Video started out strong, but then you deviated into tiling windows managers (which is also what I like but has not much to do with the laptop). Loved the first part! 🙂
Hei, this is cool as I also got one of these but haven't seen many other long time reviews so far on here. I hope they get more traction because it's an amazing product, at least for me. The money you pay actually gets a competitively performant and solid laptop One thing about the ports issues: there is very clear docs about where it was a technical issue before Mass Production, which is also why they got delayed. It's a bug which isn't on Intel FW laptops, unfortunately the HDMI will probably be fixed through firmware, but the USB C can only be used at full capability in the two back ports (e.g. for DP iirc btw I use arch and got the blank keys for touch typing 😂 P.S. I got the 6845 or whatever the lower CPU is called, so the battery is a bit small for me (still decent battery life tho) but smt cool is I could always upgrade the battery to the bigger 60ish Watts one in the future
Is there going to be a follow up to this maybe going into depth about the dot files or more game experimentation on different DE? I read somewhere that KDE has the most inherent gaming oriented features like VRR support and HDR support if you're into that. Wayland also causes a lot of frickery and valve recently opted to dump a bunch of money or time into its development
The CAD model and most of the schematics are available. If you are willing to sign an NDA, all of the schematics are freely available. The only parts not free and open source are the parts made by other manufacturers.
That one is not available at all anymore. They had a to low yield of acceptable ones, so they opted to sell the available ones with new ones and afair they run out.

The way you have Hyprland setup is pretty sweet. If you haven't already, you should do a video with your setup and how you configured everything.

3:2 14'2 or 14'5 and I would be so happy
Who's Hyprland config is that? and what is that login manager? I've never seen one like that customized like that
same! curious about the login manager
On Do it yourself Laptop install do it yourself Linux like LFS or Gentoo😂😂
Not much free/open source about this laptop, but it's easily repairable! I hate my Thinkpad, even the stinkin' WLAN adapter is soldered.

Could you please share information about your Arch install? You've got some cool things there! Thanks!
Man, these laptops are so dope. If I ever get one, I'd probably install Pop!_OS on it. Thanks for sharing!
I wish Framework Laptop 13 have AMD Ryzen 9 and Snapdragon X Elite mainboard. And have batteries as 90wH capacity, touchscreens.
90wH capacity in a 13" laptop? lol
But yeah, I'm also waiting for ARM/RISC-V, which might be a while..
Its not weird, its Complete DIY
Where did find the clear bezel?
Sadly it's only available with a new laptop purchase.
