I see not one person giving Big Sean his flowers on his verse, absolute master flow without cheesy bars
Yeah I haven’t been keeping up w his stuff since Detroit 2 but that record plus some features I’ve heard since then have shown a ton of growth artistically.
NFR Podcast did
deadendhiphop did too and if you know them they used to OD hate on sean 😂
Very solid album and the production was fairly well executed. I think people are gonna expect the album to be more like “4eva” with how that sounds but overall 8/10

Freddie skating on that Kaytra beat was crazy. Would be another serious collab.
He glides on almost every beat he’s on, either delivery that on point or engineer takes time to nudge his vocals for optimal gliding
@@boiardieverse there aint a beat Freddie CANT glide on. Only reason I put him above JID as far as best flow in hiphop goes
I've heard a better verse from Freddie on Jazz production. If you want a good Freddie verse check out Nightrider by Yussef Dayes and Tom Misch.
listen to insecurities off shadow of a doubt, amazing song with kaytranada production
@@maazwaseem8313Freddie is def better than JiD. More proven forsure
I was really hoping for more house influenced beats like 4EVA. Missing the Kaytranada DNA.
The exact reason I love this. Would find it so boring if every song was like 4EVA lol.
@Benjamin Damon I don't think every song needed to sound like 4eva,just wish more of the tracks had some more summery bounce to it
@@benjadamon insert bubba
Same. Or something similar to Old Goldlink projects.
I dont understand others saying they expected more hip house. This album is definitely hip house it just leans more towards hip hop at times with poppy influence
Freddie was spreading that beat apart 🔥 🔥 🔥
😂
spreddie gibbs🙏🙏
I've listened to this like 3-4 times and i'm loving it. I feel like the songs compliment Amine really well and there's a good mix of beats instead of just every song sounding like 4EVA.
right i’m surprised the comments aren’t vibing with it
amine fans will like it, kaytranada fans won't. It's nowhere near BUBBA or 99% level of kaytranada quality
@@Tightness8 Bubba was an awful record. Not understanding how this isnt better lol but 99.9% is a masterpiece and classic. Setting yourself up with ridiculous expectations if you thought itd even come close
Dudee Im saying though! Like the production really matches his style, just weird that some of my reactors not feelin it lol. I know everyone got different opinions but the production was definitely the highlight for me.
I'm underwhelmed really after the release of 4EVA, as I expected songs similar to that level and vibe. Some gems in there but overall not what I expected😥
I felt that way the first listen through but other tracks are already starting to grow on me. Give this one a second to marinate
I felt the same but it’s growing on me.
Ditto the comments above, give it another listen or two while you’re out on a sunny walk: shit hits ☀️
it would be boring if it all sounded the same
@@ISAACRICH exactly! I’m happily surprised by how they managed to switch up the sounds on this. Was dreading every song to sound like 4EVA - love that song, but would grow very tired of an album full of that sound.
surprised you didn’t like “EYE” it’s wavey in the garden with the sun out, was banging yesterday☀️🔥
I think it's great for what it is! Some nice pop rap with good summery beach vibes. Expecting something super lyrical from this or even straight up house like on Kaytranadas solo work is kinda setting yourself up for disappointment. 7/10 imo
I feel like we was expecting more of the Kaytranada side of this rather than the amine side but I still think it’s a cold album just would of lived if they had a couple more songs that where groovy
I definitely wasn't expecting the album to be what it was based off the singles, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've ran through it multiple times over the weekend and enjoyed it more and more with each and every listen.
love the album, fire. Too wavey and good vibes☀️🔥
First track interpolation of “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See” is pretty legit
I feel the same way Jon, i was expecting something way diffrent but still a fun album and some good songs on there , but as a whole i think people gonna be movin on from this way sooner that expected (i think).
great album, some of the production reminds me of the 2000s clipse x pharell stuff, amine showing that he can rap his ass off too, always thought his voice was similar to pusha t at times
Hi Jon! If you get a chance, I really think you would love reacting to Ryan Beatty's album "Calico", it's short (9 tracks, ~33 min) but it's my album of the year so far.
I would LOVE for Jon to get back to his Metal roots and check out Sleep Token’s new album Take Me Back to Eden. I’m not a metal fan at all but this album is one of the best things I’ve listened to in literal years!!!
tbh if your looking for a more summer type album, 2.5 by amine is probably the closest thing to what i expected
Finna be a great summer with this one
I'm a massive Kaytranada fan but I gotta say I was a bit bummed, I thought it was going to be more danceable, I really hope them making Kaytramine a whole separate Spotify artist means they're going to keep collaborating cuz I think they really compliment each other artistically. I think if they hadn't leaned so hard into the summer vibes with the marketing, the response would have been better cuz there's still a lot of good here.
Big Sean actually killed it
Album falls off in the second half but I do like the pharrell and Freddie tracks. As a rapper, Amine doesnt do anything new or interesting
I was thrown off in the second half of the album as well (excluding the last song).
I love that aminé sounds just like pharrell in let’stalkaboutit and jon even said it
Westside is like Madlib sample, Kaytranda drums vibes
huge kaytra fan but wee had the same take on this album. amine didn't really do much for me and i feel like kaytra wanted to show he can do more than house/dance with this one, but all the sounds feel from a time past. didnt mind the later half beats too much, gave me some alchemist vibes. really hope he gets back to his strong suit would love a beefier bubba for his next project.
Love it
5k views is insane amine is still so underrated
You gotta listen to Amaarae!!! Insane production and vibes
Can we get the new Potter Payper album?
EYE is my favorite
Album of the summmerrrrrrrrrrr
Something about the westside beat reminds me of old school Bollywood
for sure some madlib sample inspo
JD RELEASES 15MIN AGO LETS GOO
When is Rock Reacts with Simon Miller coming back 😢
anderson and knwledge clears
Freddie’s top 1. Best rapper alive.
Spready Gibbs is the most consistent rapper alive
Amine spazzing and production is maaad⚡️
Short and sweet, Kaytranada will never disappoint ever.
I'm pretty disappointed. Compared to BUBBA or 99% this is mid af
A very alternative type of album. I was expecting more Sossaup and 4EVA vibes.
Same those are the only good songs
need a solo Kaytranada album this year. need those house vibes. this is pretty good but it’s not Kaytranada great.
SBTRKT PLZ ❤
who he iz may be my song of the year ngl
This was cool but I dk has the better collaboration album with kaytranada
They promoted this like summer was coming. So I don’t think it’s on us that we expected something different.
it's a pretty good album but it's not a summer album... i see like only 2 to 3 songs playing in the club..
Was hoping for more of a hip house record, but after a few listens I'm still pretty happy with it. Favorite tracks are 4EVA, Master P, Rebuke and Sossaup. It's my least favorite Kaytranada album, but probably my second favorite from Aminé.
Which one is your first favorite by amine?
@@lupstalopez4868 definitely Limbo, it's his best writing effort and has the most standout tracks out of his projects
Your two least favorite songs are my two favorites 😂 Westside and Eye
👀✨
Amaarae killed the vibe on sossaup
Freddy went crazy
U gotta listen to juices 2 new songs on his 5th year anniversary album bro
I’m not gonna lie this album sounds kinda soulless. Don’t see myself revisiting many songs here
Disappointing album, 4EVA had my hopes super high going into it.
Jon, can you do Lewis Capaldi next?
10/10 for me. Ima summer boy and I think everybody executed perfectly. Def aoty contender
Summer vibes written all over this album , 8/10
Man just doesn’t like jack Harlow on a personal level😂
This is not AOTY. I'm sorry to break it to those people but there are many albums I can name off that easily clear this record. It's a solid record don't get me wrong but not AOTY
You should grab a dictionary, find the section in it that starts with “Opinions”
Dude is a professional hater
your an L now jon
album was fire
Album Whack

This album missed. Simple.
not as much as your comment
It was mid

I agree it was pretty underwhelming
relisten immediately.
Gangy it's been a few hours give it a second
Sossaup is one of the worst songs of the year 😂😂😂 idk how yall like that shit
