It's an album i don't need every song to be a 10. I just needed 1-3 songs to add to my summer playlist.

Wish we just got more infectious sunny Hip House tracks, KAYTRANADA should’ve been doing what he does best but him and Amine both fell ridiculously short of expectations

@MP I absolutely love Kaytranada’s work, and I like Limbo and Twopointfive quite a lot, it’s okay to think something wasn’t that good. This project was not nearly as good as either are capable of

Exactly how I felt, Kaytranada always has solid and groovy production, often too good to the point where artists need to match Kaytra's style. Aminé on the otherhand was just a lacklustre performance for me personally, especially with some of the lyric focus.
I also felt this album was advertised to be a lot more summery than it is, I was enticed by 4EVA and was hoping to hear more dance summery bops like that. So it's just a shame it just didnt stick the landing.
it should have just been an EP with 4 songs light hearted and more of a summer vibe pack then trying to make an album without much context
I wish Amine would drop another project like Limbo man.
Limbo is good but this and TWOPOINTFIVE were better and are his best projects to date imo

What am I supposed to listen to this summer if not new Aminé!?
I was telling my aunt eariler today that this was a very fun album and it didn’t really need to be anything more than that. Would I have appreciated something more deep and versitile? Absolutely. But, I really liked this album. This opinion is also coming from a pretty big Amine fan.
I consider myself an Amine fan and I am constantly wishing he would get on better beats. This project just STILL isn't good enough, sadly. I feel like greatness will just forever be out of his reach. It's not fair :/

I think it was pretty solid, but disappointing considering how good both of these artists are capable of being. Kinda wish there were more songs that matched the quality of 4EVA but still found the album quite a lot of fun.
Kaytramine was ok. I just like every other Kaytranada song better
Never thought i would see the day where fantano would give an album a 50, it was well deserved.

yeah I love Amine but this was a super weak project. The production is not good and his verses aren't good enough to save most of these songs.

Yeah was hoping for more of Kaytra's house/dance stuff but its really an amine album with some solid singles sprinkled in. And i love Amine (Limbo was great) but the album could've packed more punch.
There was definitely big expectations and it didn't meet them but I think judging it for what it was and not what I thought it was going to be its a solid, fun release
4EVA sold us a dream.

it didnt exceed my expectations jury is still out on if it met them but its a fun project! the merch drop and album cover are so fly i just wish i had that admiration and passion for the whole album. i hope this collab continues to create stuff!

I just feel like kaytranada is good, but most artist he works with on collabs, don’t always fit well with his production. In that they blend it too well they are almost replaceable
Although Amine definitively worked well on egyptian luvr before, kinda disappointed they didn’t go more into that direction

I really feel like they came up with a funny collab title as a joke and were like "well now we have to do it." It's not a bad album, but music should be better than just "not bad." Especially a collaboration, where you're supposed to come up with something new and exciting to justify the endeavor.

Was hoping for a lot more dance style beats and summer vibes like the first single 4EVA. I assumed that’s what the album cover was foreshadowing but apparently not.

4eva is like the only summer dance banger, everything else is kinda generic HipHop with a lots of sampling. Wish it had more classic Kaytranada DNA.

i think its still pretty good, some more forgettable tracks but still a lot of fun ones
The first couple times I listened I felt the same, it was good but not something that was sticking with me like Amine's last few releases. Today I listened to it on a real sound system at very high volume and I was blown away. Completely changed my opinion of the album. It is a stunning work of art, it just takes a few listens and the right hardware.

Good review. Was super hyped for this project especially with the singles they rolled out before the full release but it was just underwhelming for the most part
i think they should have just made it an EP with 4-5 songs cut out the filler and focused on making every track BANG in its own way

I don’t think this is the best display of KAYTRANADA’s and Amine’s abilities but I’m still at least satisfied by a good amount of the tracks. I think Simple with Kay and IDK is a little bit better of a project in terms of synergy between Kay & a vocalist even with how short it was
I was so excited for this album but I completely agree. This could’ve been a really cool dance or something. The singles kind of lied to us

Couldn't agree more, Melon. The only times I stopped to check the track title were on the Big Sean & Gibbs features. Those were fire.
I agree that the album missed the mark a bit, but I still had a lot of fun with it and find myself returning. I can't believe Melon's take on Who He Iz tho, it fuckin slaps IMO and made me instantly hyped for the album when I started it. Amine especially shines on it, but also Kaytra's beat is groovin and drippin with swag.

I agree. I didn’t expect much from Amine, but I did expect more from Kaytra. Most of his beats kinda played it safe unfortunately
I think it would have been better if it was a kaytranada featuring Aminé instead of a co-album. It was cool seeing Kay do these kind of beats which we haven’t really seen before but I wish he sticked to his style more!

Almost exactly how I felt. Loved the first 4 tracks and parts of the last track, but the rest of the album was snoozy.
Huge Kaytra fan and I was hoping for KaytrAminé to go as hard as they did on Rejjie Snow's Egyptian Luvr. Not gonna say it's terrible but it def could've been better. I don't spot any lies on this one
Even thought it might not have lived up to full expectations, I still think this is gonna be a fantastic summer album and the majority of it slaps for me at least

i’d give it a strong 6 real groovy it is slightly on the edge of just background music but i still sometimes have it with my airpods on doing nothing just focusing on the music sometimes i do think amine coulda gone harder with the bars but it’s was a chill project

Production is good but the album as a whole just feels very unenthusiastic and half-hearted. With that being said, it was still better than I expected. It’s certainly not a bad summer album and still has decent replay value.

Before listening to it, I thought it would be like a summer album or so, but most of the songs were the opposite vibe, like too low key

This album turned out to be way different than I expected lol not really a summer vibe, kinda underwhelming and not very kaytranada-ish beats

anyways yeah i dunno like i had high expectations for this album, but i was not completely let down. wish the songs were more bright & bouncy (lack of a better word) like 4EVA but still gonna bump the album hoping more listens over time will change my mind lol

I do agree with Fantano that it could've definetly be better and that a few more summery beats would've made it better but it's amazing, amine's flow and some lyrics are mad underrated, the features are amazing and fit so good, and songs like rebuke and ugh ugh are amazing, sossaup is good though it grows on you and that might be a thing that fantano isn't right about, and k&a is perfect for me, the beat switch, amine's lyrics, amazing, the album could've been a 10 but it's definetly not a light 6, it's realistically a strong 7 to a light 8, that's my opinion

I was excited. Been following KAYTRANADA since Hilarity Duff as a soundcloud kid, and this got REAL boring REAL fast. Like, half the album (then the fuckin snoop dog track) was devoid of any sorta creative production or switchups or anything worth hearing. Sucks man.
