I have one of those cheap Chinese diesel heaters and it switches itself off when it reaches the set temperature. It came with a little red remote controller with a tiny display. The remote allows you to set the temperature. And it doesn’t beep.
Turing the diesel heater on with the remote doesn’t always work, but turning it off does. (Much like my wife 😂)

My worry would be does it power down the unit correctly and on startup would take lots of juice when it fires back up again as these heaters demand lots of watts for starting up. So peter robs paul- gain maybe some juice and flatten your battery. Interesting device but to expensive. would be interesting to see how a power gen would show how many watts it use

My eberspacher is heavy on power too when I have it on for long periods (24/7) if I was to venture away in this weather...and why I'm not away in this weather 😆
I'd be running a generator every day or clocking up too many miles just to put charge into the batteries, not worth the hassle.
I like my warm house during winter too much to rough it in my van tbh...feeling my age and getting softer as the decades go by.

I do have a fridge and a freezer on 24/7 and I use a microwave daily as well as charging everything else i use. I’ve got an expensive diesel heater and I don’t think the thermostat control is the best way to use them.
The ramping up and down of the fan wakes me up because of the change in noise (it’s not massive but any change in white noise tone can wake you)
I just run it flat out til I’m warm, then turn it down to its lowest setting and leave it running to maintain comfort over night.
Anything else is just over complicating things.
Running it flat out next time clears any soot.

Personally I just turn mine on when needed and let it run I think this gadget starting the heater up when it feels like is going to hit your batteries really hard (most power is zapped on start up ) so unless you have mega solar and mega batteries especially during winter I dont feel this remote is a good idea. For me anyway. And as others have said my controller does all this anyway if I set it but I just turn mine on and leave it on.

The tiny, surface mounted 'beep'-emitter within that control module is usually piping it's noise through a small pinhole, molded into the side of it's plastic housing. Very similar to those electronic devices that have a 'reset' hole where you insert a pin to reset a device; it might even be only a slit or recessed indent upon the module's plastic housing.
Anyhoo...I wanted to suggest you can locate this emitter 'hole'/orifice on the housing and smear a bit of putty...a dab of regular white glue...or even a sticky adhesive label(..like the little 'fresh produce I.D.#', peel-'n-stick badges on fresh fruit..)-->OVER this emitter hole.
It will dampen & muffle that "Beeeep!" noise down to a faint, bearable level well enough. I've done this on many devices over the years.
Otherwise, darn good info on Chinese diesel heaters for vanlife'ing...👍

Not worth the price tag in my opinion. Great gadget but overpriced

at 80 quid ,it,s a bit expensive ,considering i only paid 115 for the diesel heater . if it was cheaper i would get on .

Unproven and overpriced.plus constantly turning on and off the heater will eat you batteries nearly 4 minutes at 10 amps on startup and 10 amps for 1 minute on shutdown,No thanks.

Just to let you know these are not compatible with all Chinese diesel heaters, rather it's how the original remote works. If your original remote has a screen on it I don't think it will work.
Also you can set the swing, that's the difference between the temperature it comes on at and the temperature it goes off at. If you set a larger difference then the heater will cycle on and off less.
