Igo Dreamer - Yeah I bought one this week. Most of the official games seem to be hentai novel shovelware. It’s the emulation and homebrew ports which people actually want to play that make it still one of the best modern handhelds.
i've commented this before but i'm a fan of psx i grew up with it even blew alot of money to mod the ps1 but sony is just a money hungry asshole these days, most psp is proprietary memory card with bad controls and you need a hack to use a sd, on switch it already takes sd and is parntered with hori one of the most famous fight stick companies ever so you can play tekken/sf etc
I just joined the community last week when I hacked my psp and vita - definitely late to the game but it has been awesome to discover channels like yours that really help newcomers - appreciate it man.
Its never to late to enjoy a wonderland of awesome games for one of the best handhelds of all time. Screw that nintendo rip off with the switch and the switch lite

Juan Rojas it comes down to your taste in games, some games age better than others , some are just nostalgia, and then there are the classics , all In all , not much gaming gets done.....
For jak and daxter, I've found you don't even need an overclock. Just turn down the resolution and bump up the FPS lock to 30 and its smooth enough. This might be the case for the other remasters with lack luster performance. Unfortunately, Jak II and III don't have frame limiter codes yet, as far as I know.

heh, funny enough because of lockdown i was gearing up to stay inside for months so i looked for these games at a used game store, found all of them, and i mean all mentioned in this video, and walked up to the cashier and he recognized all the games and asked if i was turning my ps vita into a ps2. we had some small chit chat about what our favorite ps2 games were and it was great.
Since god of war has fps drops even though it's fully ported for the vita then idk if you could run gta san andreas with more than maybe 15 fps but I'm no expert on these nor do I have a vita so idk
Just started Ratchet And Clank 1 yesterday on my vita i never had a ps2 back in the days so i missed out on so much ps2 title i played sly cooper 1 and 2 and loved both played gow 1 and 2 on my vita too
I Wish Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 and HD 2.5 Final remix collections were released on the Vita . Being able to Play KH2 Final Mix on the go would have been perfect

The principal problem is that they making a useless improvement of textures, that is the reason why these original PS2 games runs worse on Vita, PSVita is powerful than ps2, some games demonstrate it
These games were actually marketed well. They were released alongside or close to the release of their ps3 counterparts. Persona 4 Golden was a vita exclusive until 2020. These were official releases that came on cartridges and they aren’t hidden on the store at all lol. I have most of them and they don’t run that badly.

Cool. Youve show Ratchet and clank. I love that serie. And the games run very well on Vita. I never had one framerate drop. Or anything like that. Its perfect. I recommand everyone to buy it. Its the first time i got introduced to this serie. Its so much fun. It looks amazing. The graphics are between ps2 and ps3. Youll be blown away in comparasion to Jak and daxter...
I don't think ps2 emulation is as far fetched as some think. I suspect the reason RaC collection performs so much better than JaD collection is because it was a true port. Such little investment was made on development in JaD its possible its more emulation than a port. Consider how performance of these games are unrelated to graphical fidelity, which feels like another sign there's a bunch of emulation going on.
you actually missed a few like odin sphere, cell damage, samurai warriors 2 HD and earth defence force 2, so this isnt even close to being all of them.
The problem with Ratchet & Clank Collection on the Vita is the audio. When you enter a new area on a new planet, the music doesn't change & sometimes the music doesn't play at all.
I’m sure that capcom and Sony would have been happy to oblige if you were willing to pay for it , they have been known for this in the past and in today’s time as well, sucks that Sony pulled the plug due to plp just wanting to hack their console to play other console games, that would eventually get a port on a modern system, in some sorta beautiful remaster version that would light a fire under the new gen of gamers.

@@Matanumi LOL yeah, I tried it on my OG 3DS. It seem to run worse than the PSP n64 emulator. I don't understand why emulation on 3DS is so bad compared to PSP.
What I also did was in Adrenaline I took all the PSP games that I know that are also on the PS2 (excluding the ones that were exclusive to the PSP first and than ported to the PS2) and put all these games in a separate folder called "PS2 Games".
I own Ratchet and Clank trilogy, the Jak Trilogy and the MGS collection and the only games I had problems with on those collections was the Jak Trilogy. The Jack Trilogy ran like absolute arse
@Paul C I mean, it can't really run RE Revelations 2 very well, but that's due to extremely poor optimization on Capcom's part rather than hardware limitations. If the Vita can run Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Killzone: Mercenary, and Danganronpa Another: Ultra Despair Girls, it can easily run Resident Who 4, especially since that game was originally designed for the GameCube and the Vita is significantly more powerful than the Wii and PS2.
Technically those are called game ports. To call them ps2 games is incorrect since they run natively on the vita. Similar ps2 ports were also made for the psp, Tony Hawk and Burnout series for example.. this is old news
I wonder if those ps2 ports can be used as a backend for porting other ps2 games.. unless they were built from the ground up. I know some of them required tweaks, but i wonder to what extent
It's a shame they didn't add the feature of. Playing ps2 games on the Vita, could've made the system sell more I know that would made me excited being able to play psp psx ps2 ps3 PS4 and PS Vita on a handheld would've been. Nice
@@megazenn22 but how do they work then if theyre not ports. The Vita is way too weak for PS2 emulation. It can only nativelly run PSP games since it has built in MIPS R4000 cores.
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 all of these are ports/remasters, and Odin Sphere: Liefthrasir was released on PS3, Vita, and PS4 simultaneously, so it should probably count.
The Ratchet and Clank collection works fine. I just foud some sound glitches in the first game, like the planet´s music plays even in zones that is supossed to change and some weapons/ gadgets don´t sound as the ps2 version. I didn´t notice any issues in the other two games.
as great as the elf file emulator is it is just a proof of concept to show people that emulation is possible but in general emulating such a strong console (ps2) on such a weak one (vita) is just impossible at playable framerates
@@Saturnsonic95 doesn't matter, emulation takes multiple times the strength of the console (it is why we can barely emulate a ps4 even though modern pcs are stronger than it)

Yeah n64 on my PSP go is sketchy at best lol. I have the deadalus 64 emulator. From what I've heard it's the best one but I couldn't say. I've just started jailbreaking recently

@@MattTheWab Warriors and other PS2 games that came out on the PS2 were watered down versions of the PS2 game, but the ones on the Vita are pretty much the "Full" version on the Vita, a lot less watered down although still slightly watered down. A new Vita would easily be able to Fully Emulate the PS2 and even Port some of the PS3 Library. The Switch is like a customized Flagship Tablet or Phone and there are even PS2 emulators on Android, they don't run very well but most emulators are non profit, imagine if Sony threw some money at their own PS2 emulator and maybe even PS3 emulator for a new handheld.

It might be a stretch, but Persona 3 Portable for the PSP could also be considered a “PS2” game. It originally came out on the PS2, but got a remake on the PSP. Granted, the graphics are worse and it’s missing the “Answer” portion that P3FES has, but it will run on the Vita and PSTV.
Imagine if the Vita had inbuilt PS2 emulation, like the PSP had inbuilt PS1 emulation. We can only dream...

Use the overclock plugin and run the tea elf file again. I want to see FPS differences.

The vita was capable of playing PS3 games maybe downgraded a little so why would you need to overclock the cpu for PS2 games

take note. the mgs collection on psv comes with mgs 2 and 3 but the ps3 and 360 version comes with Peace Walker aswell.

Probably the most games that might not work are Guitar Hero and Rock Band games because you need instruments and mic to play.
Technically none of these are ps2 games... They're ports of the PS3 versions or "new games" (persona 4 golden)

@@MattTheWab Warriors and other PS2 games that came out on the PS2 were watered down versions of the PS2 game, but the ones on the Vita are pretty much the "Full" version on the Vita, a lot less watered down although still slightly watered down. A new Vita would easily be able to Fully Emulate the PS2 and even Port some of the PS3 Library. The Switch is like a customized Flagship Tablet or Phone and there are even PS2 emulators on Android, they don't run very well but most emulators are non profit, imagine if Sony threw some money at their own PS2 emulator and maybe even PS3 emulator for a new handheld.

There's no PS2 emulator for the Vita.
The "emulator" Play! it's just a proof of concept made by the developer xerpi.
It might be a stretch, but Persona 3 Portable for the PSP could also be considered a “PS2” game. It originally came out on the PS2, but got a remake on the PSP. Granted, the graphics are worse and it’s missing the “Answer” portion that P3FES has, but it will run on the Vita and PSTV.
Most people already knew these games were on PS Vita. Infact, all of them were ported.
