Been dreading losing the Stones for a while and sad to see Charlie was the first "Old Stone" to go. We don't know life without them and how lucky we all are to have been alive during these years and be able to see them live. 500 years from now they will still be popular and Charlie will forever carry the beat.
This was the end of a truly great era for the Stones. Album after album were all major hits. After Taylor left only a few albums could live up to the Majesty that was The Rolling Stones! R.I.P. Charlie Watts. Perfect song as a tribute to a very talented and gentle man.

Mick Taylor's ascending notes after each chorus are like a perfect musical reply to the slightly downbeat lyrics. Like it's saying, yes, time slips away from us but life is still a beautiful thing. A little touch of genius. It reminds me a bit of Carlos Santana's playing. And then at the end when everything falls away and you're just left with Charlie's beat, like a ticking clock. Absolutely brilliant. Charlie was like their anchor. He helped keep their feet on the ground. I don't think they would've kept going as long as they did without him. I've always loved this song and it seems so underrated and overlooked. One of their best pieces, I think. God bless that man.

It's my favorite song from my favorite Stones album: "It's Only Rock n Roll." This song flew under the radar but was a recurring theme in their music. Every " time" song from them is classic. "Tiiiiiiiiiiiiime is on my side,"" Baby, baby, baby you're out of time. " (this one has been in about 500 movies.) "Time Waits For No One" is the deepest, most thoughtful. Charlie Watts tick, tick, tick with his sticks was a stone cold genius. Mick's plaintive yearning says it all, and Mick Taylor's soloing and meshing with the almighty Keith Richards maybe the best two-guitar combo in rock history.

The best song the Stones have done in years... Charlie is gone, the end of an Era. He will be beating out some rhythms wherever his soul has gone to... Deeply, sadly missed. What would the sixties have been without the Stones??
This is such a unique song in the Stones catalog, multi-layered, beautifully executed, and would be very difficult to replicate in a live performance. In my opinion, it was M.T.’S greatest performance, and beautifully presented as a tribute to Charlie. I’m sad.
And I thought I was the only one crazy about "Time Waits for no One." It is so damn profound: "Time can tear down a building, or destroy a woman's face." You know, underneath all the hoopla, spectacular goings on of the Rolling Stones and the business of rock n roll stardom there exists two very thoughtful philosophic poets named Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. And they had a drummer who knew exactly what each song needed. What I like the best about "Time Waits" besides Mick Taylor's solo is the song starts and ends with the immortal Charlie Watts groove.
@@timmiller5913 Thank you, the compliment means everything. You know, the line that haunts me through the decades is "hours are like diamonds, don't let them waste." M.B.S. Great post. So sad to hear of Charlies passing. In 1964, my friend Perry N., had the Stones first album, as soon as it was released. In Spring of 1964, Perry N. told us he had the album and asked us if were interested in wanting to listen to it. Gary H. and me liked the Beatles and of course , we did! We all flipped out and listened to the album 3 or 4 times! All the while, we mimicked the Stones in front of his large mirror for about an hour! I was 13 at the time! Now at 70, approaching my 'twilight' years, and seeing a great musician of my life, pass, this song (Time Waits For No One), really puts this life we are blessed to have, into perspective! Never heard it before, but it really hit me. I just downloaded it to add to my itunes... RIP Charlie Watts and thanks for the post M.B.S.!

One of the most heart-wrenchingly beautiful & profoundest songs of the Stones. Listening to the relentless metronome beat that forms the anchor of this song I am reminded of my own mortality… that I will die one day. That all things pass. If they send out another Sounds of The Earth on a spaceship I think ‘Time Waits for No One’ should be on it, as one of humanity’s finest achievements. Oh yeah !!

The days of hearing for the first time a new Beatles or Stones album. Great memories!
That's funny, my brothers and I used to ape them too.
....music will go on through all dimensions, so we eventually travel with it...❤

Thank you for the four times I got to see you guys together a rolling stone gathers no moss
My favorite song , nice way to say goodbye to a class act like Charlie . Rest in peace . 🎩🕯
What an unbelievably sad loss of such a talented and lovely guy. Those of us that have had the great pleasure of seeing the Stones live are graced.
The word “legend” is used to freely these days but Charlie Watts was the meaning of the word, a legend of legends!
You’ve entertained us so much over these many years Charlie and now unfortunately it’s time to rest, rest well Mr Charlie Watts and thank you so very much. Your not gone, you’re just not around anymore! 😔 ❤️❤️🇬🇧

I am so lucky to have been alive during their lifetimes. I was 11 in 1962 when I first heard them.
what a beautiful tribute to Charlie Watts! My favorite Stone. And seeing this I realize what a amazing life these guys had/have. I hope they enjoyed every minute... I enyoued them the last 30 years of their existance. Epic
R I P- CHARLIE WATTS..........Playing drums with the ANGELS now.
Oh yeah !!
The closest, best besties ever. It will no doubt be very different for the band without their soul behind them...but im a believer in spirit and i just know Charlie will always be with them. Miss you Charlie. Rest easy.🙏❤

From as early as I can remember, I was brought up on a diet of Farley's rusks, trumpton and the rolling stones. Charlie was my mother's favourite stone and his passing has stirred up memories. Maybe he'll give her a drum lesson up there....
........... Un gran video ........... Aún no creo que se haya ido...... Gracias Charlie.
