10:34 At about this time in the upper right hand corner you can see a poster for Disney land on Giulia's wall. The poster is from the rocket jet ride in tomorrow land this poster came out in 1967, this means that this would have been at least when the movie came out now we see in the credits Giulia and Luca watching the moon landing witch as you said takes place in 1969 so this means that this movie takes place from 1967 to 1969 So the middle of this would be about 1968. meaning Giulia was 8 around 1955 so anyone working during that time would be the best canidit for Giulia's monster. Love your guys stuff and this is my little tid bit that I noticed Love your guys channel
I also like to imagine that Randel is Violet’s monster. They can both turn invisible and stuff. I also believe in the Boo grows up to be Violet theory. (Mostly cause of that one scene in incredibles 2 where violet seemingly teleports behind the fridge the way Boo used to do behind the bathroom stall doors)
Can you even imagine Randal's reaction if Luca would dump water on himself and bare his teeth at him, just for trying to scare Giulia? Randal: Hey, how are- Luca: *growling and snarling* Randal: *screams like a girl* GET YOUR FREAKIN' MONSTER BACK! Giulia: *studying, not even looking up* He don't bite. Haha, Now I'm just imagining, after 3-4 incidents of children using powers to fight their monsters, the Monsters Inc corporation just refusing to scare kids on that part of the timeline
It could explain why there's a shortage... super kids means less kids to scare, so not as much energy. Plus they're gonna be a bit more careful for future generations in case they have powers too.

I want to make an argument that based on this theory Andy had a jokester and not a scarer and therefore did not have Randall as a monster (although I would love MaW to bring him back since he was such a genuinely good guy in MU)
In Monsters University Mike looks under a bridge on his first day and sees an old building underneath it with the words ''School of Aquatics'' etched into it in fancy font, and it had several literal sea monsters swimming in and out of it, which I find really interesting because one it implies that not all monsters live on land, two we're never given an answer to ''CAN they go on land like Luca and Al, or would they die like fish, and if they can't, which would be why they have a seperate school building, how would these aquatics scare children, since humans obviously live and sleep on land?''
Additional theory: The events of Luca result in a whole town, and later a large city in Italy suddenly having no fear of monsters. This was the original trigger for the energy crisis at the start of Monsters, Inc.
Just saying, I think Sullywould make Merida have flashbacks of her dad losing his arm. I think he would be able to make a little Merida scream for a few years.
I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure on Randal when you first mentioned it but the look on Julia’s face when she saw Alberto’s PURPLE scaly arm definitely sold me. You did it again boys💯
I actually would have pushed the year to 1959 since the lady is watching the movie on a TV broadcast and not in the theaters. Not that it makes that big of a difference 😀. Well done otherwise.
There is a flaw in this theory: In one of SCB’s older videos, it is theorized that Randall is Andy’s monster as well. However, Toy Story takes place in 1995, just four years before Monsters, Inc takes place in 1999. If he is also Guilia’s monster back in our 1953, he would be 74 years old in Monsters, Inc if the older theory is still in practice. So either this theory is broken, or the other one is. Nevertheless, I always appreciate the effort you guys put into these!
Stick in the spokes: In the credits, Luca and Giulia are seen at Giulia's home for the school year and one of the pictures shows them watching a moon landing on television. There were two moon landings in 1969. Apollo 11 was in July, which they wouldn't be watching at Giulia's home because they were having summer shenanigans in Portorosso and the next was in November 1969, which would work and have put them now in Genoa at school. I present the year of Luca was 1969.
I have been watching your vids for years. They are so entertaining and just fun to watch! One thing I really want you to do is an updated Pixar theory. It is beginning to get a little hard for me to keep track of everything again. The last video you did of this was like three years ago. That would be amazing! Thanks again for your vids!
I’d love to see a series of shorts showing different kids from Pixar movies showing what their monster was Maybe like a fun non-canon Scary Stories type series from the monsters perspective Sids monster coming in to be terrified by the conjoined toys moving around, Miguel’s monster being confused when they don’t find him in his room one night- going out looking for him and being terrified about all of the people around, there’s so many fun oprotunities
What if the reason kids start to become less and less scared is because of Luca/ other creatures like him? Stories of monsters in general would be a bogeyman to any child that hears about it. Sea monsters making it to the top of the list of why some children are afraid to swim in the ocean. Suddenly, these monsters are real, but instead of being terrifying, they're actually really nice. So, stories about monsters in closets/under the bed suddenly become less scary because- "Hey, the sea monsters are actually friendly, so why can't my monster?"
Unless that film was made for television, your date is probably off by years. Movies did not transition to video/television soon after their first theatrical release in 1958. Or the 1960s. Or the 1970s. Films stayed in theaters for years. One week the print would be in Cleveland. The next week it would be in Chicago, or Cincinnati, or Fremont, or York, or any other town with a theater and an account with the distributor. For example, Star Wars came out in 1977, but I couldn't see it untill summer of 1978 when it played at the drive in theater in Fremont, Ohio (paired with Invasion of the Body Snatchers.) If that was a theatrical film playing on late night TV, it would have been years after its release.
I also think that it's such a cool connection that Randall, as a descendant of the sea monsters in Luca, is actually scaring a child who lives in an area that has a huge sea monster problem. Maybe that's why he's her monster too, because he not only is so equipped to handle small rooms withou difficulty, but he also looks very similar to them since he literally came from them. They're sort of one in the same. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe Randall, and any monsters that look like him, scare other children that we see in Portorrosso. A lot of them look younger than Guilia, so the timeline would still work.
IM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!! I actually guessed this one correctly! I of course did not do near as much awesome and Definitive research as you did, but I did notice the rooms size and the resemblance between the sea monsters is Luca and how Randal looks. So super good video.
In the credit pictures, it looks like Luca and Guila are watching the lunar landing so I don't know if the timeline matches up. Plus, a lot of the smaller towns don't get movies immediately, sometimes it takes years.
i would like to see a theory on what happened to randy when he got stuck in the human world. i would like to see him trying to find a way back to the monster world and try to get revenge on mike and sully or try to find boo. and i would also like to imagine he gets taken into a circus and gets put into display. but anyway i like to see what he might be doing and maybe it could tie into the pixar theory
Right when you talked about how much the dad hated sea monsters most likely because he saw a glimpse of Giulia’s monster I had a feeling it was most likely randalf because of how if you saw a glimpse of him he would kinda look like one of the sea monsters from those pictures he stabbed
Fun fact : A new species of 'slithering' snake is found in India by Indian scienctists and they named the species after Salazar Slytherin, coz the scientists are potterheads. Its name is 'Trimeresurus Salazar'
Question/theory idea? Who has the authority to banish people in the monster world? I rewatched Monsters Inc., MU, and currently watching the tv show. The latest episode of the show brings up some interesting questions and information regarding banishment
Merida is an intereesting character to talk about imo, we know she wasn't always as brave as she's shown, there's a flashback in the movie of her being scared of lightning and Elenor comforting her. The only real issue with finding her monster is the timeline doesn't go far enough for us to see monsters from that time, but considering the nature of her fear of lightning I'm thinking it could've been one of the Sullivans, they have the perfect roar for someone afraid of thunder and Lions like what Sully's test kid was scared of
A-ha! But you missed crucial information that ENTIRELY changes the time that the movie takes place!!! In the end credits, Luca and Giulia, still looking quite young, might I add, are watching the moon landing on TV. The moon landing wasn’t until 1969. So either they’re 24/25 year olds who look 13, or you need to re-think your theory. I’d like to say that the movie takes place in 1967-1968ish, depending how much time goes by in the end credits. Five years before that would be 1962-1963ish, so I think it’s safe to say Giulia did indeed have a jokester. This may be a more difficult case than we thought, considering we don’t know much of who it is after Mike and Sulley’s generation. In short, good theory, bad timeline.
OK, so for the dating part - Ercole's Vespa appears to be a Vespa Rally 180, produced between 1968 and 1973. Knowing Ercole's... vain and self-centred nature, he most likely bought it as soon as it was available. From that, along with the credit shot of them watching the moon landing (they don't appear to have aged visibly, and it stands to reason that the credits would show what the kids were up to shortly after the movie, rather than several years after), I'd say the movie takes place in the summer of 1968, specifically the end of the summer, since Giulia has to leave to go back to her mother's and for school. Of course the shortcoming of this thinking is that pretty much every Vespa we see in the movie appears to be the exact same model, so they might have just used the one for inspiration/base... But hey, it's just a theory...
The Cat on Julia's bed looks like a Turning Red cat.I wonder where Turning Red will be placed on the Timeline.Maybe Soul 22 caused a Nexus event that alters the Pixarverse. What if Soul 22 was born as the last Monster and Met Boo/Possibly the with from Brave?
If you think only Ravenclaws can be smart or care about data, sure. But that's obviously not true because they weren't genetically engineered to be Ravenclaws, it's just they valued Ravenclaw things the most at the time of sorting.

That's what I was thinking lol, when j started talking about the size of the room I instantly thought "wait does she even have a closet?"
That’s actually a really good theory as well
10:34 At about this time in the upper right hand corner you can see a poster for Disney land on Giulia's wall.
Oh cool this series is back
True fans saw this the first time they released this.
Right here
Thanks for bearing with us as we fixed our audio issues!
Yep
Yep
I tried but it was made private before I could watch
It’s obvious who one of the Parr kids monster is. I can see Randall being Violet’s monster because of her fear of her powers.
That door probably got shredded
Can you even imagine Randal's reaction if Luca would dump water on himself and bare his teeth at him, just for trying to scare Giulia?
Randal: Hey, how are-
Luca: *growling and snarling*
Randal: *screams like a girl* GET YOUR FREAKIN' MONSTER BACK!
Giulia: *studying, not even looking up* He don't bite.
Randal: *scratching the closet door like a scared dog* YES, HE DO!
The only thing worse than Randall is a wedding planned by Voldemort

Haha, Now I'm just imagining, after 3-4 incidents of children using powers to fight their monsters, the Monsters Inc corporation just refusing to scare kids on that part of the timeline
It could explain why there's a shortage... super kids means less kids to scare, so not as much energy. Plus they're gonna be a bit more careful for future generations in case they have powers too.
@@torazely Carl's mosnter is Earl the terror Thompson because he is the oldest scarer in the 1920's and 1930's
Idea for a pixar theory: when did monsters start scaring kids? Did they scare kids before doors were invented? If so, how did they get to the kids?
Hey SuperCarlinBrothers! Speaking of monsters, have you guys watched the new show "Monsters At Work" on Disney+ yet? I loved it and I'm sure you'll love it too.
Seeing as he used "Jokesters" when referring to Scarers post-Boo, I'm guessing they've indeed watched it.
The intro is a bop and I love it as well as the show itself.
I actually thought of: "Ma, 'nother gator got in!" "'Nother gator?! Gimme that shovel!!"
I would argue that she has no monster. That is a fearless little girl if I ever saw one, her door was shredded IMMEDIATELY
yeah she probably yelled "Mostro!" and jump on it pulling at whatever she could.
I doubt that given her first reaction to Albertos Monster form.
@@theunitedcommonwealth715 True. Somehow I forgot that when I left that comment. I don't know how. One of hte more brutal heartbreak scenes Disney has.
@@theunitedcommonwealth715 you... have a fantastic point
It also makes sense because of the smallness of her room Randall could hide in plain sight and jump-scare her easily
I always forget that her name is spelled that way, so I’m like, “who’s gwoolia?”
Gonna be easy to learn Italian for you, huh?
@@Lokear I’ll admit, I’m not great with languages 😂
@@ryleemorrow6811 It's fine. I didn't know that that was a common thing in Italian words until I started learning it. I've noticed it a lot more in names I know since then (Michael Giacchino's last name, for example).
It’s me
@@itsspelledgiulia1203 :0
This is a good theory, but I would think that the monsters just avoid this town since they're basically monster hunters
They could still scare her when she’s at her mom’s house for school
Massimo is hands down the best Disney/Pixar parent. There are some mighty good ones out there, loads that are doing their best...Massimo makes ME feel like I could talk to him about anything and he'd keep me safe and teach me things without getting annoyed at me and hed raise me really well...and I'm 31
Giulia's monster is Luca, of course!
Yes
@@Thomas_the_train. And Carl's Mosnter Was Earl The Terror Thompson
In monsters University we see that there are monsters that live underwater so does this mean Luca himself is a monster?
Just an idea: but what if her monster isn’t on that scare floor?
Like… perhaps it could be squishy or Don due to his aquatic look and tiny size
Just saying, I think Sullywould make Merida have flashbacks of her dad losing his arm. I think he would be able to make a little Merida scream for a few years.
*monster comes through Luca’s closet*
Luca “oh hey Terry”
When you're about halfway through the video and it breaks and you're like whelp guess I don't actually need the answer
I think the theory is good. the part when you said that Giulia's dad trusts her judgement. It was so sweet. ✨✨
Alberto and Luca don´t have monsters in their closets because THEY are monsters in the closet :D
Good job with the audio, thanks for fixing it instead of giving up!
There is a flaw in this theory:
In one of SCB’s older videos, it is theorized that Randall is Andy’s monster as well.
Randal can be the monster for more than 1 kid at a time, he's a professional
@@adamsalt9423 he certainly isn’t 74 years old in Monsters, Inc.
@@LaneWinn they age very differently than humans, lizards last a very long time and Randal could be
@@adamsalt9423 he’s a freshman in Monsters University. And he was a good student, so I doubt he was held back 50+ times
0:26 Miguel has seen death, he fears nothing
I have been watching your vids for years. They are so entertaining and just fun to watch! One thing I really want you to do is an updated Pixar theory. It is beginning to get a little hard for me to keep track of everything again. The last video you did of this was like three years ago. That would be amazing! Thanks again for your vids!
Kid: * exist*
Carlin brothers: “I WONDER WHO THEIR MONSTER WAS!”
I’d love to see a series of shorts showing different kids from Pixar movies showing what their monster was
Maybe like a fun non-canon Scary Stories type series from the monsters perspective
Sids monster coming in to be terrified by the conjoined toys moving around, Miguel’s monster being confused when they don’t find him in his room one night- going out looking for him and being terrified about all of the people around, there’s so many fun oprotunities
So how will the monsters get power once the time line catches up and all the humans are monsters?
That would honestly make a good theory on the channel
I've wondered that myself
What if the reason kids start to become less and less scared is because of Luca/ other creatures like him? Stories of monsters in general would be a bogeyman to any child that hears about it. Sea monsters making it to the top of the list of why some children are afraid to swim in the ocean. Suddenly, these monsters are real, but instead of being terrifying, they're actually really nice.
So, stories about monsters in closets/under the bed suddenly become less scary because- "Hey, the sea monsters are actually friendly, so why can't my monster?"
J: "Also, also!"
Me: "Actually, actually!"
I love that I've been watching these so long that as soon as Jay says the room's size is the answer, I'm like "oh, it's Randall" 😆
For example, Star Wars came out in 1977, but I couldn't see it untill summer of 1978 when it played at the drive in theater in Fremont, Ohio (paired with Invasion of the Body Snatchers.)
If that was a theatrical film playing on late night TV, it would have been years after its release.
Alternate timeline, mr incredible has an amphobious rocket car in that same time frame, so maybe they can also get movies onto tv a bit quicker?
I also think that it's such a cool connection that Randall, as a descendant of the sea monsters in Luca, is actually scaring a child who lives in an area that has a huge sea monster problem. Maybe that's why he's her monster too, because he not only is so equipped to handle small rooms withou difficulty, but he also looks very similar to them since he literally came from them. They're sort of one in the same. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe Randall, and any monsters that look like him, scare other children that we see in Portorrosso. A lot of them look younger than Guilia, so the timeline would still work.
Always love these monster videos!
I love the explanation of Julia and her fathers relationship, really warms my heart.
What do you guys think about the Disney + show monsters at work
IM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!! I actually guessed this one correctly! I of course did not do near as much awesome and Definitive research as you did, but I did notice the rooms size and the resemblance between the sea monsters is Luca and how Randal looks. So super good video.
The only monster that could fit in there comfortably is boo in her costume so it’s definitely her
In the credit pictures, it looks like Luca and Guila are watching the lunar landing so I don't know if the timeline matches up. Plus, a lot of the smaller towns don't get movies immediately, sometimes it takes years.
So Boo and Guelia are just a handful of years apart in age?
You guys deserve more subscribers
Only the OG’s remember the original upload.
This video's so nice Imma watch it twice, good job fixing it guys!
11:03-11:12 J went a little insane
It was 11:04 of the video when it occurred to me that J has officially lost it. The eyes, the manic tone, the Matrix reference. 😂
You guys know that excel sheet you showed had the green line at Carl's childhood, right? Not Giulia's? Giulia's 8-year-old line only had Sulley named.
It'd be fun and funny if we had a one or two Pixar writers that could include both Super Carlin Brothers in as Easter eggs in a future Pixar movie.
i would like to see a theory on what happened to randy when he got stuck in the human world. i would like to see him trying to find a way back to the monster world and try to get revenge on mike and sully or try to find boo. and i would also like to imagine he gets taken into a circus and gets put into display. but anyway i like to see what he might be doing and maybe it could tie into the pixar theory
I have been waiting for more Luca content
can u guys do a recap vid for all the children in pixar u've found monsters to?
The Pixar theory is beginning to feel like a huge reach to me, and it felt like you were reaching with her dad maybe catching a glimpse of Randall
Merida is an intereesting character to talk about imo, we know she wasn't always as brave as she's shown, there's a flashback in the movie of her being scared of lightning and Elenor comforting her. The only real issue with finding her monster is the timeline doesn't go far enough for us to see monsters from that time, but considering the nature of her fear of lightning I'm thinking it could've been one of the Sullivans, they have the perfect roar for someone afraid of thunder and Lions like what Sully's test kid was scared of
for a second I read this title as "Who Is Giulia's Mother?"
Although that would be a good theory
do a video ranking/going over your most popular theories from all franchises!
I knew it would be Randal from the very beginning
I don't know why but I read this is Julia's mom is also a monster and got me thinking WHO IS JULIA'S MOM
He does mention 1969 at 7:37 but doesn't go any further on it
OK, so for the dating part - Ercole's Vespa appears to be a Vespa Rally 180, produced between 1968 and 1973.
I'm this close to opening up Word, binging your videos, and making an updated Pixar theory document.
Says he’s a slytherin, I MADE A CHART AND THOUGHT WAY TOO MUCH ABOUT TWO VAGUELY CONNECTED UNIVERSES. sounds like Ravenclaw to me
If you think only Ravenclaws can be smart or care about data, sure. But that's obviously not true because they weren't genetically engineered to be Ravenclaws, it's just they valued Ravenclaw things the most at the time of sorting.
This is so cool lol. I really like how you guys explained the time things and how you slowly cut it down to the exact monster
