I think this is one of the most striking designs I have seen in years. They got the proportions just right, and I can't wait to see (and hear) one in person.
Not only a great car but brilliant videography and presenting , watched a few other versions of this video on other channels and this is simply the best version
I saw a blue Vantage at the Australian GP this year, and I don't think I've seen a more beautiful car from in the modern era. The DB11 was right next to it, but I didn't care. The Vantage is the prettiest car currently on sale, with the Mazda MX5 in second.
Perfection. This is why I wish more cars would follow the "develop the same shape for decades" approach that Porsche has made work so well. Everyone wishes they could have adjusted their designs after they have had some time to sit with them and this is what happens when you have that time.
Here we go again... now I have to explain to my mom that i’m in love again... if beauty was a number this heart’s thief; vantage should be infinity... I’m waiting till this beauty gets the naturally aspirated v12 and a leg’s dog stick shift than I’ll fall in love again... till that thank u carfection for this precious share.
I would argue that the old vantage was an absolutely beautiful timeless design in the traditional conservative sense of Aston. For me it generated a genuine emotional reaction when seeing them in person. That said I completely understand the new vantage pushing design forward and taking some risk. Some opinions expressed in the comments ripping the design to pieces are so utterly absurd I refuse to believe they are anything but desperate trolls stirring the pot. That or just a complete lack of understanding of design. I'll admit the new fascia may take a little a while to grow on me or may require tweaks in a mid cycle refresh down the road but in profile and especially a rear 3/4 this is gorgeous. The haunches, and flick up on the ducktail spoiler are stunning. Also a fan of the new rear lighting treatment and brake signature that mirrors the Aston martin grill language. Probably the most dramatic execution of pushing wheels to the absolute corners on a production vehicle. Together with the small dimensions the design just exudes tautness and a sense of energy that's ready to be unleashed. Given the directive of Mr. Palmer for the vantage and the niche targeted as more purposeful sports car as as opposed to the GT nature of DBs and Vanquish I think this is a definite winner! If this design doesn't appeal to you that's probably on purpose, buy something else. At the same time just because it doesn't speak to you don't come out and say its the worst thing ever. That's a cheap and lazy analysis and way of thinking. Consider the intent and purpose of the car and use that as a foundation to make critiques of the design!
hehe was about to post about that bit my self so seems apt I post here, was chuckling like a school boy at that bit even rewound it to hear its again just in case i`d mis-heard it lol
I find it so funny, that just a few years ago when Jaguar made their big comeback they, pretty much used the the old vantage shape as their base, and now Aston has mirrored the F-Type styling on this new vantage
That is stunning. I've never been _that_ keen on Aston Martin before (they're nice cars but they don't particularly click with me), but this is honestly, possibly *the* car of 2018 for me. Nothing over the top. Just simple and elegant.
Wow that hasn’t gone well. Looks like an NB Miata with a split lip bumper and shaved wheel arches. It also looks like it’s bent at the middle, like it was high centered. That rear tail light looks like it’s off a 90’s mercury or something.
"the engine must entertain like a yodeling goat with access to a selection of lit fireworks"... seriously.. did you think of this yourself on the spot?
I absolutely love this machine...I imagine by the time they do a facelift, add a manual and a v12 version...this will be one of the best cars in the world
Nice combination between interior, exterior and drivetrain. I just realized that this engine is pretty compact V8, 0,5 liter per cylinder, but with a lot of power.
The downsizing and more focus on sport makes sense for the Vantage since the DB11 will cover the GT segment fully. I hope to see the new Vantage in Silver at some point and first impressions are really great IMO. I´m not a MB fan, but AMG do make great engines with the best soundtracks around for high end cars, so it is certainly a quite good match for Aston Martin.
Everytime I click on one of the Carfection videos, I’m relieved when it’s you, and I can keep watching as it’s not Mr AlwaysLookOnTheBrightSide or Mr ICan’tReallyDrive ... 😂
Aston makes beautiful cars that's no revelation in a years time the new tvr griffin will be a competitor and much cheaper and looking at the prototype it looks fantastic inside and out
Aston martin should be understated . Elegant . This isnt theres something out of proportion about it . The current vantage and previous db9/s were the last beautiful cars made
Henry’s reviews are like no other. He’s right up there at the top☝🏽
I think this is one of the most striking designs I have seen in years. They got the proportions just right, and I can't wait to see (and hear) one in person.
another masterpiece from Aston Martin, so much history and design still in this brands DNA
Without doubt one of the best looking Astons ever made, perfect from any angle..
Not only a great car but brilliant videography and presenting , watched a few other versions of this video on other channels and this is simply the best version
Thank you.
Great stuff, keep up the good work Henry

Love that DB10-esque look much more than the DB11. This thing is 🔥 🔥.
Agreed, it looks fantastic.
That's why I don't like this car, because I thought the DB10 was ugly. Still do and at the moment in not liking this car.
Arya Jonathan Sadly the interior let’s it down imho.
Not for me, I think the DB11 is the better looking one.
I hate how the DB11 has a "flying roof"/black C pillar, just like every Prius or Nissan Maxima has had for years
I love it! the fact that this will be available with manual gearbox makes it even more perfect.
Yes Yes Yes....Aston Martin making the most beautiful cars in the World. This Vantage is stunning. I tip my hat to Aston Martin
i agree.....its so gorgeous
Henry Catchpole has the Midas touch with car videos. Always excellent.
I simply adore the new technology displayed in the new generation Aston ...
Perfection. This is why I wish more cars would follow the "develop the same shape for decades" approach that Porsche has made work so well. Everyone wishes they could have adjusted their designs after they have had some time to sit with them and this is what happens when you have that time.
Now this looks good! No floating C and D pillars or contrasting roofline like the DB11
Kudos for making this video! It made me fall in love with Aston Martin for the first time. It's so achingly gorgeous.. 😍
Great video, thx. The original Vantage was one of the best car designs ever. This looks very good.
My dream is to take one of those satin sheets off a fancy car.
Also you and Alex are two of my favourite car journalists. Keep up the amazing work!
Henry is the man with the keys! I am just on satin sheet duty, with the aim of one day being promoted to "boy that changes headlight fluid".

Well, that's the best, most cogent post I've read in a while! Thank you for taking the time to write it.
Thanks. Keep up the good work. I enjoy it!
“It must entertain like a yodelling goat with access to a selection of lit fireworks,” Only Henry Catchpole could describe a car this way!
hehe was about to post about that bit my self so seems apt I post here, was chuckling like a school boy at that bit even rewound it to hear its again just in case i`d mis-heard it lol
@Carfection Best Vantage since the V8 in 1990 with 550BHP/550lbs/ft. Stunning. At last an Aston deservedly carrying the Vantage badge.
Absolutely beautiful.
Wasn't a fan of the DB11...but this took my breath away. It still looks like a vantage but so clean and sleek in design...I think it'll age quite well
The manual option will be glorious.
Wow it looks stunning. I can see a bit of DB10 and DB11 in its looks!!
What is going on with panel gaps and alignment at 6:05 in the video? I hope that is just a filming perspective thing!
10/10 would buy
Drumming Ace 10/10 I would buy a Tesla roadster.
^ gay
I'm with the coffee guy
coffeeblak86 I would buy this and use it for 5 years , because that's how long it takes for the new Tesla to come
Where the 6 speed we love from Aston at??
Daniel Maia it's coming
Can't wait to see it in action.

Looks stunning but my only gripe is the shape and flow of those taillights. Great job Aston Martin, you've killed it.
Wow...I'm feeling a strong TVR vibe here.
Beautiful.
If an mx5 and a Jaguar F-Type had a baby this would be it..
omg i thought i was the only one who saw the likeness between a mazda mx5
I think you should throw in the DB10
Wow that hasn’t gone well. Looks like an NB Miata with a split lip bumper and shaved wheel arches. It also looks like it’s bent at the middle, like it was high centered. That rear tail light looks like it’s off a 90’s mercury or something.
Man, this new F-Type looks great!
Damn, Aston Martin really know how to make a good-looking car.
"the engine must entertain like a yodeling goat with access to a selection of lit fireworks"... seriously.. did you think of this yourself on the spot?
I would love stronger headlight graphics but I really have no complaints. This is a winner to me.
the best coupe I ever see in my life
this is a win. gorgeous car and lovely details. making my own on configurator as we speak. can't afford one, just making one up.
It’s gorgeous. Love the wheels and proportions.
Edit: upon closer inspection, hate the mismatched spokes in the wheels. Now it’s garbage.
I absolutely love this machine...I imagine by the time they do a facelift, add a manual and a v12 version...this will be one of the best cars in the world
Not sure about that rear end yet but the front is stunning!
this thing is really beautiful, maybe not aston beautiful
beauty, elegance oh what else can i say about this aston martin vantage. im so buying this car
Fantastic preview
6:05 just me or does that door not line up at all?
I have a feeling this car looks way better in real than on video.
OH MY GOD IT LOOKSABAZINC IM IN SHOCK
Plz make a V12 manual again
1:55 I see the typical engine builder plaque on the engine. Does this mean Aston's staff now builds AMG's engines from scratch at Gaydon?
the front reminds of a toyata supra! wicked looking car
What's the music in the backround pls?
Beautiful car btw
This thing looks perfect
no holes in the bonnet? I like it.
The jaguar version of a Aston martin, brilliant!
Looks gorgeous!
Much better camera visuals than that other channel schmee
Nice combination between interior, exterior and drivetrain. I just realized that this engine is pretty compact V8, 0,5 liter per cylinder, but with a lot of power.
Absolutely stunning car !!
Love the interior
I hit like because of that last shot with the engine start/stop button
I'm getting a lot of Mazda vibes from this design. Maybe a little RX-7 FD in the rear, and a bit of MX-5 ND toward the front. Love it!
Thanks Henry.
Definitely beautiful and 1000% better
Headlights from the MX-5 ND
Beautiful
Looks so much nicer than the DB11.
I can't help but see some Toyota FT-1 in the front end. The rest of the car is gorgeous
Waiting for the racing GT/LM version !
Did they source the headlights from the Mazda Miata?
The downsizing and more focus on sport makes sense for the Vantage since the DB11 will cover the GT segment fully.

Absolutely stunning, just a pity they don’t have their own V8 ( at least there is still the V12 i guess)
Gorgeous!
Does anyone know if theres still a v12 option?
Were is the grill ?
I wish it had retained the DB10's front end with the larger sharper headlights
Aston makes beautiful cars that's no revelation in a years time the new tvr griffin will be a competitor and much cheaper and looking at the prototype it looks fantastic inside and out
Well done!
Big step forward from the old car. That front grill though......?
I love the car........not sure about the joining tail lights though......
At first I admit I hated it. But the more videos and using the configurater it definitely is growing on me. Still love the previous model.
That looks gorgeous 😍
The side and rear are as interesting and beautiful as the front is uninspired
I'm happy for astin
Have you guys just bought a jib?
Aston Martin the face of the motor industry... The Cadillac the stomach.. epic Jezza
Aston martin should be understated . Elegant . This isnt theres something out of proportion about it . The current vantage and previous db9/s were the last beautiful cars made
im gonna miss taillight design of the older cars, really think the db11 nailed it
The headlights are dull. It looks like non LED lights you'd get on a entry level sedan
One of the beautiful car .....aston rocks.
My new dream car
Amazing car!
Stunning
It is beautiful! I would get this over any new car under $200k
Not bad, but why the Miata headlights?
