Walking barefoot is called 'grounding', and you're supposed to walk on actual earth (dirt, grass) instead of concrete or asphalt. It's supposed to help balance your body energy or something like that. Look it up, it's very interesting. BTW, I want you to know I REALLY appreciate the tasteful music you choose for your channel. It's so refreshing to hear music that isn't too loud or annoying. As always, thank you for taking the time to make these!
Yes I knew of this but was surprised to see it in Korea since theres such a focus on not bringing the outside into the house /having dirty feet etc! I didnt want to be the weird foreigner walking in mud hahhaha
Cari: "I'm feeling my age this summer." Me whose whole body lights up like a dashboard whenever I wake up: Ok, girl....LOL, in all seriousness, I appreciate these videos. I don't get to travel anymore so I love opportunities to see different parts of the world!
the number of times i've told myself 'i live here now, i'll just come back another time' is tooooo much, this just inspired me to get out and start doing stuff cuz i'm not gonna live in korea forever
Past lives had me in a chokehold when I watched it. I couldn’t move on from it for days. Its about these two childhood friends in Seoul, who lose touch when the female leads family migrates to America as a teen. When they reunite years later, she realises how some part of her is still stuck in Seoul but she’s helpless and cant do anything about it because she has moved on so further in her life that there’s no turning back. As someone who moved from Asia to north America, her character hit me hard. Living that dual life, loving the life that is now but yearning for that past life is so bittersweet. Easily the most beautiful film this year... and that ending scene ughh
I am also stuck between my asian life and my western life and indeed many bittersweet memories. Celine Song captured so much of that longing and then the performances of Yoo Teo and Greta Lee are breathtaking. For a fun contrast I lenjoyed Teo in Love to Hate You on Netflix.
@@lululand1653 absolutely! while Greta lee was brilliant, Teo yoo aced that role. the awkwardness, the desperation, he covered every emotion so brilliantly. that scene when he finally realises he has lost her and needs to let go and the conversation of what if... broke my heart
Your cafe hopping made me start my mini coffee shop ♡ thank you for filming such cute cafes there. I still have to earn a little bit more so I can go on vacation in SK. Have a great day & stay healthy and safe! 🌻
I got to Korea recently and I am in Seoul for the first time 🥹 I have watched your videos long before coming to Korea. As a content creator myself, your videos inspired and motivated me a lot to one day create my own videos in Seoul too. Now that I am here, I AM FINALLY DOING IT! I wish you the best for your content and channel in the future. Keep growing while sharing your life story 💖
Love your channel! When I lived in Korea from 2005-2011, I often saw people (more elderly than young) walking barefoot on the rock paths specifically designed for barefoot walking. They were usually at the base of hiking trails or trails leading up to temples. I tried it sometimes after hiking and felt it was both painful and therapeutic. Watching your vlogs brings back so many beautiful memories of my time in Korea. Sending you much love from northwest Washington state. 🫶🌲
Hey Cari! So in my country (Pakistan), people love walking barefoot on grass early in the morning. The thought behind that is that walking on cool morning dew calms and cools your mind and eyes. My mother is a huge fan of doing that and it is like a ritual for us.
the moving kdrama is so good. I began watching it thinking it was going to be a cute silly high school drama and that the main characters happened to have superpowers... and oh boy, it's so much more than that. It made me laugh, cry, get angry and cry. Oh, and yeah, cry. But I swear it's worth watching. The crying was more because of everyone's back story so it's not that things end badly, don't worry. And maybe it's just me but I feel like it will get a second season... I also recommend watching A time called you. It's one of the best dramas I've watched. The storyline, acting, cinematography and just everything about it was amazing.
hi cari, watching your vlogs for the first time in a while as i've been so busy with work and school but i just wanted to say that i'll finally be studying abroad at yonsei next semester
Finally got home from all my travels, and what a perfect way to unwind that catching up with your last vlogs Cari. Your channel always feels like coming home.
oh cari🥺 just came here to say how I love your videos and how they always make me feel calmer and happier with life. I love seeing your video shoots, they are always so beautiful✨🩷 thank you so much for your work here on RUclips!
Sounds random but your web browser is so pretty! I noticed it in a previous video too 👀I'm curious to try out Mirror although i'm SO used to chrome haha 😂
19:50 Matcha Yoghurt Berry Bowl... BTW it's delicious (I use just a half scoop of that Matcha powder... I also add lecithin and dried goji berries, because why not)... you should make this recipe a YT short
I visit seoul once every couple months and because of how often im there, i always push off doing things to ‘the next trip’. but your video made me realise I should really get the most of the time i have there, especially if im paying for flights and accommodation 😭😂 lovely relaxing vlog and your eyes are really pretty 🥹
i actually sort of rescued a cat today? I put your video on pause for it and now i'm back watching you and there's a cat on my bed. I always wanted a cat i'm so thrilled. Sorry this is random lol
Have you watched Wheel of Time? My husband read the books but I havent. We've both been enjoying the show though! Thanks for the great video as always 😊
Lovely video as always. Ive been putting matcha powder in my breakfast yogurt bowl for a long time. I agree with you. Matcha always sounds good but it's a production to make. Easier to throw it in yogurt and mix. Try it with cacao nibs, bananas, cinnamon and some honey. 👍🏼
Hi Carii! Thank you for another one of your great vlogs! Such a good way to spend a cozy sunday 😊 also thank you for linking all the places in the bio. I'm saving everything on naver for a trip to seoul. Until then just living vicariously through you haha
I see this a lot in daegu! They have places to store your shoes and wash your feet afterwards too! I’m interested but haven’t tried it. My husband says it’s good for your health!
Yes! I’ve been in Seoul a month, staying near Yeouido eco park, and was so fascinated by dozens of older people walking through the woods barefoot! I wondered how normal that was. 🤔😂❤️
omg I didn't know a device like candle warmers existed 🤯i live with cats and I always worry about them accidentally hitting it while it's lit. I'm so happy this exists. I literally just ordered one. Thanks Cari !! ❤
I wonder if you drank a hard cider? It's quite literally the only type of "beer" I can drink. Or something like a Redd's apple Ale (I know you said it was from their brewery). Yeah if it's gonna be an alcoholic beverage, be fruity (and sweet for me)!
Re: MOVING... trust the process... it starts slowly and you have to absorb the content, it's not spoon fed or formulaic... I loved it and I believe if you keep watching you will enjoy it too
It’s a great show and I love the characters and different family dynamics. It’s surprisingly a wholesome show. I was more interested in the parent/children relationships than the superpowers. And omg the whole back story of both the main characters’ parents 😭😭😭 I cried my eyes out. Tho I do think the ending was a bit odd. They spent a lot of time on the school fight and having like 5 episodes that are 40 minutes long felt so unnecessary, and maybe I feel like that bcs waiting for the episodes felt like eternity. I think that they could’ve easily edited everything very neatly to fit into 2-3 episodes instead of 5. But anyways, I hope there’s a second season because I want to see the characters again 😭🤧 I miss them all
I love this vlog. also question, on kindle how expensive are the books like to buy? im asking because i just bought a new desk and assembled it and i have a whole lot of books. i wanna save room lol. Like on the phone. Is the kindle app free? ilyyyy ❤

👋🏻❤🇫🇮 liked this vlog as always.😊 barefoot, best in summer (only at home) not in shops/streets. When I was little, I didn't wear shoes much in the summer.🙈😂
