US and UK E46 models have the fuel filters in the same spot and side. Some pre-LCI M47 M57 models have the fuel filter in the engine bay making them extremely easy to service.
Done my fuel filter, glow plugs and glow plug relay over the Xmas holidays. Car has been starting no problem in the cold Scottish mornings🤣. I am getting a 4B10 smooth running code now☹️ Great video mate
Thank u for that video George! I was for a wile thinking in doing that but i was worry about geting air in the system 😅😅😅! But now i nust need the debit card number 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi George, back to BMW for me. Got myself an 2007 e91 320d tourer m sport. So back to watching your video's. Did you end up giving up your delivery job?
Feedback for better content: If you removed the filfer, cut in half and show what’s Inside, you will have 2 types of viewers 1 is here just see the procedure and never come back, and 1 is to enjoy watching quality content... honestly I’m subscribed but the content is 5/10 if you want to keep your subscribers make it less standard and more educational/interesting. See chrisfix’s Chanel and you will see what I’m trying to say. Also you could have tested the fuel pressure before and after... all this stuff makes it so much fun/interesting to watch.
@@GeorgeAusters please mate. I know the N 47 is better at mileage but I think it's just like some drops off a litre of diesel that the N 47 is better than the M47. But M 47 is known for reliability where perhaps you cannot say that about the other engine
Fuel filter must be one of them used important changes together with engine oil approximately every 7000 miles that will make your engine and your car will last a long time
Tip next time pull the fuel pump fuse, start the car up a few times it will cut out. That will reduce the pressure and amount of fuel you would lose when you take the filter off.
That's funny i did the whole small service and forgot i wanted to get the fuel filter done with a petrol bm is not top of mind like a Diesel I did get my passenger front refresh the 🤬that lower ball joint for the torsion bar 🐔😜 lol
What's the normal fuel filter interval? Since it's pretty easy on my f31 diesel, I do it with every oil change, only takes 20min extra if the car is up anyway. Even a proper Bosch one doesn't cost a lot.
Haha george when i saw u tight under the car i was wondering how ur neck muscles were the following day ?? Mine are still a bit stiff 2 days after doing the filter change job !! Espero que tengas un buen dia !! Saludos Arnie
I've been running a 320d e46 touring about 5 weeks and I'm hopefully getting it mapped soon but in the meantime I'm lucky if I'm getting 30mpg mostly semi urban driving. All I've done since I got it is change the oil and filter but if anything its got slightly worse. I rely on it for delivery work so was hoping if there is something I'm missing. I've been told it was serviced off the seller ( son in law) any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. p.s loving the vids
check your thermostats , egr thermostat and main thermostat , they can cause the poor mpg because engine wont heat up to its operating temperature. + you can check/clean egr and intake manifold.
Do know the part number of the fuel filter heater of a 320D e92 automatic transmission of 2007 engine n47 ? Because I have this fault code 4B1C and this is about the heating of the fuel filter...
Lloyd Carlisle have these on offer for only £24 bought a few in the last year - guessing they have an overstock as there was a previous safety recall. Check the part number below is found on your vehicle on RealOEM and you're golden. Nice and easy to fit, remove passenger underside cover and it's right there, just a pipe, circlip and single electrical connector. Search for this on ebay -> BMW FUEL FILTER HEATER 13328572519 GENUINE LLOYD CARLISLE
Working on your drive, probably like most subscribers. For me, that’s what makes your videos stand out against others 👌.
Brilliant demonstration and very well done - useful!
Glad it was helpful!

Haha you should’ve checked for leaks before putting the cover back on
If this is the fuel filter, what is under the hood also fuel filter? So we have 2 fuel filters or?

Good stuff! Have you tested injectors?
@@GeorgeAusters Is there a DIY method or will I have to get them tested by a professional?👍

Yeah not a big issue, you don’t really lose any more fuel that what’s in the filter👍🏻

I believe the recommended is every 2 years but I do it every year and an oil change usually every 6 months
What are your plans with the E46 once you are finished with it
It’s up for sale mate
do you have a link for the car?
I want to replace the fuel filter too on my 325i touring

No it’s not

I'm the same sure it's under bonnet
