nonamerequired123 I don’t know if I’d want to get someone from ECW, but I definitely would! I’d maybe want someone whose been around to multiple companies. I live in MA so if anyone’s around here they most likely worked for WWE. I’d even like someone who was never a big name or a known guy like Bruce or Tony but a guy who was around during the end of the territory days & continued on with one or two or even all of the big 3 and then maybe went on to the Indies or ROH/TNA lol.
I am sure it would be hard to find someone who’s done all of that near central MA. Although I do have an actual studio I can use outside of Boston or I could use my little amateur home studio which will be good enough.
But anyway thanks for replying. I really do think Bruce, Conrad, and Tony Shiatsu have something great going! And of course Ric but I want someone from behind the scenes or an out of the ring talent. Being an announcer, DJ, & promoter myself I sometimes find guys like Bruce, Tony, Penzer, etc more interesting than the wrestlers.

On them wanting Christian for Flair, only thing I can think of is that most TNA marks I knew at that time were HUGE marks for Christian. So, probably wrong, cause they didn't seem to give a fuck what their fans wanted most of the time, but maybe they wanted to, for once, get someone their own fans really loved.

Vince made the decision and he's telling conrat why he did that and I don't know what other answer he was looking for when he knows very well that is how Vince thinks. The BIGGEST problem with wrestling is that every company hires "wrestling people" to run it...and all they know to do is try and run an old playbook. Wrestling people LOVE to pretend the wrestling business is unique and HAS to be run a certain way....and completely ignore that Vince's success was completely throwing away the playbook.
The problem with wrestling is the talent drain at every level, insider and outsider alike, and the only threat WWE would face is business innovation from a dispassionate and skilled business person, who can analyze the market, spot WWE's blind spots/weaknesses, and only cares about money...not fame, not personal wealth, not living a fantasy...just a ruthless owner who wants to build a company.

Growing up North (NJ) and working there and moving down South (Richmond, VA) this sounds like my experience. But in Bruce's case he's a Southern guy. Working down south is very vague and nothing got done. And people don't do confrontation in public often so things that are uncomfortable rarely get addressed. This is more cultural then laziness.

I'm relistening to earier episodes of this podcast and reviewing them. This is maybe the first really big hit for the show, and I personally tend to enjoy the longer episodes better. Conrad hates every honest answer he gets in this one... Typical conman 😆. But this episode has a lot of meat on the bone, and we learned a lot about the behind the scenes of TNA, hearing alot that wasn't really widely known. Overall I definitely enjoyed hearing this one again, and even brought back warm memories hearing it years ago. The boy were having fun here, and so was I. I give this one 4.5 doots of of 5.

Forget the star ratings. Just use your words as you did for majority of your comment. Actually I am doing the same thing you are doing going back, but TNA I actually skipped it and never listened to it at all when they were just starting. I only wanted to hear about WWF and then ruthless aggression stuff and TNA I basically left it for a later date. Although I didn't think it would be this late 7 years later.

Spouting shit about James Storm here, everyone wanted him to be the guy to take down Roode the story was excellent but Austin Aries was on fire at the time so putting the belt on him became imperative so James was a victim of circumstance. 1:04 to expand on what Bruce was saying about Joe, I don’t watch a lot of new wrestling but I did tune into WWE last month or the month before at some point just to check it out. Samoa Joe was cutting a promo on the announcers and someone told him it was a good idea to stand up on the announcers table in point at them and yell. Whoever told Joe to stand up on The table and yellow the announcers needs to be fired. When Joe stood up on that table to yell at the announcers it look like he stood up on the table so he could be at I level with them. Samoa Joe and Jean standing at a table yelling at Corey Graves and Michael Cole look like Michael Cole son wanted to be I level with dad and yell at him.

Joseph Charles I believe him here because when WWE does documentaries I’ve pretty much learned not to believe them if it’s produced by WWE. WWE is going to put out whatever truth they want the general public to believe. That’s why there is so many people out there today that really believe that WCW died and that’s why they went away because they started sucking and WWF made them go away. Did WCW suck the last two years they were in business? Yes they did, however by the logic that WW we would have you believe if WWE been that much better than WCW would’ve shut down in 1991. When WCW shut down they did not have the ratings WWE had a WCW was still the highest rated show on TNT. The people that bought turn our soul every subsidiary turner had. The Atlanta Hawks and the Atlanta Braves have nothing to do with the wrestling bubble but yet they were sold to. By the way I also think the entire book of the death of WCW was complete shit too. But yeah any documentary WWE puts out especially if it’s something on a Nother company or involves another company I don’t believe a word of it.

The young bucks still have no ring psychology. They’re over with the 2 million wrestling fans that are left, the other 8 million fans that gave up on wrestling aren’t the biggest fans of what they do. The 2 million fans that are left though however are the type of vans that are just your typical smart fans Who think a great worker is someone that does 200 high spots a match and really don’t know a damn thing about working. To Jay’s vans that are fans of the current product don’t know what ring psychology is into them if you just do 200 high spots that means the match was good. That’s why when you watch wrestling today the fans don’t pop up like they did in the 80s and 90s they’re more interested in chanting along with the Roessler’s or chanting this is awesome after a hard spot because they’re not invested in the story that’s being told they’re invested in the moves it.

Here is the video of the mentioned Jeff Hardy drug incident vs Sting at Victory Road 2011. ruclips.net/video/8uTCHS8KHdE/видео.html. How in the hell is TNA still in business as Impact 17 years later. It truly is unbelievable. While 2004-2012 was some of the best times in TNA's history, who would have ever throught that behind the scenes, shit was hitting the fan. I hated the Impact Zone for all the same reasons that Bruce did. I could tell those fans were just escaping the heat of the Orlando sun. To me, Dixie didn't know what the hell she was doing. When AJ left all hell broke loose cause he was truly the last TNA original who stuck it out throughout this mess.
