You are correct, theres nothing like a volvo 850 t5😊 i have one, and never get fed up with it,ever! Its nice to see a younger person enjoying what us older (60) people have know for decades. Volvo 850 t5 is a car capable of all aspects of driving.
Definitely! It's really refreshing with an older car that actually feels like a machine that you are controlling, rather than all the modern cars that sometimes literally drive themselves.
I have a 5 speed 850 non turbo and its not quite as much of a rocket ship 😂. I don't think it would be at 335000 MI if it was a turbo though, such a sweet ride.
i run the same car as a daily driver. Sounds just like yours, mines chipped with a 16t turbo, white injectors and slightly larger front brakes. That growl is amplified with the hard mount material on the top engine mount, as im sure you know! haha my second car is a 93 5 pot audi s4, the volvo has the better engine..

It doesn't officially have the T5 designation , but it is a Turbo 5 cylinder, but with a low-pressure turbo instead of a high pressure turbo like most 2.0 T5 engines.

I had an 850 turbo manual wagon, then a p80 v70, now a p2 xc70. I miss my 850 turbo manual, it was a rocket ship

Sounds like my 850R. I fitted 18x8 Pegasus rims on mine.

How reliable is this T5 compared to e60?
I don't really know my BMWs well enough to answer that question, but the T5s are pretty much legendary for their reliability when serviced properly.
