No. Windows 11 has far too much security stuff to ever reach parity with Windows 10. This operating system is absolutely paranoid, yet exposes all your data to the entire inflamatory multiverse.
I am still proudly running the 5800X3D on a B550 Motherboard! (I mainly play Starcraft II at 4K) But I can't bring myself to upgrade! It has been an insane value!
We haven't seen anything to think that the 3000 series is positively affected but we only test with 14-16 games...it could very well be there are some cases but if that was the case I'm guessing AMD would have disclosed that in their blog posts.
Titan RTX isn't too bad either. Sure it was waay overpriced for 20% more performance and 13GB more VRAM than the 2080TI but it still matches the 3080/4070 in raster performance when overclocked and probably the upcoming RTX 5060 as well while still having twice the VRAM.

there is bad and good installs of the new update, i know users who got an avg of 9-11% performance gain on their 5600x/5800 non 3D. i got it my self with my 5800H on a laptop. in lords of the fallen my fps jumped from 93 to around 115 in the exact same spot.
Its really random. No idea why there's such a huge variance from one user to another but it could also be some folks were already behind on updates since in order to get access to the Optional Update, you needed the latest Required Updates be installed as well.
I don't really understand why people say this, Personally, I think Starfield is BGS best game yet, it's not perfect, but it's far better than reviews would lead me to believe. I've put almost 800 hours into it and I still feel like it has a lot to offer me.
I thought this would be relevant to me. Still on Win 10, Ryzen 7 3700X carried hard by my Radeon 7900XT which replaced my RX580 8GB 😂 and honestly the upgrades are due but I'm not playing anything new enough to justify it, not even VR. Side note, I have 48GB of RAM... don't ask, it just happened.
Before everyone comments, please remember at 1440+ you won't notice anywhere near the same performance uplift, I know, I tested it before updating. 24h2 hopefully will have a better boost.

Get that GPU upgrade man and you will be golden. Unless you are using it for professional use and are maxing out capacity. No need to upgrade anything else. Enjoy what you've got!

Next it will still be a great choice for mid high budget gpu. Like xx70s nvidia . Maybe even ți for 4k. And last series when nvidia 6xxx comes out should be enough for a xx60 series type of gpu. Rainbow 6 might have been the outlier as they have recently removed vulkan. I've seen much worse performance on directx12 so I recommend directx11 for now. Using a 7800x3d and 7900xtx

BTW I Tried that technique when I upgraded to windows 11 a couple weeks ago. It would never load the new update. I had to download the ISO which fixed the issue and then after that I was able to get increment updates.

You could’ve noticed 24H2 May 2024, branch prefix "ge"; and could’ve reported on the insider variant before it actually got pushed to some notebooks. How’s reporting done these days, do y’all rely on press releases and copying from channels who actually do discovery?
We continually keep up to date on Windows branches. However, nowhere was anything said or has anything been said about these scheduler updates. Not in a press release, not in the MS developer blog and not in the Insider Preview's release notes. As a matter of fact, the MS Developer Forums were flooded with posts wondering why NO ONE was aware of these changes until AMD mentioned them.

Things used to move so much faster than they do now. I went from a Phenom II processor to a Skylake processor in about 5 years. Before that whatever Core 2 Duo was in the family computer was borderline unusable after 5 years. It's really just a matter of perspective. I think you're right that 4-5 years is no longer very "old" in the sense that it's still relevant to use.
Still on AM4, I 'upgraded' my 3900x to 5700x3d. I bought another mobo and dropped my old 3900x in my home server, overpowered? Yes. Did it just because I already had it? Also yes.

5600x is now 60fps in the witcher 3 in novigrad? Edit: This is NOT a GPU bottleneck. This is with RT on on a 4070 TiSuper . These settings are more limited by the CPU than the GPU at the resolution I play at. Thanks.
@@Maherbaset it's not a GPU bottleneck. Ray tracing on a 40 series GPU relies more on the CPU than you'd think. It drops below 60 only inside the town square.

I think the 5800 and 5700x3d will go down as CPUs on the same level as the i5 2500k, probably even more legendary. I don't see myself upgrading again until there is another paradigm shift in computing. It's crazy to think that a $100 B450 motherboard from 2018 might last through 3 major GPU upgrades and over a decade.

Remember that’s only 1080p using a RTX 4090 “$2,000+ GPU to “highlight” the “performance” of a CPU. If anything you should be running at 1080p low settings to boost the FPS. Only way you going to see this is if you have a $400+ CPU and $2,000 GPU.

I'm on Windows 11 don't game much but when I do I'm on 1440 so don't really see much upside, plus I tend to play older games anyway.

Likely not since we tested a 3900X is a few situations which normally saw HUGE boosts and didn't see one iota of difference.

@@Maherbaset it's not a GPU bottleneck. Ray tracing on a 40 series GPU relies more on the CPU than you'd think. It drops below 60 only inside the town square.
@christophermullins7163 oh i thought games like spider man has something new in their engine that made ray tracing so heavy on the cpu i didn't know that it's a thing with the 40's series GPUs

Is there a different Windows Update version number for Mobile chips? I've checked mine and there's no KN5041587 optional updates. I have a Ryzen 5 5600H, which is listed in the impacted skus

I think the 5800 and 5700x3d will go down as CPUs on the same level as the i5 2500k, probably even more legendary. I don't see myself upgrading again until there is another paradigm shift in computing. It's crazy to think that a $100 B450 motherboard from 2018 might last through 3 major GPU upgrades and over a decade.
i don't know, i have seen latelly videos about ryzen getting less performance on W11 than W10 so maybe this update is not a performance gain but a recover of it.
It made more sense to me to sell my 3080ti and my 1440p 144hz monitor for a 4080 super and a 4k 120hz monitor than to leave AM4 and my 5800x3d.
I am still running a 5800x3d on an x570 mobo. I really dont see a NEED to upgrade for a little while longer
I know you can't test every Ryzen CPU but since I'm rockin the Ryzen 9 5900x, I would be interested to see the patch improvements for the 5900X CPU. I bet You guys are sick of installing windows 11 by now :P
even if my 5800x3d age like a fine wine I will sell it in 2025, new 9900x3d/9950x3d will get new 3D cash tecnology and will go for it.
Still very happy with my 7950X and RTX3800 12GB. Anything over 60FPS is just frosting on the cake for me with my 28" 4K 60Hz monitor. Great review!

Remember that’s only 1080p using a RTX 4090 “$2,000+ GPU to “highlight” the “performance” of a CPU. If anything you should be running at 1080p low settings to boost the FPS. Only way you going to see this is if you have a $400+ CPU and $2,000 GPU.
