Thanks for the excellent video. I definitely agree it needs a motorized tilt control to avoid reflections. Facial recognition would be a big plus as at present it focuses on the first face it sees regardless of who is speaking. At times it seems to search aimlessly around the room to find the primary voice source. Keep up the good work.
Good video. I was at a friend's for dinner and everyone there was having a good time with it. Movement doesn't bother me at all, but the ability to turn it off can come in handy at times. I am definitely going to get one. Love the sound, and the screen. Thank you for the great information.
Purchased and returned the echo 10. Will stick with my echo 8. Little pricey for only movement and 2inch larger screen. The camera using as security was useless in low lighting. I could not see much improvement of sound.
Maybe if it was 149.00 I might have consider keeping it. I see as of today they lowered price to 204.00. Very nice demonstration video.
By the time it loads my ring doorbell I’ve opened the door. The low light is a big issue too

Good video Craig. I agree with your assessment. The only thing that does not bother me is the screen interface. I notice that is a big pet peeve of yours. But as I have said in previous comments I prefer to use my voice to get things happening. I haven’t purchased one yet. I am waiting till it does go on sale for less than $200. Funny it is on sale today, not sure how long it will be. It is currently $209.99 $40 less than normal. But that still isn’t cheap enough for me. However, my Mom bought it at regular price three days ago. I was telling her about the movement the device has. She asked what the price was and when I told her, it didn’t scare her. She said I want one. Color me surprised, so I logged in on her iPad and ordered it for her (with her consent). She ordered the Black one and It will arrive on Tuesday. Either there is a shortage of materials or Amazon cannot keep up with demand. It usually doesn’t take more than 2 days for an item made by Amazon to be delivered. So I was shocked she won’t get it till Tuesday. The White one won’t be back in stock until the end of May. I was going to wait anyway. LOL! I’ll just play with my Mom’s in the meantime.
Wonderful review. Have an Echo Show 8 in kitchen. Will wait for next generation of the moving 10, at least.

Very nice review. I appreciate the timeline in the description for later use. The low-light camera issue is a real problem. Still no Zoom support (yet) unlike the Echo Show 8
Thank you Frank. Glad the chapters are useful. I put them low in the description since the chapters and title can be accessed by hovering over the bar at the bottom of the screen. It pulls the chapter information from the description and uses it for the video.
My favorite feature is the ability to see the front door at any time. Ring let’s me talk and see to the front door while I am in the back of the house. So cool. Love that feature.
Hey Craig I need help I have a lot of Alexa's in my house and I set my alarm on one then my family also uses alexa so the alarm rings on all the devices how do I stop if from alarming from all the devices?
Love it got to get me one been waiting and love that it can sense you when you come in the room to turn on lights now without echo Ford Sensor!!!
It is already on sale for 209 and I bet it will sit at that price a lot going forward which makes it more tempting for people. I have had mine since release day and so far I do like it a lot. I bought it more for the sound than the movement. It was an upgrade from the original show. The low light issues are annoying even if they could just have it base it off of your voice direction would be better than it not moving at all when in low light. I also agree the software could use another upgrade. Which such a big screen we should be able to have more options like allowing us to leave the calendar up on one side etc. Otherwise, I really like it.
They could put a small light on the far left to give you enough light to see you when it’s dark It would not cost that much and you could have it turn off when not needed.

Hi, Craig, great video. I don't like the movement on Echo Show 10, but I like the big screen, my son just bought me two Echos, one is 5 and the other one is 8, I am very happy with both, I don't need a huge Echo which occupies so much space. Thanks for the video.

it is a very nice upgrade on an 8, but no "Pair Amazon Echo Remote" option :(
Not to be off topic but why have you never discussed yolink products? We watch alot of home automation youtubers and no one is talking about them. We have used them with our alexa and they have worked amazing so far. The door sensors, motion sensors, and wall switches all work with alexa routines. They have many products but just wonder if they are a new up and coming product. Love the channel. 😊
I really like the pan but I am disappointed there is no motorized tilt. I also was expecting they would’ve come up with something for screen customization. I would like to use a video call feature but at least on otherEcho show products you were limited to Echo to Echo or Skype to echo. It doesn’t seem there’s a lot of people using Skype and people don’t necessarily have or intended to get echo. I would like to see google duo. Or whatsapp. Or something like this that people actually use.

Disappointed the screen resolution is not better. That's a step back from the Fire HD 10 tablets. Interesting gizmo, but I don't really have a need, especially at that price. Thanks Craig.
Motion is buggy it randomly swivels when I haven’t moved and is off center to the left when it’s idle with me facing it while sitting. I agree with you on the tilt when using as security cam to bad they limited it. The device is pricey but just the speaker alone you’d pay around $100 for a stand-alone like my JBL Flip. The sound is pretty good for music the microphone stinks for video recording not certain about calls haven’t tested.

I think not having the up/down tilt and the night time motion detection is a big negative. Also, why they have no recording playback is mind boggling. It’s an opportunity to sell a cloud subscriptions like the ring cloud and it would be a great thing for home security. I hope that’s just a software thing and will be added in the future.
First I would appreciate if you teach us how to use the motion sensing in a routine. It is a great speaker when you pair it with the echo Studioit's super for people who can't see well who use Kindle because whole time the whole time it's reading it shows the book name its reading. But the camera is useless in lower light. I think you've covered everything still well and you did an excellent video. You should get five stars. And if you are a restaurant you should get this Duncan Hines seal approval. You're too young to know that one. Google it lol. You safe don't let those kids overrun you.
The movement only works once & at the top of the screen motion disabled, if this persists unplug & start again

The screen saver is from the latest Mac OS. It’s under the screen savers. It runs the effect over your background picture.

I bought a echo show 10 on Black Friday for 169.00. Yay. I had Amazon points and got it for free! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
My question is how many people actually use the echos for video calls? I never have. When I want to do a video, I’m using my tv or computer. Just can’t see the point of having something follow me around the room. Now I’m sure some people will use video calling but it seems like wasted money to me.

I use video calling a lot. I have family who have Echo Shows in different States and Countries. This is an easy way to communicate.
I'd not realised that you could use this device as a motion sensor, that's a good utility to have
It is a very cool feature and smart of them to use it for motion. If it is just sitting there with a camera, put it to use.
Love the movement. Needs to be pushed further.
Definitely does need to be utilized more.
My main dislike is the fact they all come with white plugs even if you get the charcoal color. But the echo show 8 comes with a 30w black square brick power cable. Just seems like Amazon was being cheap.. I am using my show 8 power cord cause it matches. What do you think?

I turned the movement off. Just saying it’s not needed. I use the cooking recipes feature in the kitchen. I may turn the motion back on but right now it’s too weird. But I love the screen. I love the photo show feature. So yeah I am addicted and I have not used the video phone call feature yet.
For years Amazon has forced "try this, try that" on us causing heads to explode (see Paul Hibbert) including me. Well they not only refuse to listen to us, their customers, they doubled down with "alexa for your day" and brought that garbage along with some static backgrounds to the show 8 and we have zero control over it. There is a reason that it's already on sale, few folks are buying it. I paid $59 + tax for my show 8. No way 2" and the follow feature is worth the price difference. I love all my non screen echos but the shows need a serious overhaul. Let us pin shortcuts to the home screen, Let us turn everything off if we wish. If Google added sensors and different wake words I might just jump ship.
I disagree previous models have gone on sale fairly quickly after coming out. I think if in fact few people are buying it is because of the price. But if that truly were the case then they would have a warehouse full of them and it wouldn’t take as long to ship. The White one won’t be available until May 30th. So it sounds like it is on back order.
On my Echo Show 8. I turned off all the options under Home Content as well as turned off Continuous Rotation. After doing this I see nothing but the time and temperature and the pictures I chose to see.
Something else you might find interesting, I discovered (by accident) that you can have a slideshow on your Echo Show. Not sure how long this has been available, but all you have to say is “Alexa, show my photos”. It will begin a slideshow of all of your Amazon Photos with nothing else on the screen. It will stop if you ask it to turn on a smart device or say go home or some other interruption like someone Dropping in on you or calling you. Otherwise it continues to cycle through your photos. So no “things to try”, etc.. I also don’t know if this works with Facebook photo albums.
@@4daluvofnikki If you look at the more expensive models like the Echo studio you will notice that it took a long time for it to go on sale.
Lack of inventory in this time of covid is no indication of demand or sales. I have had inventory problems with many vendors that I work with.
As far as turning off options just to avoid something that should not be there is ridiculous. We should not have to limit our enjoyment of a product because some nitwit decided to force something on us.
The photo slide show you mentioned is cool and something that I have not seen mentioned anywhere else.

It's interesting that we tend to overlook the fact "that with more technology we lose more of our freedom's!" Both within our homes and out in the public sector! What do we want "to be in control of the individual or self control"? More is less and less is more! Yes, technology can be good but it also is damning! Who is watching the Watcher's?

If they disable the Alexa for your day i would consider buying one . I have the show 8 and was great until the update and you cannot turn off the Alexa for your day which totally ruins the experience . So it has gone into the shed and have gone to the google nub 10

My Echo Shows are useless to me until I can customize the Home Screen with controls
Not only does the Show 10 not recognize you if you have a hat on, it calls the police if you're black.

What do you mean? I own previous Echo Shows and I can view my Ring doorbell live feed. In fact it automatically comes up when someone rings the Doorbell. So I would bet the same would apply with this newer device. Has your experience been different? Does it not work with the Echo Show 10?

@@mysterious8058 yes! I meant use it as a ring indoor camera, and have it connected to your ring app? you know like how nest hubs can be used as a nest cam.
Zoom doesn't work on the Show 10, but works as advertised on the Show 8.

Yes moving around in the dark ,… not ideal . Sometimes you would just like to go in the kitchen and get a drink in the middle of the night , to then look over and find a camera just silently following your every move... Kinda creepy

The follow feature is ridiculous and doesnt work properly. I turned it off. The screen defaults to garbage you didnt ask for want or need. We have to request things 3x to get Alexa to cooperate. Dont waste your money.
