    My two hibiscus, I have two in the ground. They were not blooming. I added coffee grounds and half coffee and half water. They began growing flower buds. Now I have happy hibiscus. I have one in the flower pot and it’s all green and growing. Next year, I am planning to plant it in the ground.

    very informative. Thank you for providing the explanation. question, how do you keep the buds from falling off? I have bought a rooted hibiscus, and there are no signs of any problems with the plant, but I noticed that the buds keep falling off (the ones that are already a few days before blooming) thus I don't see my buds bloom. I have been so careful not to touch the plant or shake it around as much to avoid disturbing the buds from blooming

    Pls do let me know 🙏🏻

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  2 года назад

      @Vaishakhi Parikh, Thank you So much for your feedback and I really appreciate it! It's great that you bought one new plant and thinking to make it a huge one! Not all variety would be appropriate, specially whenever we grow in pots. If possible, please try to grow this variety - "Hibiscus liliiflorus" (No. 5 variety on this video - ruclips.net/video/C-_61MSGYU4/видео.html) Please note: I may be wrong with the name of variety. Actually, there are way too many plants and I find it quite difficult to memorize all the variety name..ha ha.. But again, another important note - 2 years back, I grew the same variety in one 10 inch pot and it was way too much taller and bushy, more than 5 feet. So, I believe that this Hibiscus Variety would fulfill your requirement.
      Drawback of this variety - The size of the bloom is smaller comparing to many other Hybrid Hibsicus plants.
      BIG Plus Point - Blooms heavily and I was able to get 18 flowers at once even though I grew in just 10 inch pot. Grows quite fast and they also become bushier and taller.
      Hope that helps..I believe you have asked me the same questions few days back in one of my other videos. Sorry for the late reply, was away due to daughter's admission on Class 1 :-)

      Thank you very much for your feedback! Pruning is required to get more side branches..we need more branch because there would be one flower one one branch. But, even if you prune at this time, you might not get desired result and best time to prune is Feb-March. I have a detailed video about pruning and if you are interested, please check out this - ruclips.net/video/hQT2_yczOcY/видео.html

    You might not answer as this video is really old.
    Still I'm asking for help.
    I planted seven hibiscus in plant(from cutting) among them three were from different varieties.
    At present 3:1 have survived, they were growing in bushes but they stopped growing any further. I water them with two days interval.
    I used cocopeat, vermi compost, garden soil mixed with sand.

      No worries, I always try my best to reply everyone..but, sometimes I miss too..if I don't upload for many days..
      Some cuttings failed..it's totally okay and it happens with all of us. You said, they are growing well but stopped growing suddenly. That means, they are lacking of nutrients. You would need to fertilize them. Also, if temperature is high (like 33-37) and they are getting 6-8 hours of sunlight, you would like to water them daily. Hibiscus actually doesn't like if we let the top soil dry out too much. Soil should be consistently moist. I believe, you would be benefited from one of my video which I uploaded few days back and it is here - ruclips.net/video/J1kB8pJurZo/видео.html
      Thank you and let me know if you have any questions, all the best!
