I found a whole pallet of those cold weather MREs when i was in Afghanistan. Nobody else really had the means to boil water though. It made my MSR stove worth every penny id spent on the thing. Those cold weather ones are sooo much better than the standard MREs. Even the egg meals were good. I ate real well that winter in the mountains.
@richardjohnson4052 I wasn't quite on the hammock level, but always had a book and a stove. Nothing better than a hot cup of coffee in the morning, or a book to read when you have time to kill.
Good to see you again Nathan I enjoyed seeing a new review. I hope you decide to do more but I do understand as a person who loves to try combat rations from around the world it can get very expensive. Thank You for sharing this with us.
I was literally thinking about y'all yesterday and how I missed MRE reviews. This is crazy! Haven't watched a single MRE review on any other channel since your last video about them. Welcome back, hope y'all are doing good.
@@jasonrichardson1999 The point is Steve1989 is better and more viewed by a large factor, because his channel is better. This channel is just a bad copy. This kind is just a taster. Steve knows the history behind MREs.
@@jasonrichardson1999 I am glad you agree he should stop doing the MRE reviews and just have his other channels. Nobody watches these videos, especially if Steve1989 has new content. I am not sure how it was even recommended to me? I guess I have to block it or something.
I was herding sheep in Montana when a team of Special Forces training nearby stopped by my trailer and dropped off two cases of these. I was already familiar with MREs from my time in the Army but these are on a different level. The turkey tetrazzini was great.
Great to see you back in action! Was practically screaming at my monitor for you to remember the Tabasco sauce, lol. I would have mixed the chocolate powder, coffee, non-dairy creamer and maybe the sugar packet together and added twice as much hot water - mocha! I also would have added twice as much water to the fruit drink powder, but that's only because too weak is infinitely better than too strong with that stuff, IMHO. Thanks for the tip about draining the water off the reconstituted eggs!
Actually, the title of this video is kind of Clickbait because I just turned 54 years old this month and I have never even heard of this meal so apparently you can live without it lol
Nice to see you're back nathan - I enjoy your reviews very much. I know what you mean by "tomatoiness" in tabasco, however it does not contain tomatoes - weird eh? Only peppers, vinegar and salt.
Love the channel. I've been working through yer old vids, and am glad to see some new ones. (I, too, just found some MRES that I'd forgotten about, that I'd received from my uncle who was a paramedic in the forest service... they're nothin' special, but it was a nice find anyway, so I can appreciate your discovery... Cheers, and thanks for the entertaining and informative- and hunger provoking- vids!)
HE LIVES! I was thinking about you recently wondering if you vanished form the tubes... ? Question is, how do you feel? Do you want to keep going? I do know you'll still have viewers to watch your vids!
checked in on your channel about 2 weeks ago and seen a ghost town, and here you are back at it Glad to see you, brother. Your reviews have always been by far the best on here straightforward, honest with no bull crap intros and small talk
I subbed because of your content. I enjoy it. Why would I want it to end. I'd understand if you stopped. But I'll sure as hell keep watching em if you make em. And I want to. Continue please
Welcome back Nathan! It is good to see you back and posting. I hope that you continue posting, but as others have said, I understand that this is an expensive hobby. Good luck and best wishes.
When I was stationed at MWTC Bridgeport CA from 1987-1992, we had these, I really liked them over the standard MRE's, I wish that I could get my hands on some of these.
Good evening from the Great State of Texas. Glad to see you are back. How does the military heat up the water needed for this style of mre? Thank you and have a good day.
Welcome back! I still have 1 MCW here, but can't remember the menu or date? MCW's always have large mains that usually hold up, as you well know. With That fresh, most or all of your components should hold up nicely. All of the fruit punch either foams or clumps these days. Tabasco still rocks. Cool meal, cool review. Peace, John.
good to see ya again. real talk, would love to see full production again, but monetarily and algorithmic status, id fully understand if these came out as a hobby or side interest for the time being .

Whenever I did an overseas tour, I took an esbit stove, a pocket hammock and a paperback book. I always had a good meal and was well rested.

That sounds lovley
I can't believe any deployed grunt would go into the field with out a way to heat food.@@richardjohnson4052
I never saw one in 12 years. For the longest time I thought they were a myth.

Steve1989 posted an MRE video after a while off a few months ago, and now Nathan returns! A bright spot in a messy world.
Steve1989 has close to 700K views on his new video and over 2 million subscribers.
