    I don't like the look versus the Taos. Also does the second row seats recline? I like that the Honda CR-V back seats recline, but when my youngest falls asleep in his car seat I don't like how his neck hangs so I like the reclining seat option so I don't have to worry about that. It's really the only thing I liked about the Honda CR-V they filled it up with a bunch of crap and not practical beneficial features. Also looks like the vw has the side camera which Honda got rid off.

    Volkswagen's fortune in America was built on unquestionable reliability and a toughness with which other car manufacturers could not compete. The original Beetle and the Super Beetle were unmatched in "fun to drive," and attention to detail. Almost all my friends learned how to operate a manual transmission on a VW Beetle.

    • @krane15

    VW builds a performance Tiguan R (not to be confused with the R-Line), with the 300hp engine from the Golf R. But its the short wheel base which is not imported to the U.S. There are rumors the updated 2024 Tiguan R may come to the U.S. If it does, I'd buy it in a minute.
    Of course, if it does, I'm sure people will then whine that is has poor fuel economy or costs too much. Speaking of sticker shock, has anybody checked out the price on a new RAV4 Prime Hybrid lately? Would you believe its 50k?

    • @zedzedski7382
      @zedzedski7382 Год назад

      It's the same engine EA888 that goes into GTI, R and many other VW models. It's just detuned with a small turbo. You can easily do APR Stage 1 ECU tune and get GTI power without any part swap. Stage 3 will get you to R power.

    • @krane15
      @krane15 Год назад

      @@zedzedski7382 I knew you/somebody was going to say that. The problem with your logic, however, is that once you start down that road there is no limit since you can always add on more stuff. In fact, put two V4s together, and now you have a W8. Do you still consider it "the same engine?"

    I drive a Tiguan for work, so I spend hours in it every day. I've grown to hate the car. The buttons are confusing and unintuitive (especially on the steering wheel) I still get confused why some of the buttons for lights are pressed in for them to be on while others are off in the in position. Speaking of lights, I keep gear in the back that I need to get to at night. There's no freaking roof light back there! The lights are on the sides which are covered by anything that is placed back there! Stupid! I have to use my phone's flashlight. The seats are horrible! They are stiff and cause back-pain after about 40 minutes of driving. This is not a good road trip car. The infotainment touch screen is slow.
    With that said, the car does drive well and has good visibility. It confidently handles inclement weather like rain and snow.

      Just as any car brand there are good models and bad models. You unfortunately picked all 3 bad models. EA888 3rd generation engine is very reliable, Haldex 5th generation is very reliable and Tiguan and some other models in North America come with an AISIN AWF8F35 transmission, which is a Lexus/Toyota transmission originally made for Lexus RX and now is fitted to a lot of brands like VW, BMW, Opel, Peugeot, Jaguar and more. Also, depends which years you had. VW has significantly improved after 2010 and especially when they launched MQB platform.
