Thank you for this. I didn't have any of the tools you suggested but with this video I managed it with a paperclip and an eyeglass screwdriver

Great video - went to Wal Mart to fix a band in a watch I bought on their on line store. Jewelry department didn't know how to fix this type of band so we watched this together and she fixed it- thanks

What if you have pins that don't have oval cut outs and don't have regular pins how do you remove them?

Did not work for Armitron watch, with no holes in the band. Needle nose pliers in Walmart's "watch fixing kit" was too large to fit in the holes. The links are 2x the size @ 2:55, under the thumb and in the pliers.

The t-bar came out easily enough but I have to think there's something else holding the link in place. It's looser than it was but too much pressure appears to be needed to separate the links. This is on an Eddie Bauer Steel Watch 5468.

Would be nice to have this tool. Instead used a pair of (larger/normal) pliers and bent a small tip of a paper clip, to form an "L" shape. Slipped it in and under to hook out the bars.

Thank you. Just saved me £8.99 at the local jewelers. Took me 3 minutes. That's quite an hourly rate they can potentially earn.
