Hey it would be very nice if you guys could make a video where you give tips such as with belt timing markers point. A list with common things where me as a beginner could hang for days 😂.
Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment. We actually have made that video! Here is a link to it: ruclips.net/video/iCGTdaffoiA/видео.htmlsi=FLdkJ-2AYG0r3ixA Hope it helps and Stay Tuned!
aisin is a nice kit, the only real difference I noticed is the belt itself. the Subaru mitsuboshi belt is made in Japan while the aisin mitsuboshi belt is made in Taiwan. no clue if there is a quality difference.
Some of us cool kids use the cast iron impeler water pump on the non oil cooler setup. Pull out the nipple that feeds water to the oil cooler and tap it and block off the feed. Then on the engine side. Use the ej255 plug. Get your self cast iron impeller water pumps
Can you guys put a kit together for installing a 2015+ steering rack into a GD? I want to up date all the steering lines to braided anyways. I read 88; GLwagon inner tie rods fit the sti rack. if all I had to cut was the subframe that be great. I dont want to cut myself out of a proper alignment cause i shortened the tie rod threads. Thank you.
Thanks for your question. Your FA20 WRX actually has a timing chain so it is completely different from these kits. We do have a kit put together for your car: www.flatironstuning.com/fa20dit-timing-kit But generally, the chains just need to be inspected. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
Thanks for the question. For a high RPM build, I'd recommend the STI kevlar timing belt. It works the best for that application. www.flatironstuning.com/rcm-high-grip-tensioner-sti-timing-belt-subaru And for that application I would recommend the HG tensioner as well. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
The OEM Subaru belt is typically either market "Subaru" or "Mitsuboshi". It would be equivalent to what comes in the Aisin kit, or the RCM OE kits (RCM uses the Subaru belt for most applications). Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
@@peterjuffs9888 Ah. That belt is kevlar reinforced, and from our experience it is the most durable, and most reliable timing belt compared to all of the other options.
@brett Wilson I’m on the same boat. I ordered the rcm dual eccentric pulleys from flatirons and honestly didn’t make a difference. I’m still looking up info and the closes to any is iag install. It explains where they need to be set at first before you adjust. I did it how iag says. Then at the end of it all I’m still off. Belt seems tighter for sure but after the 2 spins of the engine, it falls back into where it was with oem one.
For that power level, I'd say something like the IAG/HKS/STI Kevlar belt would be best. A high grip tensioner as well. I would also recommend the Alloy Cam Gears for that power level. Hope that helps and all of those are available at the links in the description. Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!
We have them all grouped together here: www.flatironstuning.com/aisin-timing-belt-kit-water-pump We also have the RCM kits for the newer STI's here: www.flatironstuning.com/rcm-oem-timing-belt-kit-15-sti And you would just need to add a water pump with that one. Hope that helps and thanks for asking! Stay Tuned!
got the RCM timing belt kit, cam gears, half moons, and belt guide from you guys last year. They've been doing well on my IAG Magnum build!
That is awesome, and glad to hear it.

Glad to hear it! And I see what you did there. Nice!

Question: Are these timing kits interchangeable on the USDM AND JDM model or they carry different part numbers. Thanks.
All the aisin timing kits for Subarus that I buy come with Mitsuboshi timing belts, and that’s a oe manufacturer. Legit stuff
Yep. They are an OE supplier for Subaru as well. We do like the Aisin kits for a lot of applications for sure. Everything you need in one box :-)

We definitely like the cast impeller best 🙂

If you cut the inner AND outer tie rods down there is plenty adjustment
I'm interested in a kit as well....02 wrx here...
Buy the subframe and rack together. Yes it will mount to a GD chassis, just need longer bolts. I used Subaru head bolt. s7_impreza 🤟
2016 timing belt kits????
Your thoughts on GReddy EJ20 Timing Belt?
Thanks for your question. I'd say it is most likely the same as the HKS, etc. A solid choice.

Does it fit the 2016 wrx?? Been looking so long for a good replacement kit

Just want to confirm that gates is no longer the go-to for stock, seems like aisin is that choice now?
Watch out with aisin belts now, just saw a video, someone had them and the bearing blew out and blew his motor.
@@murderedsubie1517 which belt you recommend to go with, just stick to oem then?
@Chinh Tran I went with Iag Kit.
What timing belt would you get for a high rpm build?

rcm makes really nice products but I wish they would provide installation instructions/torque specs
I believe you would refer to the Subaru service manual for those depending on the product you're referring to.

Can seem to find the Aisin timing kid specific for 2019 Subaru STI?
We have them all grouped together here:
www.flatironstuning.com/aisin-timing-belt-kit-water-pump
We also have the RCM kits for the newer STI's here:
www.flatironstuning.com/rcm-oem-timing-belt-kit-15-sti
And you would just need to add a water pump with that one.
Hope that helps and thanks for asking!
