings for adjusting F-Stop?
Thanks man, I'm glad it helped! Nope, you didn't miss anything. The aperture is fixed in that phone.

Have you figured out how to use 108MP sensor in pro mode? Or 100x zoom sensor? 🤔
There's nothing to figure out, Samsung won't enable those features in pro mode. 😒
@@BrentHall ikr. Such a waste 🤦♂️ I still don't understand why 🤔 people would benefit so much more from the camera.

S21 series got rid of SD card support but the s21 ultra has spen support so you can use the spen on the s21 ultra

Can I use the S21 for product photography? Looking to take some white background photos for use on a new website. Thanks
I don't see why not. Lighting is key for product photography. Good lighting will help more than anything else.

Is the product good for an Samsung S21?
You mean iso iso your amplifying the output power from the sensor. Not increasing the sensitivity
5:01 no SD slot. You are stuck with the memory you bought so that why I got the S22U with 1tb

can i do such a beauty photo like water fall on my S9 garbage phone ? :D
For the first time.

Even if I keep it in 16:9 in pro mode, the raw image will be saved in 4:3 anyway :-)
