i'm currently living in korea as an exchange student and i'm absolutely obsessed with korea's obsession with cafes. they're such a vibe and so welcoming. the only issue is that they're open at like 11am and during the weekend i tend to like to go out much earlier than that lol but anyway~ thank you for another lovely vlog, cari 💞
Hey cari, your videos have been a source of great comfort for me especially now that I am preparing for a very big examination in my country. days have been rough but I'm fighting through it, thank you for your videos. You inspire me to continue to live my life and hope for the future
Hello Cari, I've been following your videos for a long time, as well as on Instagram. Currently, I'm living in Spain, in a small village with only 2500 inhabitants, and I came here alone with my dog. While I'm very happy here, I make a lot of plans by myself because it hasn't been so easy for me to make friends. So, when I watch your videos, I feel very identified and happy to see you enjoying delicious things or exploring places on your own and being happy. Thank you for doing this. May you be very happy 🩷.
So happy to see that earthing/grounding is becoming a noticeable 'thing' in such a busy and developed capital like Seoul. I just started to dig into it earlier this year - watched a podcast interviewing Clint Ober who's known as a pioneer of this movement. It's fascinating stuff - so simple yet so vital (and something most of us urban dwellers are missing out on). Let me just quote from the book introduction ("Earthing" by Clint Ober): "Put another way, your planet is a six sextillion (that's six followed by twenty-one zeroes) metric ton battery that is continually being replenished by solar radiation, lightning, and heat from its deep-down molten core. And just like a battery in a car that keeps the motor running and the wheels turning, so, too, do the rhythmic pulsations of natural energy flowing through and emanating from the surface of the Earth keep the biological machinery of global life running in rhythm and balance-for everything that lives on the land or in the sea. People. Animals. Fish. Plants. Trees. Bugs. Bacteria. Viruses. Throughout history, humans have sat, stood, strolled, and slept on the ground without knowing that such simple contact transfers a natural electrical signal to the body. Only recently has the knowledge and significance of this connection been explored and explained by scientific experts in geophysics, bio-physics, electrical engineering, electrophysiology, and medicine. From them, we are learning that the Earth's electrical energy maintains the order of our own bodily frequencies just as a conductor controls the coherence and cadence of an orchestra. We all live and function electrically on an electrical planet. We are each of us a collection of dynamic electrical circuits in which trillions of cells constantly transmit and receive energy in the course of their programmed biochemical reactions... Your heart, brain, nervous system, muscles, and immune system are prime examples of electrical subsystems operating within your bioelectrical body. The fact is, all of your movements, behaviors, and actions are energized by electricity. Most people, even in this scientific age, are totally unaware of their bio-electrical nature... So nobody knows that we have largely become disconnected and separated from the Earth. In developed societies, in particular, we have essentially lost our electrical roots. Our bare feet, with their rich network of nerve endings, rarely touch the ground. We wear insulating synthetic-soled shoes. We sleep on elevated beds made from insulating material... As an analogy, think of a lightbulb with a loose connection. The bulb flickers, shines weakly, or doesn't light up at all. Many people go through life with flickering or weak health. ...Electrons give the Earth's surface a natural, negative charge. They are present, as science informs us, in a virtually limitless and continuously renewed supply, fed by the natural phenomena of rain and thousands of lightning strikes per minute. Maintaining contact with the ground allows your body to naturally receive and become charged with these electrons. When thus "grounded," you automatically absorb them, which in turn reduces electrical imbalances in the body and the oxidative free radicals involved in chronic inflammation and multiple diseases. The body's natural electrical state is restored." >> Just make sure to walk on grass, dirt, sand, etc. and not asphalt - and walk barefoot or with flip-flops/sport shoes that are designed with 'conducting strips' that enable electron flow (I for one am squeamish about walking barefoot on grass/soil in the tropical climate I'm living in, so I have 'Grounders' flip-flops for that). Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Cari!
i’ve been a follower of yours for around 2 years and i just wanna say you are such an inspiring person for me ❤ hope you’re having a good day sending love and good vibes 😁😁😁
The barefoot walking is so funny to me. Ever since the pandemic, I started seen foreign tourists here in Mexico City walking barefoot around the city and was taken a little aback lol. To us locals, the street, the concrete is soo dirty, going barefoot would never be an option for us 😅. But in nature it seems way nicer
I love your vlogs so much! I've been watching your vlogs every week for over a year now! I love that you notice all the little things. Thank you so much for you channel!
Watching you before you walked barefoot on the clay, and then afterward... I don't know if you realized it, but while you were apprehensive before you did it, you were definitely more mellow, calmer and seemed at peace the last part of the video after your walk on clay. And that's with you packing for a trip! You weren't your usual tense, wound-up-Cari-getting-ready-for-a-trip self. I think it definitely did something to/for you! Have a safe and fun trip!
It's so interesting that even though I live in Seoul and have walked in almost every place you've been almost same time, your perspective on hot places and Korean traditions is very unique. I was like, 'Oh yes, there was such a place I've been to.' I think it's because of your filming skills? I don't know. I mean your video was good.
I wanna say i learned lot from your videos rather than just enjoying. So happy to see your vlogs. And your earrings were so pretty. I love it 🧚♀️ waitting for your next videos. 🩷
Great timing Cari for your video & crazy that in this video you were catching a cold, I’m recovering from a sinus infection here at home in LA. 🤧😷. Thank for taking us with you in your journey. God-willing I’ll travel to Korea one day
Love the clay trail! What a fun idea. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. The cafes the green nature walks, the yummy food. I may have to go to Korea one day! That is my idea of fun!
Louie!!!! Love seeing the doggie :) Also, so true with jeans as jeans can be weird. Better to get a bigger size and be comfortable! Hope you're having a wonderful trip in the US
Hi Cari, I’m a usually silent but faithful viewer and just wanted to say I LOVE you and your vlogs so much 🥹 praying for you and Kirk and I am so thankful to have found you here!
I love you citing 22 degrees as turn off AC weather. Where I am in UK it was 22 degrees and everyone’s been wearing shorts and talking about how great the Indian summer is
Haha yeah we noticed that this summer in the UK! But in the US we encourage people not to use the term indian summer because of its racist meaning - try just saying “the uk is hell” hahahhahah
I was watching the clock go round like a hawk waiting for the video..... yayyie 🎉 Bdw my current read is One For My Enemy 🌹 you sold this book to us pretty darn well 😅

Hi Cari! I really love your vlogs, they really made me dream of visiting Seoul and one of those cafés with such a chill vibe and delicious pastries!! It so happens that I will be having and 8 hours layover there in 3 weeks and I was wondering if you would recommend getting out of the airport and if yes, what would you recommend seeing in such a short time? Thank you and keep up the great vlogs 😊
8 hours is pretty tight but you could technically take your bags, get the train to seoul station, and walk around there for a bit! Or taking the slower train to Hongdae Station and walking there! Im just nervous about flying so im not the best to ask ahahha
i've been having the same great experience of buying pants one or two sizes bigger just so they're extra comfy, and it's wild how yeah in the mirror/on camera it just looks like i'm wearing jeans that fit WELL, such a reminder that it's easy to just get used to jeans being too tight and thinking that's normal 😅

I didn’t know you were from NJ. Hi, neighbor! And my corgi is named Louie, so we’re basically twins 😊 I started watching because you look and remind me so much of my daughter who is currently teaching in Japan and I miss her so much!!!
I am from Turkey and some people walk on dirt here too! It is for grounding and releasing toxic energy to earth I guess :) Whenever we are in our village my dad takes his shoes of and walks barefoot. It is probably just a silly belief bu it is fun
Had to pause to say that it's a constant battle to get my husband to not work as well. It's also a constant struggle to not have him feel guilty any time he's not working (cause we live in a capitalistic society etc etc). He's working on that unhealthy mentality and I'm doing my best to help him on this, uh, journey.
Actually walking barefoot is good for your feet - it releases muscle and ligaments tension, but you need to walk on something bouncy (definitely not asphalt or concrete), hence - clay.
I don't know if these people walking barefoot do it because grounding thing or because it's supposed to be healthy for your feet. It was thing here (Finland) couple years ago. Walking barefoot is supposed to strenghten your feet and be good for balance or something (not expert here 😅). There is actual barefoot shoes which are supposed to give benefits of barefoot walking with some defence against rocks and stuff on the ground.
Thats a separate thing here in Korea! There are lots of paths with stones of different sizes to help you balance. We actually have one on the roof of our apartment building hahha this was for getting rid of the toxins in your body 🤍
Re: the feeling that jeans don't fit right after Summer.... I feel like I always have this after not wearing jeans for a while, because I'm just not used to the whole leg being covered and having something tight around the thights/stomach, but then after a week or so it feels normal again 😂
i have a tv recommendation for you!! “Our Flag Means Death” it’s produced by Taika Waititi and it’s about pirates and it’s goofy and gay and beautiful and also not too long!! i promise it will HOOK you
I love the chill style of your vlogs. They’re much gentler on my brain and eyes than constant smash cuts and sound effects and zoom ins 😂

I got them from an online shop over a year ago so sadly i don’t remember 😭😭😭
Those baristas who told people to get quieter would have a nervous breakdown in Balkan cafes lol.
Have a great trip. Take care
Thank you!
I am from Turkey and some people walk on dirt here too! It is for grounding and releasing toxic energy to earth I guess :) Whenever we are in our village my dad takes his shoes of and walks barefoot. It is probably just a silly belief bu it is fun
I love it!!

Come visit Arizona some time ♡ 😊
I absolutely love walking barefoot, but I know I would slip and fall flat on my ass in the red mud 😂
There were some treacherous spots 😂😂

Had to pause to say that it's a constant battle to get my husband to not work as well. It's also a constant struggle to not have him feel guilty any time he's not working (cause we live in a capitalistic society etc etc). He's working on that unhealthy mentality and I'm doing my best to help him on this, uh, journey.
Exactly 😭 good luck to all of us!
❤❤❤
^____^
It’s called “earthing”
Its called both grounding and earthing! Interchangeable!
Actually walking barefoot is good for your feet - it releases muscle and ligaments tension, but you need to walk on something bouncy (definitely not asphalt or concrete), hence - clay.
This clay is also famous for releasing toxins! Its called hwangto in korean!
I’m still curious, what was your take of Past Lives? I’ve been wanting to watch it since the trailer first came out.
I loved it! I think people hyped it up a bit too much so i was expecting my mind to be BLOWN but it was a beautiful heartbreaking film!
Hi!!! 💛
👋👋👋
Why is Louie just so adorable!! What breed is he?
I don't know if these people walking barefoot do it because grounding thing or because it's supposed to be healthy for your feet. It was thing here (Finland) couple years ago. Walking barefoot is supposed to strenghten your feet and be good for balance or something (not expert here 😅). There is actual barefoot shoes which are supposed to give benefits of barefoot walking with some defence against rocks and stuff on the ground.
Thats a separate thing here in Korea! There are lots of paths with stones of different sizes to help you balance. We actually have one on the roof of our apartment building hahha this was for getting rid of the toxins in your body 🤍
but..... we need to know what happened to the persimmon?
😂 i passed them to a friend who could eat them later

Re: the feeling that jeans don't fit right after Summer.... I feel like I always have this after not wearing jeans for a while, because I'm just not used to the whole leg being covered and having something tight around the thights/stomach, but then after a week or so it feels normal again 😂
Can you talk about your experience getting botox in Korea? thanks
See my last video! I have never gotten botox lol
