    Speaking of Hernandez, I worked with him at an indie show around 2010 i think it was. At the time i was 290lbs of brick shit house. He lifts me up for a border toss and drops me down down and I swear to god he dumped me onto a bed made of soft down feathers. Lifted me like i was a bottle of water. And god, such a good guy to boot. Super funny. Very humble. Here he is, national tv star, and were all local kids just trying our best. He took his time with us, came out two days early to teach at our school for a few hours a day. Ive worked with a few national stars over the years, and he is by far in the top 3 of nicest and most giving dudes out there.

    Regarding the segment with Abyss and Dr Stevie Richards, I actually know where Russo got the idea from. Its from a movie called "What Lies Beneath" in which a Doctor (SPOILERS) uses an anaesthetic called "Halothane" to physically paralyze his wife, whilst also keeping her conscious and aware. But the way the drug is portrayed in the movie is not how it works in reality, but it seems that Russo believed that that's how the drug works in real life.

    • @blakemeads9225
      @blakemeads9225 3 года назад +2

      If Russo wasn’t a fucking dunce, and did the smallest bit of research, he could have easily used succinylcholine as the drug, because it’s an actual drug that in the right doses can produce the effects described in the segment. Also, it was used in electroshock therapy, which would have fit the “mental illness” angle even more.

      @@blakemeads9225 I still see notable names from wrestling defending Russo, and I just don't get it. Are they really THAT oblivious?! Every writer, on day 1, learns that they need to do fucking research. He doesn't know wrestling, he knows movies. Wrestling is not movies, yet he just won't go away. People love him somehow.

      @@MrHawkelement The one positive that I can say about Russo is that he does seem to try and book angles for everybody on the roster, even the talent that is hardly used. Now, there may be a good reason that the talent isn’t used in the first place! Lol but that’s a different conversation.
      But this is why you see talent like Eric Young, Elix Skipper (in WCW), etc. being placed into Russo angles. Which again, can work as a positive (to see what the talent is capable of, can they take the ball and run with it, etc.) or it could showcase how horrible they are.
      If only Russo could have wrote sensible angles that made sense on a pro wrestling level, he could have been the next Paul Heyman in terms of being the one guy who could break new talent in on a regular basis. But since Russo’s writing was so horribly inept, you had chaos instead.
