  • Hello guys, so I just wanted to share my prepoo with you all. I will be using molasses (unsulfured blackstrap molasses) as a prepoo on my hair. As a make more homemade hair treatment with my molasses, I will share it with you all. Leave your feedback down below and let me know your thoughts.
    I let the Molasses hair treatment in my hair for total of 45 minutes (30 minutes under the drier and 15 minutes without heat) I then proceeded to wash it out by doing a co-wash with my VO5 moisture milk conditioner.

    Hello Aquariouschic, this is a great informative video but just wanted to give you some further advice (I'm a nutritionist). You don't have to put the molasses all over your hair, the scalp is the only place you need to focus on - hair shafts are all you need to worry about. If you heat the molasses (to a nice warm temperature you're comfortable with, not overly hot so you don't burn your scalp) and then wrap your head, it stimulates the effects of the molasses on your hair shafts even more.
    One more important thing, when you wash it out, please, please don't use a normal store brand shampoo, because you're just putting all the chemicals you took off of your scalp, back in. Apple cider vinegar with a shot of lemon juice (just enough to mask the odour of the cider vinegar) will work great and it's great for hair too. Again great video and glad to see more beautiful ladies going natural, so much healthier for you.

    After you add it on your hair, put any oil of your choice because it makes your hair hard. Make sure you use a conditioner that goes with your hair and detangles it if not you will not be able to detangle.

    I find that wrapping my head in saran wrap limits the dripping and adds to the heat. Also, you can try using those plastic dispenser bottles (they are the smaller versions of the red and yellow bottles you see for ketchup and mustard) to apply the BSM. It's a lot neater.

    I use to use it like 2 years ago, I ran out of the molasses and didnt buy a replacement. And now that I am using more home-made hair treatments, I started using the molasses again because I love the way it makes my hair feel. I have mixed it in different oils, conditioners, aloe vera, avocados, glycerins and things like that. Hope this helps. :-D

  • @goodgirlsguide
    @goodgirlsguide 6 лет назад +6

    Funnily enough - I applied it to my scalp for the first time last night too, mixed with some garlic granules and a little water. Hoping it will relieve an itchy scalp. Also added 3/4 of a teaspoon to my hot chocolate as it always helps me have a beautiful sleep. Even had pleasant dreams. Too much though can make the digestive system 'overactive'. :)
