Lucky guy to have every think I mean he still works for it but the is a lot of guy's wishing they had it it's all a great back up and added value to the van
I know it's tempting to use that EcoFlow unit to solve all your problems. However, having all the components individually will save you time and money in the long run. If a component becomes faulty in that EcoFlow, it's a single unit and you'll struggle to repair / source replacement parts. Having all the individual components allows you to easily (usually) find the fault and replace it with the same or similar component.
Just a thought: You've got 45.4k subscribers on RUclips and all your gear is Victron. It's in their interest for this setup to work. Have you tried reaching out to them?
Instead of BLACK carpet, try different shades of gray. At least it will not seem you are looking into a black hole. I did the same thing you did with black. I never used black again. Plus black shows all the dust, and any debris pieces that end up where you store things. And the gray is brighter than black and more pleasing to the eye.
A good little tip. when your'e screwing carpeted panelling on. Put a little slice in the carpet where the screw is going, then screw it, then cover the screw with the carpet. You can always find them again with a magnet.
It was nice to hear you humming whilst you were working, even after 40 days, breakdowns, power failures and all the other issues you’ve had. Good job Sean 👍👍👍
Its been great watching your journey transforming the van. Definitely seems like the Ecoflow is the way to go and so much neater. Keep up the good work mate. Been a good laugh too!!👍
We live in Newquay Shaun and love your smashing videos. Great to see your dad and you having a go at it together too 🙂 like you say, I think the solar generator is the way to go for vanners starting their own projects. You made all the relevant comparisons to your own build, but through you're own experience you have hopefully made the decision easy for undecided builders. Keep enjoying your adventures ...cheers
Great work fella! Dont give up on the power issue, youve invested a lot of time etc into it, at the very least the ecoflow gives you time to work it out and would be awesome to see your hard work come to fruition 👌👍👊
40 days of hard graft on your amazing van and it's looking awesome and welcoming inside , everything you put together is top notch and well crafted 🙏🏻🙏🏻
On your cuoboard doors why not have doors that lift up and cover the frame work. You could also make the doors overhang the frame so when they are closed it creates a straight line to take your eye away from the slight offset from the scribe.
Nice to see you mate comeing to the end of your build been good watching Have you ever watched vanology you might know them as rolling rucks He as been doing a van build take a look👌
compromise on the packing for the wall cabinet. Instead of the "correct" 40 mm, go for 35mm to hide the gap. Not spot on perfect but a lot better than what you had. Or do it to 40mm and conceal the gap with some quadrant moulding
Please don’t waste inverter power running the fridge on 240. It will run for so long on the 12v battery putting the inverter in the way will just reduce the run time and waste battery cycles. Especially if you get the solar working.
Awesome bandaid on the power situation, down track when all the mechanical stuffs sorted you gonna try get to the power situation sorted or just see how you go? Van looks absolutely awesome though cant wait too see the adventures you have in it!
As watching you produce this wonderful project of yours,Its a "Beauty and a Gem " that shines your hard work. I heard you were going need a backsplash or tile in your kitchen - could have you use the left over floor tile you cutted for floor in that instead?
Well done Shaun lookin good I run my van with an Eco flow Delta it runs everything i can top up my leisure batteries and even run the microwave I plug it straight into the EHU
Brilliant. Watched every episode and enjoyed them all. Great learnings along the way and to be fair you've overcome all the issues you have encountered. Will be great to see you on the road again in the van stealth camping in our fabulous country. Almost sad to see the end of the build, can you do another one 🙂. All the best Shaun, happy camping.
Looking great! Suggest keeping all the electrics in place until you’re sure the power station is sufficient to power everything like the induction hob etc whilst away on a trip… keep in situ for now in case you need to use them further down the line
It's been a great 40 day journey and I've enjoyed each episode! It looks great in the van now but i hope you give the other electrics a go again and get it working.
Come on Shaun, you are so close with the electrics ! It can only be something so simple... or if you are determined to just use the Ecoflow, surely you would only use that if you can get your money back on the victron gear ? Also, to quote you "everything is fixable" All the best whatever you decide.
I've really enjoyed following the van build. You are a lot fussier than I am. It think Gadget John came to a similar conclusion on using an integrated system like the ecoflow but I keep everything in place till I'd tested everything out.
Good morning great video just want to say to you this a DC system is a pain in the backside you can spend so much money on a DC system and putting 240 volt into a van but if you look at The Brighter Side if you wire it up to the module system then plug directly straight into your battery system portable one then you can then remove any time and upgrade you don't have to fuss about wires because once it's all been modulated sorted for life but I have done a quite a few of these and sometimes it can be hit and miss but whatever you do I hope you find happiness in your van
If the solar on the van isn't charging the set up you've already got better test it charging the ecoflow before you try relying on it to go somewhere. Just saying because you tend to be enthusiastic & rush off sometimes!! 😮 Van's looking good.
Great video and congrats on finishing your van. Looks good. Great idea with the eco flow.. I’ve done the same but with the bluetti 200max. Tip for you for charging. Get yourself an inverter for your main van with a remote switch so you can turn it on when needed. That way you can charge your power station using its AC charging. You’ll be putting around 400wats charge back into the unit. Works really well. I went over kill and got a 1000 watt inverter but 500 watt would have been enough
I've enjoyed the whole build and how you show every little mistake and correction, etc 👍🏻It's nice to see how the van changed over the weeks. The highlight for me was watching your dad's perfection with that roof fitting cus that looks epic. Every video now I'm just staring at the roof 😆It does show how good the EcoFlow gear is becoming. Seriously good batteries. Cheers Shaun, can't wait to see you all out and about 👍🏻🍻
Its been great watching a "everyday" dude converting a van...you should be proud of yourself...as a side note, I've also gone the eco flow/ solar on the roof combo, no problems so far
Really enjoyed the van build journey Shaun and will certainly miss it so get another to convert. Now time for the important things in line, surfing and snorkelling. All the best mate.
Great job and nice watching an “amateur” who makes the same mistakes the rest of us would. Couple of things I would do, nice and easy but would finish it off. Some self adhesive strips of LED’s between the roof slats for mood lighting. Same under wall cabinets and a stealthy outside LED light mounted outside above the side loading door. Don’t want to be stepping out into a puddle or dog poo!!👍🏼
Got there in the end Shaun👍🏻,enjoyed following your journey every week but looking forward to you getting out and about and showing us a bit more of Cormwall 😎
Best van build ive seen. But where is the diesel heater? To keep warn. Also is it essential to put all wireing at the back ? As im thinking of sticking mine in a cubboard at the front
Looks good Shaun. Get some advice from your dad for your cupboard, as he is a chippy. Definitely try to fix your solar set up, seems a shame not to fix it. Be great to see you back out using it👍
Well done shaun your pretty much there now mate, you’ve done a cracking job of that van mate, you’ll have to come and have a celebration meadery with the family 😂😂
Great job Shaun, you've achieved a lot in just 40 days and i've learnt lot from it, looking forward to some epic little trips next even if we are heading into winter soon.
Where you've put the 40mm packer to align the cupboards , a slim profile timber moulding, stained the same co.our as the roof slats, would cover that gap and be a really neat finish. Just an idea!
You're inspiring me to totally revamp my own van. Just need to get the tools. I bought an EcoFlow like yours, and mine lasts 24 hours just powering up my laptop (30watts). So, I don't rate it at all. Could you do another video and give a bit more detail on how you connect that EcoFlow to your solar panel? I could do that... I have a 220watt solar panel and rather than use the EcoFlow one I bought with it (which is now smashed), I'd like to connect it to the fixed solar panel on my roof. I couldn't quite see how you connected them in this video. Thanks.
Great vlog as always Shaun, big thanks for explaining the eco flow and your plans to use that to power the van, we want to do this but we weren't convinced, now we are so thank you ❤
Ah guys I'm subbed to you guys and they haven't recommended any of your videos for several weeks just seen your still uploading, YT suck I'll go watch them now
Don't know if I missed something here but there is nothing complicated about charging that leisure battery from solar. 2 cables (positive/Negative) to the Victron controller. 2 cables out to the controller to the battery. It really is that simple. Either there is a problem with the wiring, or the solar panel is dead or the controller is not working. Whatever, it seems ridiculous to just dump such a expensive and brand new system. (possibly decision influenced by the sponsorship?)
wow 40 days.. been awesome watching you do your van build, just a question, on the door where it says Template, are you going to put a window in there?, just a thought it might look good. see you next time. and well done.
Hi shaun been watching all your vids been great from start to finish I am very interested in the ecoflow would be alot easier as I'm just starting to do my van and would be great without the headache of wiring it all up have you a video or are you going to do one showing how it's doing and wiring it all to the ecoflow would just like to see how it would be done cheers shaun

Come on bud , fix the solar properly , you have spent so much buying it. My Sunday isn't complete without watching your videos. Thanks Bud. Michael
totally agree. if anything it's a good back up! it's all there just needs sorting .
Agreed

Hi Shaun, I have enjoyed this series soooo much! WHAT A JOURNEY MATE! You have inspired me with your fantastic videos!
Great to hear!
Going to do my own build, got me seriously rethinking the electrics now 🤔
Instead of BLACK carpet, try different shades of gray. At least it will not seem you are looking into a black hole. I did the same thing you did with black. I never used black again. LOOKING GOOD but definitely should use black screws with the black carpet :)
Yes I will be replacing the screws
Great video again Shaun, but come on, you must diagnose the electrics! Don't leave us hanging!
Its been great watching your journey transforming the van. Definitely seems like the Ecoflow is the way to go and so much neater. Keep up the good work mate. Been a good laugh too!!👍

hey shaun, why don't you put a small LED push Light Inside That New Front Over Cab Area, That Would Look Pretty Cool. Or An LED RGB Strip... 😁
The end is so near Shaun, can't wait 'til you and the family can have some weekend adventures in it. 🏄🤿
I was waiting for someone to have the same logic & common to use powerbank rather than the battery setup
40 days of hard graft on your amazing van and it's looking awesome and welcoming inside , everything you put together is top notch and well crafted 🙏🏻🙏🏻

To hide the silver screws against the carpet use some black numberplate screw covers.
On your cuoboard doors why not have doors that lift up and cover the frame work. You could also make the doors overhang the frame so when they are closed it creates a straight line to take your eye away from the slight offset from the scribe.
Need to fit a light in that over cab storage perhaps? So you don't lose stuff into the abyss! LoL
Well done Shaun, the van looks amazing.
Great work! Looking forward to your next video👍
Bluetti power station charges in 45 mins.
get your overhead cabinet level how you want it, and do a facepiece with ply over the whole front.
Nice to see you mate comeing to the end of your build been good watching

Looks fab! You’ve done an amazing job and will soon get those finishing touches done and dusted.
Thanks so much! 😊
14:28 better to remove the wiring card on the plug ?
How would you hardwire the ecoflow so that it runs everything would you be able to do a video on this pretty please 😊

great job Shawn alot of blood sweat and tears but u got there very proud of u matey 🎉🎉

Can’t seem to find EcoFlow in North America ? 120V

Morning worth looking at entering your van into this
You should give yourself a pat on the back for all the hard work you have put in it's looking great 😊
Thanks Ann
Great video. Your van is looking brilliant xx
Thank you
Looks awesome mate well done. Eco flow looks like a no brainer 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks Paul
Morning all
Enjoy and have fun. I know you will.

Can I ask you what type of paint you used to paint your van interior.
Looks good mate
Bedankt

Top work Shaun, been a great build and the van looks 👌 and with you on the electrics,it's the route I'm going down but with a different manufacturer.
I think it will just give me more flexibility
