This is the Super-Multi-CoatedTakumar 120mm f/2.8. Chapter 41

Today remains the last bits of 2023 and in the blink of an eye, is gone, forever.
I close this year with a narrow field-of-view lens, and for 2024, I open with a wide one.
Most of us turn sentimental on this day, no matter how bad this year was, especially as we get older one more year.
What has been left unfinished, in 2024 will be the goal, and better, and this is what I wish for you and for myself.

Thorium is mixed INSIDE glass :) it is not coating. Thorium glass usually is yellow after years spent in cabinet. Yellow tint can be partially removed by UV light/sun.
But 120/2.8 probably does not have any thorium glass elements. Those were used in 20/4.5, 35/2, 50/1.4, 55/1.8 and 85/1.8 Takumar lenses. Then some 300/6.3 tele Takumar and 105mm F2.4 6x7 medium format Pentax.

​@@red_code they are only 80 bucks or so. But the 120 almost certainly doesn't have thorium glass. Some tak coatings just have an orange tint.

If not for collecting, would either be necessary if you owned the super multi coated135mm f2.5? Are either of these sharper than the 135mm? tyvm for the video!

Very good comment. I bought this version because it was a good offer, plus better to stay in my arsenal than someone's shelter, left unattended, All Takumar are razor sharp, comparing them to lenses from the Europe.
