"He was my friend... And he was dead... and they were the only words I knew."
    Unsung Hero
One of the most saddest deaths for me in GoT. The way Beric said "Thoros" just destroyed my emotions - he lost one true friend.
I created something here, tried to show the character, he deserves a recognition. I hope you'll enjoy it !
Thank you for everything, you are awesome and, as always, stay awesome.
    - I want to thank these people for their pledges: Oskar Frode, Kira Ernst, Maggie Seider, Carpine Olivier, Kieran Rice, Bethany Vann, Jonathan Kuruc, Flor Tejada, Jack McCann, Georgia Kelly, Henning Just, Andrew Sinnott, Bilaal Afzal, "retonho", Lachie Gordon, Sean Stubblefield, Matt Zweig, Ivan Malov, Christian Mitchell, Kirk Beatson, Maike Waldorf, Michael Robb, Matthew Webb, Joe Lott, Camille Bulaclac, Rachel, Tuck Carrara, Janis Lapels.
You make my life better !

Barristan got taken out like some punk in a back alley by a bunch of nobodies.
Blackfish died OFF SCREEN by some random Lannister Soldiers.
Thoros on the other hand went North of the fucking wall to face the army of the dead. He was viciously mauled by a giant flaming bear. But he still got back up again and continued to fight till later succumbing to his wounds at the frozen lake and was then cremated by Beric, his best friend. A very fitting end for a red priest.

But he was friendly, kind and in his way, honorable. One of the only people who also saw the Hound for what he was, and not for what he let on to be. Amazing casting choice for the character, too. The Lord, the thing game of thrones does well, is develop characters and stories even when they are not shown on screen.
Benjin was the person that started Jons entire story, and had a lot of mystery and intrigue around him.
Thoros is one of the most unique characters on the show, and his character and personality always managed to stay memorable.
Anyone else love Beric. He's my favourite character.

    • @slagathor54
      @slagathor54 7 лет назад +27

Are you serious? There are many reasons to like a character beyond how developed their story is. I also really liked both of these characters, Thoros was funny and just a welcome relief from the seriousness of the series, and Benjen was somewhat enigmatic and just cool as fuck. The fact that he didn't have much of a story didn't hinder the fact that what we had of him was really endearing. For instance he was good to Jon in the beginning of the series.
A good example of this, and one of my favourite characters for a long while, was Jaqen. He was mysterious and interesting but the more we saw of him the less interesting he became.

"I used to joke that I became a red priest because the robes hid the wine stains. But the wine itself hid a unbelieving heart. When Beric's eyes opened....so did mine. I fell to my knees and praised the one true God. (...). The Brotherhood was the people's only defense. We became the brothers of murdered siblings, husbands of murdered wives, and fathers of of murdered children, led by a murdered man. Once, we sought to bring the King's justice to the Realm. Now, we bring the Lord's....Or at least we try."
    - Thoros of Myr (in the Histories and Lore video for the Brotherhood Without Banners in the season 6 extras).
Rest in Piece Thoros. TheGaroStudios has brought light in your hour of darkness.

Perfection... In my opinion your best tribute so far. The music, the scenes, Thoros speaking... gives chills every damn time. Really catched the mood.
And now after Season 8 there is no one left in Westeros who had seen him in his best days.
    An unsung hero.

Thank you so much Garo Studios for giving the right relevance to an amazing character . This video gives him justice because I think many people - show watchers - underestimated him. Honour to Thoros of Myr the bravest!
And I find his final words - funny old life - one of the best quotes of season 7

He didn't have any grand plan or prophecy to follow when he brought Beric back to life the first time....he just wanted to give his friend the only peace he knew. If more Red Priest's were like Thoros, I think the Lord of Light would be better for it.

If only we could see that charge. Always gives me goosebumps whenever I hear Jaime and Jorah talking about his charge in the video. Superb editing and timing! 10/10
