    The energy map for an introvert is simple:
    1. An introvert is given five coins when he/she wakes up, they tend to loose coins for every social interaction they comes across.
    2. For extroverts, that's vice versa.
    Great talk, chanalizing energy is important for introverts.

    It's not about energizing
    It's about conserving your overall energy by avoiding spending too much of it from over thinking, over analyzing.
    Those over thinking and social anxiety starts when you create a persona that is not natural to you and you are Omni conscious of your every move and thoughts to say until you became paralyzed and missed the momentum of the social situation.

    Thanks for this video. Some things that energize me include: spending first hour of my day in a quiet room doing something I enjoy, meditating, laying in bed with an eye mask and ear plugs at the end of a long (reducing stimulation in this way feels so good).

    As an introvert, I find myself making the best use of my time spent alone to recharge; to reflect deeply on the things that have happened in my life in order to carefully plan ahead for the next social day, and putting that solitude activity in adjacent to another activity that drives more of my thinking ability such as writing stories just to further dive being lost in my world for fun.
    It makes me feel very fulfilled in the end, now that I completed a personal task or a fun activity, alongside with well-seasoned plans to test when the next day comes to continue being with people. 🙂

    I wake up at 5 AM for work. I say goodbye to my wife and daughter get to work where I spend eight hours having to socialize and talk to people and work with other people and then I go pick up my daughter and go home and about the same time my wife shows up at home. On the weekend it’s me keeping an eye on my daughter from morning to night. The only alone time I get is when I’m taking a crap. And since my daughter is a toddler, I barely get to do that and peace because she’s usually begging and crying right outside the door because she can’t see me. I’ve noticed for the last month or so I have had a very short fuse. I am so desperate to just have a few hours of alone time here and there. It’s unbelievable. I am so mentally and physically exhausted. It’s not even funny.

    I'm an extrovert in the body of an introvert which makes things complicated, I like to socialize and hangout with people all the time, but my body is constantly fighting against it as I feel both physically and mentally exhausted, pushing it helps a lot but once I feel burnout I don't know how to recover energy in an efficient way ;

    • @michellehickeydesign
      @michellehickeydesign  Год назад

      How interesting! What I think is most important here is that you have an awareness of your limits (even if/when you make the choice to push past it). Might it be helpful to find creative ways to "be social" but in shorter spurts, or perhaps even in a less stimulating environment? Hope you can experiment and make it a fun exploration!

    Very interesting video, thank you very much. I also feel like a strong introvert. I feel like nothing gives me really extra/additional energy except maybe sports or sleeping. I enjoy a lot solitary activities like reading, watching videos, walking in nature or listening to podcasts for instance but If I do it for long a time I start also to feel tired too. So my guess would be that we have low energy to deal with, where activities are either neutral, low draining or highly draining ? Do other people have trouble to feel reenergize with any activity like me?

    • @michellehickeydesign
      @michellehickeydesign  Год назад

      That's so interesting! I'm wondering if it might be helpful to track and be mindful about which activities drain you the most, and also how long you're able to engage before losing energy. I think that the most important thing to remember is that there is no right and wrong. Everyone is different, and there are so many factors at play. 🫶

      I think one can be a shy extroverted or a non-shy introverted.
      Shyness is about self-confidence most of the time. Introversion if I understood correctly is more about having a social battery that drains with human direct interactions, though I'm not an expert here. Anyways the videos are edited and don't need direct interaction, it's similar to wrighting a book I think, which probably helps introverts take the risk of publishing them.

    Sometimes when a person wants to help me in the matters I want to be better at, but talking to them and listening to them continuously makes me tired and irritable. Am I a bad person? That person thinks I don't want to learn and stuff. But I do want to learn. But I am unable to tell it to his face that Spending continuous hours drains me. How to make him stop talking to me for hours, no matter how helpful he is and without sounding arrogant and rude

    • @michellehickeydesign
      @michellehickeydesign  Год назад +1

      Introverts are certainly not bad people. It's kind of you to take this person's feelings into consideration.
      It might be helpful to explain that you love and appreciate their advice but that you need to take some breaks in between to absorb all of their great information.
      Consider asking them to share their knowledge through another medium, like writing or audio, so that you can consume it when you have the energy to do so.

      One of the interesting things I learned about introversion is that we make up about 25-40% of the population, which means I bet there are a lot of people in your life who feel the same way as you.
      Hang in there!
