BO2 actually nailed a prediction with this gun. The M27 really did become a service rifle. More than that actually, the IAR configuration (bipod + ACOG BAC) already replaced the M249, the M38 DMR configuration (bipod, Leupold Mk4 scope and QDSS suppressor) replaced the Mk12 and the RWK (10.4 inch barrel and HK416A5 upper) is to replace the FORECON’s M4A1. It’s a complete takeover
I was in the Marines for about 8 months and this was our standard issue rifle, however we typically used 1.) semi auto (shooting as we approach to suppress the target and actually shooting each target twice), 2.) what in bo2 would be considered an acog sight, and 3.) IR lazer attatchment + monoscope for night ops. We also shot on the move a lot, so the adjustable stock attatchment would fit nicely. However a dedicated semi auto rifle would be a much more accurate representation performance-wise.
In my experience this is one of those guns that feels a bit rubbish when you start using it, but once you get the hang of it it becomes rather brilliant. I also like the iron sights on it, and when a gun has good irons it really frees up the options available to you.
Makes me wish I could play this in it's heyday/remaster. I always hear some people always talk about how great CODM is, but there's way too many weapons. TMK, there's 27 ARs, with 11 being very similar spray and prays

Suppressor is absolutely useless in hardcore. The only time I would use it is if I have ghost on my class; I have ghost on this class I mentioned but I still do not recommend it; you're reducing your range just because you want to appear off the mini map that badly when the enemy has a uav? you'll only appear for like 1 second if you have ghost when you're shooting. suppressor is probably for people so paranoid they feel they might get killed right after once they start shooting.
Wow, it has been a long time since I made this comment. I still play Black ops 2 regularly, but don't play Hardcore anymore. I only use a silencer because I personally like the way it feels with the gun, it gives little benefit. Same with the Scar, that gun is noticeable better with suppressor because it reduces muzzle flash+kick. If I would run a different M27 setup it would be Stock+Fast mag. Same perks, maybe Flack Jacket instead of Ghost.

Supressor is way too overrated but at the same time it's way too overpowered. I'm happy they at least nerfed it with the SMG combination, but they never nerfed it with other guns. It really annoys me when people keep using the AN94 / SCARH with suppressor combination these days. I don't mind the guns but the attachments; I really would like to see more people using without the suppressor, and yeah it is somewhat useful in HC as you mentioned, but you'll get more chances of hitmarkers due to range reduction.

Nicholas Talerico i use custom grip, adjustable stock, and a suppressor. In my opinion, foregrip isnt that effective to the m27 because of its high accuracy.
+master shino you can rock any attachment you want and it'll still be good. Except the silencer in my opinion. It felt like it took longer to kill people. But a QuickDraw handle is extremely useful. You'll win a lot more gunfights with it.

It reduces your effective range and damage in exchange for no muzzle flash and staying off the radar. I like to think that S.E.A.L. teams use suppressed weapons like the M4A1 or M27. In game I feel it's one of the better Assault Rifles with the Suppressor.
Ryan Pluke The ACR in MW3, along with the MP7, broke the game. It was the worst CoD ever created. The ACR in MW2 and M27 in BOII are very strong, yet balanced weapons. They can be very effective, but not OP and game breaking. I like these weapons.
I loved using the M27 when I had BO2. I used a Special Forces loadout made by chrisjspooner (with a few enhancements). I equipped the EOTech and Foregrip (you can also use Primary Gunfighter to equip the Suppressor or Adjustable Stock which will help with accuracy). For my perks: Flak Jacket, Toughness, Scavenger (utilizing Perk 2 Greed instead of Primary Gunfighter), and Tac Mask. Tac-45 for your sidearm and flash bangs. I really like using this set up on Kill Confirmed and Hard Point.
As a infantry marine ive really enjoyed the introduction of the M27. Theyve started to phase out in most units the old m4/m16 rifle variants. Some huge benefits of the m27 is that it is a piston operated system as compared to the gas system of an m4. This means it runs smoother in its operation and much cleaner so cleaning and maintenance can be prolonged between sessions. Also it has a free floating barrel which can help with accuracy. Overall a great rifle.
The reflex varies from person to person. You get a more open view, but it doesn't change the zoom from the assault rifle standard, so it depends on how well each individual fairs with the irons. The EO Tech could be a good shout, I think it's always a solid option, and you the get the nice little 1% bonus to centre speed. For the M27 I'd rather use an optic and drop the suppressor for a range focused class, and use the irons for a more mobile class.

I assume this means that the M27 uses the same platform but fires a different type of cartridge. this means that it has low recoil, and a high rate of fire while the damage of the m27 is a bit lower than average. The m27 was originally made for a squad support role like the m240 however cod game developers were like, yeah lets make it an assault rifle. As a gun nut it irks me but as a gamer, i like the m27 depicted in black ops 2 because of its low recoil.

When I use the M-27 I use the fast mag and FMJ. I find that FMJ often helps me chew through cover to get to enemies waiting for me to run out of ammo - and fast mag to reload faster - as the M-27 needs them often. :)

It is the ACR archetype of Call of Duty game and many game has variant like M27. For example ICR1 from Black Ops 3 works exactlt like M27 except people can fly in this game so it is far less effective. ARs with minimize recoil are generally too good in older COD games due to their capability of locking down choke points or objectives with pin point accuracy.
For Hardcore mode, put an ACOG scope on this and it's versatile enough for any purpose. I disagree with Stu when it comes to secondary weapons on classes, it's always handy to have a trusty pistol by your side too.

the center speed of a weapon is decreases by 2% when equipped with a suppressor. when the center speed is decreased the full auto recoil of a weapon increases. the kick values of a weapon per shot is not changed when a suppressor is equipped.
I found the combo of the M27, Fast hands, and Skorpion EVO, via Overkill, to be particularly good. With both of them, as long as you switch to the right weapon, you can win almost any gunfight.
Yes, but because it is based off of the HK416, which itself is based off the M4 and M16, it is very possible that the USMC is simply using the SAW replacement as a cover story to avoid the paperwork necessary to replace the M4. You can just fit one M27IAR with a drum mag like the HAMR's and the rest with a standard 30-round magazine in the future.
To start, I would use the Assault rifle I'm most comfortable with. For me it's the M27. In HQ I would not "RUSH" into the HQ location because enemy players carrying a SMG or shotgun pose a threat to you. To reduce the risk of being killed, keep at a safe distance away from the HQ, but also close enough to get a kill. Having a good class setup isn't the only thing you need to stay alive, but you should also use your HUD's overhead Mini-Map, pay attention to where teammates have died and ENME Fire
My m27 class- if you want to know- is m27: suppressor, acog and fast mag. Combat knife. Hardline. Scavenger . Extreme conditioning -for reaching spots to defend- and finally a grenade/ betty and 2 flashes. Thank you for reading my comment (thumbs up sign goes here)
I can understand why. With low recoil, low damage and a fair rate of fire, the M27 is very similar to the ACR, and we all know how popular that gun was.

This was my first golden gun. I have over 3000 kills with it, and i think it may be the best gun i've ever used in Call of duty history.

I hate how not many games have the M27 in them. Such a underrated weapon.
It is the ACR archetype of Call of Duty game and many game has variant like M27. For example ICR1 from Black Ops 3 works exactlt like M27 except people can fly in this game so it is far less effective. ARs with minimize recoil are generally too good in older COD games due to their capability of locking down choke points or objectives with pin point accuracy.

For Hardcore mode, put an ACOG scope on this and it's versatile enough for any purpose. I disagree with Stu when it comes to secondary weapons on classes, it's always handy to have a trusty pistol by your side too.

That's because the M27 in Black Ops II isn't really an M27 after all. It's actually an HK 416 Assault Rifle. The M27 is the LMG variant of the HK 416.

If you use select fire, foregrip, and an acog with this gun it becomes hella accurate
It's so accurate, it has essentialy NO recoil, with a suppressor at long range you absolutely dominate.

This is one of my favorite class Setups of all time. My other two favorites are the rpg and the msmc class Setups
There's something about that M4 frame that people just cant seem to let go of... 10 years from now when this franchise is gonna have laser guns that will topple any ballistic weapon out there, people will still be loyal to this aging frame, despite its shortcomings...

(ACR) 30-20 with x1.4HS vs (M27) 33-24 with x1.1HS, which means 4 to 5 shots to kill.

the center speed of a weapon is decreases by 2% when equipped with a suppressor. when the center speed is decreased the full auto recoil of a weapon increases. the kick values of a weapon per shot is not changed when a suppressor is equipped.
I read that the in game model is actually based on the HK416. And not the actual M27 IAR.

I found the combo of the M27, Fast hands, and Skorpion EVO, via Overkill, to be particularly good. With both of them, as long as you switch to the right weapon, you can win almost any gunfight.

Yes, but because it is based off of the HK416, which itself is based off the M4 and M16, it is very possible that the USMC is simply using the SAW replacement as a cover story to avoid the paperwork necessary to replace the M4. You can just fit one M27IAR with a drum mag like the HAMR's and the rest with a standard 30-round magazine in the future.

To start, I would use the Assault rifle I'm most comfortable with. For me it's the M27. In HQ I would not "RUSH" into the HQ location because enemy players carrying a SMG or shotgun pose a threat to you. To reduce the risk of being killed, keep at a safe distance away from the HQ, but also close enough to get a kill. Having a good class setup isn't the only thing you need to stay alive, but you should also use your HUD's overhead Mini-Map, pay attention to where teammates have died and ENME Fire
My m27 class- if you want to know- is m27: suppressor, acog and fast mag. Combat knife. Hardline. Scavenger . Extreme conditioning -for reaching spots to defend- and finally a grenade/ betty and 2 flashes. Thank you for reading my comment (thumbs up sign goes here)
