    Check yr 12v ( cigarette lighter ) plug and cables don’t overheat - it’s very thin cable for all that drain - that looks like the only potential issues 👍🏼

    I still don't understand why the original system doesn't work. If it did now it doesn't. There has to be a fault with the equipment... although you've got around the problem, it's not fixed, and with that level of kit, I'd need to know why. Too many people run with the same equipment hassle free. Victron seems to be the most popular gear in the 'vanlife community' Anyway good luck with whatever you decide.

    I think using the power pack for your main source of power is a genius idea, especially having the solar to keep it going. I would definitely go down that route when I start my van conversion. I really admire your videos Shaun, what a place to live. I absolutely love Cornwall

    I went down the power station route.. works fantastic.. I have the bluetti 200max which has a 30amp output so that goes straight into my fuse box.. 400w solar on the roof to charge it.. I also have an inverter that I can turn on and off manually when the engine is running to charge up the power station using the original power AC brick that came with it.
    It all works great so far..

    I've just finished hard wiring my Bluetti ac200max into my van. It's charging through the solar and as I'm driving at the same time, double free electric.👍
    I've also got a delta 2, which if the bluetti gets low in winter I can use to charge the bluetti. I drive lorries for a living so I can recharge the Delta while I'm at work, so triple free electric👍
    Love the videos keep up the hard work.

    Hi Shaun, Dont ditch the DC2DC charger. You could fit a yellow connector to the output of the dc2dc and insert it in to the PV2 on the back of the ecoflow (you may need to tone down the output from the dc2dc in the app for the ecoflow to handle it) but it would be much faster than using the 12v socket in the front. Also I would really like a chopping board to hang up in me van! I was too slow last time!!! Loving the videos :)

      It all depends on the draw of your electric hob. These power stations can power a lot of stuff though. You should be fine on 1800w - 2400w. A kettle is normally the biggest draw.

      Yes the fan can be heard but it’s never really bothered me!
      It only really kicks in when you charge from the mains and set the EcoFlow to charge as fast as possible.

      @@andredavies6191 I have never used my cigarette lighter to charge it,they don’t give out many watts so as you say will take forever to charge!
      I tend to charge mine while at work around once a week in winter and around every three weeks in summer!
      I don’t use any heavy load appliances and only cook on gas!
      I have 8 LED spot lights in the roof,a Maxair fan,a 4kw Autoterm diesel heater,and 3 USB charging points in my van all wired into a 12v fuse box which is powered from the 30amp Anderson connector on the power pack!
      Obviously if you are going run air fryers and things power will soon disappear!
      If I charge it at full power it will charge in around 1 hour 30 mins,the fan really gets going then to keep the battery cool!
      As mentioned I charge mine at 400-500 watts! From single figure percentage it takes around 8-9 hours at the charging input.
      I’m never in a need to charge fast and can happily be in the van while it’s charging up with only very slight noise from the fan! For comparison the night heater is like a jet engine when that going flat out!
      You could fit a 200-300w solar panel on your roof and wire this direct into your EcoFlow and it will charge fine as the EcoFlow has the MPPT all built into it!
      Not sure what EcoFlow you’re looking at but the Delta Pro is a lump to move around! Mine isn’t even fixed down,it just sits there and never moves,even while driving!

      The out pit is the same if not higher as it can go up to 3000w whereas my inverter was only 2000w. If the powers took battery doesn’t last long enough you can get an add on battery for it. The only part I was worried about was the dc out put being a max of 10a but it handled my lights, fan and fridge all at the same time no problem

      @@LoveSundays I wired my camper this way but you will have a problem when you come to use a diesel heater on the cigarette plug. I found a way round this by fitting a transformer and now plug my heater, lights etc… into the 240v plug in my ecoflow. Works great now! 😀

    Hi Shaun, What size, physically and wattage, is the solar panel that's powering this unit? I'm looking to do something similar but also need to carry some kayaks on the roof rack as well.

      My solar panel is 305w and is pretty big. I made a video of me installing the panel so you can see the size of it. ruclips.net/video/Rru1cs7km04/видео.html

    Hey! In a previous Q&A video you said that you although you loved your VW, you would choose a Transit if you were to buy again. After your engine issues do you still stand by that? I’m considering getting a van to convert and after following your amazing conversion, the Transit seems like the way forward as it looks pretty square for an amateur DIY-er like myself.

      When I had my vw I still spent quite a bit of repairs. The vw gear box blew up 900 miles after I bought it luckily it was under warranty. So it really doesn’t matter which van you get you will always be taking the risk. Sometimes you get good ones sometimes they have issues

    Hi... I keep thinking about van life and my issues: 6'3", 169 snowboards (i haven't skiied yet but those would be longer). So I haven't decided on a layout yet. Just curious, but where would you keep the surfboard in the new van?

    Im trying to work out if that cigarette cable will be enough to supply a 12v TV, fridge, heater and lighting? I don't know the output draw on the cigarette bit. The cable i found goes to 15Amps i think. Plan on using it for full time stuff! Also seen USB-C wires that have 12v connections on the other end maybe they'd do smaller bits? So confusing!

    • @LoveSundays
      @LoveSundays  10 месяцев назад

      Depending on the power station it should tell you the watt out out for the socket. This cigarette output on the ecoflow is 10A which has a max draw of 126W. When I was running the the lights fridge and fan it went up to 105W so as long as your TV and heater don’t draw more than 20W combined then you should be fine. Or just don’t have the heater and the fan on at the same time. You can also get some units that have a 30A Dc socket. With that you wouldn’t have to worry at all

    • @tomc8797
      @tomc8797 10 месяцев назад

      @@LoveSundays I guess why would you have the fan and heater on together anyway! Plus the fridge wouldn’t constantly be drawing much. I got a cable like yours it’s heavy duty with inline fuse too. Can’t wait for it to turn up

      @@LoveSundays Heyy! I realised the cigarette port only gives out 10amps max but my heater needs 15amps. Just bought a 240-12v adaptor.
