    I’ve done this. And have never thought of fuel regulator o-rings. Didn’t even know it had it. Thanks for the advice💪

    Beautiful video sir - I just fully rebuilt my S54, heavily modded, SMG to 6SM conversion via RTD. The coding itself was such a rabbithole, finally got it to start, but rough idles and stalls. Everything ignition wise is new, I just installed a new DW200 255LPH pump in replacement of OE thinking that was the issue, but still rough idles and stalls. Already has a new fuel filter on, checked for vacuum leaks, so last but not least is the FPR (I don't have a FPG to check rail pressure sadly).. thanks for this, very straightforward, excellent angles and lighting, should be quick and then finally back to life!

      Did the FPR do it for you? I just replaced my fuel pump a week ago and everything was running great for exactly 1 week before it went back to having the same issues as before... can't tell if I got a defective fuel pump that broke again or if I need to replace filter + FPR

      @Marty Orwell perform a throttle re adaptation, that's what fixed the issue for me ultimately for the rough idle issue.. my entire fuel system was fine, but good preventative maintenance anyway. With car off, floor gas pedal and hold it. Turn key to position 2 (do not start), and count to 30 seconds, then turn key to off position, then release gas pedal. Wait 30 seconds, then start car normally and go for a drive to see if idle and throttle improves. Stalling issues were resolved by replacing intake and exhaust cam sensors.

      @@fiatlux4265 Interesting, that's some great food for thought. Thank you. I've got some things taken apart right now and a filter/regulator arriving tomorrow which should be replaced anyway. But if I'm still having trouble I'll start to look at those. Did you have codes for your cam sensors (and if so, which ones)? How did you arrive at replacing those?

      @Marty Orwell cam sensors did not throw error codes. Symptoms based on research pointed to these being the culprit; I'd already replaced a ton of other things by this point.. new fuel pump, FPR, injectors fully serviced by Race German, new fuel pump relay module, verified no vacuum leaks, new ignition coils, fairly new spark plugs, new crank position sensor, new ICV, ensured using OE ITB clamps, ensured partial ROM read for DME was correct.. in INPA my fuel injector time was way off the charts if I could keep the engine idling with the gas pedal.. compensation for terrible AFR and out of whack throttle adaptation. Performing the throttle adaptation reset and replacing cam sensors ultimately fixed the rough idle (leading to stall) and stalling when coming to a stop. Everything else up until this point did not really help things.. but now are all performing top tier for having been replaced proactively from chasing these issues lol

    Tried to do this without pulling the fuse number 56 and the white plastic piece at the back of the fuel filter you push is impossible to push in. Guess you have to release the pressure with the fuse pulling and priming? That or my filter has just become super stubborn after 18 years on the car?

    • @YEVSBUILDS
      @YEVSBUILDS  2 года назад

      Both very good guesses haha. I mean the priming is for multiple reasons, but the biggest one is so that you get as least fuel on yourself as possible haha.

      I got into the bend too quickly and the back end got out of control. I tried to straighten it and it looks like I straightened it too much in I just twisted and ended up under the road nailed to a rock. with a half-meter hole in my side of the car.

      Some WD40 might help. Soak it, and then leave it for a few minutes
