Hello and thank you my friend🙏. Iam very glad you like my videos. The HDP50 is a very nice pistol with good power right out of the box👍💥. Just remember to shoot 12,5mm balls and not 12,7mm since they might riun the rubber-detent. I can highly recomend the pistol 😃👍
Jon, I have a upgraded HDP50 from HOTSPOT Airsoft. It is brutal. Do you think he just removes the restrictor as seen here, or is there some other magic he ads? I have been using it as my EDC over the S2 by the way.
Very good testing my friend...it should be noted that steel ball bearings will not fire out the sniper barrel extension...bore size is too big for the barrel. However they will fire out of the tuning barrel and extension.
First of all, thank you for all the work you've done on your channel. I'm using the HDP 50 11 J without restrictor with the recommended steel balls 12.5mm, 8 gram Could you please list all the main precautions to be taken to keep this gun in the best possible working condition using only this configuration? Thanks again and take good care.
Thank you my friend. Iam very glad you like my videos. The HDP50 seems to like 12,5 and 12,4mm balls best. Just remember to lube with some siliconeoil/spray before putting in the CO2 canister. Dont keep the magazine loaded fully or the spring will take a set. If you keep it loaded then dont put in more than 4 balls max. Think thats about all when it comes to this pistol. Hi. I used to shoot with airguns and had a big collection. The true energy is around3 joule or so. Still good power for an airpistol. With the right pellet I think it will make holes in tincans at close range 🤔
@@runerebel8441 Hi! In my experience I had a very good performance using the PBA Armor by Gamo. They're pretty expensive as pellets and pretty rare to get in my area but they have been able to pierce hard and thick plastic at 6 metres after 16 shots in a CO2 capsule. I think they have a good balance between the shape and the weight (6,8 grains, circa). They have a round point made with copper and the reest of the pellet is made with aluminium if I'm not mistaken. I'm satisfied about power and precision if I consider I bought it for 150 euros only (in my area many CO2 guns are sold for 200 or 300 euros so the Gamo PT-85 is cheaper). I also have a Gamo P900 single shot airgun but it is less powerful than the PT-85. I just use it when I don't have so much leisure time for shooting because I'm not forced to shoot a CO2 capsule until it runs out.
@@runerebel8441 yeah, it's very good considering it is a cheap gun. The spring piston guns are indispensable for who shoots airguns and it's not always possible to use a CO2 type. Adding a spring piston model to a CO2 it is a very comfortable combo. 🙂
So, If I have a completely stock HDP50 11 joule version, All I need to do is remove this restrictor in there with a screwdriver for 20+ joule? I allready checked the pressure chamber, but there was no horseshoe / block in there stock.
If you remove valve block you’ll get much more power. However, you’ll decrease rounds per co2 bottle to around 9-10rounds. Compared to 28-30 with stock launcher.
Rune, I am having a really big problem with my hdr50 11 joules and the Hdr68 16 joules . Both were purchased already upgraded from the factory. Both pistols have the same issue. As soon as I load a fresh Co2 cartridge and peirce it , the air immediately escapes from the indicator pin that is located where the hammer would be. I spray silicone every three times I change the Co2 cartridge. I even spray the little indicator button that pops out when the cartridge is pierced. Still has the same issue. Can you please help me??? 😢
Hi my friend. Never had any problems in that spot but it must be an O-ring failiure. Only way to find out and then fix this is to open it up and have a look. Your lockal hardware store should sell O-rings, maybe also its sold in gas-stations. You only have to remove the black plastic covers on the outside plus the brass screw where the pressure indicator sits. You might need a plyers to open the brass screws internals. Let me know how it goes. Good luck
Thanks for the video. Was thinking about adding this Walther to my collection. Don't understand the price for a weak pistol however. Starting to think about a pass on this for now.
I don’t seem to be able to get the constrictor out. Any advice please? Edit: mine is a UK model which I think is 7.5 joule - and I don’t seem to have this restrictor installed.
If you cant pul it out then you must open the mexanism and hammer it out from the other side. Lots of videos on RUclips how to do this. Check out Seans videos. Less Lethal For Dummies channel. He has several videos on how to do this on the 7,5 joule version. Good luck 😃
Hi you say 12.5 mm is it real 12.5 or cal 0.50? I use 12.5 mm in my HDP and HDR with a modified drum to take the 12.5mm which is bigger than cal 0.50. Please confirm. Thanks
Hi. I use real messured 12,5mm steel balls. The 12,7 mm will ruin the detent very fast. The HDR50 can be used with both sizes but the 12,7 mm can be hard to push into the chambers. cheers
Hello. The 7,5 joule version dont have a restrictor, just a valve block. To get max power you must remove the valve block from the valve. Take off the top part (slide). Its 3 pins holding it in place. Push them out from right to left. When the top part is off you will see a brass screw in the rear end of the valve. Screw that out. Under it sits the valve block. It has a silvery collor. Use plyers or similar tool to put it out. Now you can put the screw back and put the top part back on. Job done. Good luck😃
Hi Amigo. Put in a softer valvespring. You can buy one from www.homedefence-24.com or maybe use a spring from a ballpen. This will rise the power to ca 8 joule. If you open up the volume inside the valve you should get over 10 joule from it. Saludos 😃 @@hectorhugoaliagacamiroaga3341
Hi. I think the searspring is either missing or disslocated. Maybe a ruined heatcore O-ring. Hard to say since I dont have it here. Can you make a video shoeing us?
Two ways to tell. The 7,5 joule version has a letter "F" inside a pentagram next to the serial number. If no F then its the 11 joule version. When you look down the CO2 tube the 11 joule version has a silvery disk in the bottom and on the 7,5 joule version you look down into a hole and there is no disk.
I can shoot steel balls, but only 12,5mm size. The 12,7mm is to large for the tuning barrel. The detent dont like large balls either. If you want a more flat shooting ball then use aluminium balls since they fly faster than steel balls
I didn't use aluminum because of concern for aluminum shavings from softer balls passing through steel barrel and accumulation of shavings damaging seals or other internal components
Hi my friend. You can try and spray tefloneoil down where the CO2 canister sits. That might make the small restrictor pop out. If not you must open it up and remove it manualy. That will rise the power to ca 50 joule. Good luck.
Hi my friend. The 12,5 mm steel balls seems to work very well in the HDP50. If I also use it with a long barrel it will give over 30 joules, so good power from those balls. You can buy them from www.aliexpress.com
Yes , Loved This Video ! Can You Remove The Restrictor In The HDP 50 , 7 Joule Sold In The US , I see You Have The HDP 50 11 Joule In Europe , Can It Be Done The Same ? Or Do You Have To Do That Complex Disassemble Job , For The Restrictor Removal ? Thanks For Your Help !
Thanks my friend. The 7 joule version has a valveblock that must be removed, but it dont have the restrictor in the CO2 tube. Just pul out the valveblock and you have max power. Several videos here on RUclips. Check Less Lethal For Dummies. He has several videos where he takes these pistol apart and put them back together again. Not very hard to do. Good luck 😃
Hi and thanks my friend. The HDR50 seems to need a restrictor to work. Otherwice it might just dump all the CO2 in one or two shots. But you can try. If you are lucky it will work. I think the best you can do with it is drill the restrictor with a 1mm drillbit. Good luck. Cheers my friend
I love the HDP50. I removes the chamber block but I did add one of those homemade valve restricted. Went from about 40 shots down 7 shots. And from 7 up to about 24 shots with out loading any power as far as I can tell.
Its a great pistol. The only weak point is the barrel detent. It will be ruined quickly if shooting hard balls. The optimal hole in the CO2 tube restrictor is ca 1mm. Do you know what size the hole in yours is?
I did install a brass barrel that I think might add a couple of joules but no chrony to test. But I feel at close range to the head would quite possibly be lethal. Hopefully I will never have to know for sure.
Thats good. The detent on mine was ruined after ca 200 shots. I shot steel balls and rubber balls mostly. Luckily HD-24 sells 3D printed detents.@@travisnelson8230
Hi Rune, I got the new hdp 50 gen 2 and already removed the restrictor. I do not see any o-ring neither gasket where to spray silicon oil for lubing purposes. Where should I spray after a shooting session? Thank you in advance 🙏
Hi my friend. I use siliconespray down the CO2 tube, plus a little on the pushcap O-ring. You can use any brand. Read the lable on the can. This to make sure it dont harm the seals and O-rings. Good luck 😃
I bought it here in Norway. We can buy them in black collor here. In the USA they are only sold with the orange collor. You can dye them from what Iam told..🤔. The laws change all the time. One day its legal and the next day they are banned...
Hey great video, any chance you could make the same test but with varying distances, say 5mts, 10mts, 15mts. On thick glaas or wood so we can see real world results. No offence but point blank range is useless. I teather have a knife.
Thanks. I only shoot here indoors. I have issues with my neighbours and live in an aparment, so unless I find somewhere I can shoot outside, all shooting is what you see in this video. But from testing a few years ago I remember accuracy isnt that good. I could hit a tincan/popcan at ca 10 meters, but not much more.
Great video, thanks to you I decided to buy HDP 50. I have one question: should I use silicone spray every time when replacing Co2, when I remove restrictor?
Sjekk Less Lethal For Dummies youtube-kanal.
The 7,5 joule version has a valve block but no restrictor in the CO2 tube. I recommend you watch Sean from Less lethal for dummies channel how to powertune it. He has lots of videos.
Nice video. Question: I can't seem to find steel or aluminum balls in my country and I cannot import ammo. Is it possible to shoot 12mm glass marbles or I would need bigger size?
Thanks my friend. I think you can use them, but you might want to spraypaint them first. Do this several times to build up the thicknes of the ball. You can also try and wrap them in teflonetape. It works for revolvers, but not sure if it works in pistols 🤔
Depends on the version you have. The 11 joule dont have any valveblock, so if you remove the restrictor you will get max power. The 7,5 joule version must have the valveblock removed for more power. The 7,5 joule dont have any restrictor in the CO2 tube. Wich version do you have?
The HDR50 must have the restrictor in place. If not the pressure might cause the revolver to fart or dump all the CO2 in just one or twp shots. However the valveblock can be removed for a little more power. The restrictor can be drilled with a 1mm drillbit for even more effect. But dont drill larger then 1mm to make sure it works OK.@@rafabrzozowski9908
were you bought the steel balls? My gosch the power is extrem, for the normal version! the metal can doesn't say much, because a large caliber needs much more power than a 4.5 mm bullet, the .50 hits more surface, but was nevertheless able to penetrate, impressive!
Hello amigo. Yes the hole in the restrictor is 0,2mm. The restrictor can be removed from the HDR68, but not from the HDR50. For some reason the HDR50 needs the restrictor. If it dont have it it will dump out the CO2 in only two or 3 shots... If you got the X-treme Modify Pin from www.homedefence-24.com then you can remove the restrictor 😃👍
I think the only safe ammo for it is rubber balls. But you must also remember to lube the pistol well. I use siliconespray and it seems to work fine.@@nightjoker2913
Thats the size balls I use in my HDP50 also. Over time I guess the detent will be ruined, but lube the balls with some siliconeoil before loading. That should prevent detent failiure 🤔@@nightjoker2913
@@runerebel8441 ok because I bought a brand of silicone spray at a hardware store, then I saw on airsoft forums that the brand I got is not reccomended, eventhough it says it's silicone. Hello Rune! What are the difference between these setups? Hdp 50 7.5 version. 1: With no c02 restriction in the handle and removed valve block. 2: with full powerkit 50 installed. 3: With valve block removed and powerkit in the handle but with original firepin. Will the 3d option be stronger or less powerful then the 1st?
Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I recommend you just remove the valveblock. Dont put in a powerkit unless you want more shots. The HDP50 likes to be used with an open valve, so no valveblock and no restrictor. You will get 7 or 8 shots from the CO2. Good power.

No problem. Iam glad to help. The diffrence is the valveblock in the 7,5 joule version and the restrictor in the 11 joule version. The 7,5 joule has a valveblock but no restrictor. The 11 joule version has a restrictor but no valveblock. I think the valvepin is a little shorter in the 11 joule version but Iam not 100% sure of this. Otherwice they are the same.
@@runerebel8441just bought two of this one now. One for butchering and the other one to compare with.😂 Ordered some 5 gram rubber coated steel balls also
Hello my friend. The restrictor in the HDS68 is a small brass plug sitting inside the long brass tube that sits between the CO2 housing and valve. Remove that plug and shorten the valvepin ca 3mm (plus remove the valveblock if it has any), and you get close to 30 joule. Good luck 😃
I'm confused. My HDP50 doesn't have the restriction yours has in the CO2 tube but it does have a valve restriction that I removed after watching another video. Do the US versions of these guns have less restriction than the guns in Norway? Does your gun have the valve restriction? Did you remove it?
I have the 11 joule version. In the US they only sell the 7,5 joule version (Im told). The 11 joule dont have the valve block. Mine dont have the valveblock, but it has the CO2 restrictor in the CO2 tube. To get more power from it you need a long barrel and/or use HPA or bulkfill CO2. Use 12,5mm steel balls for max energy.
Hey Rune! Awesome video Does the valve block removal change the amount of "shots" you get pr. co2 canister? Also, have you tried firing normal rubber balls 2,6grams? What was the fps? All the best :D
Thanks Mathias. Yes you use a lot more CO2 without the valveblock. Shooting without the valveblock and no restrictor will only get you ca 6 shots. I dont have the 2,6 gram rubberballs, but I guess the velocity will be close to 500 fps
Hi my friend. This is a stock setting pistol. The only thing I did to it was remove the restrictor. If you use the X-treme modify pin from HD-24 you should get a few more shot, but maybe at a slightly slower velocity 🤔
Ofte kaldt for "heatcore-O-ring".
Thanks brother. So far the seals has not blown on the HDP50. But it has happened with HDB68 and HDR68. But not with steel. I used aluminium balls in the HDR68 and Grimburg Jul in the HDB68 when it happened.
Hi my friend. I have not done anything with it. But I get the HDB working right if I use rubber type balls. If I use hard smooth balls I get jams. One day I will tinker with the HDB detent. Maybe put some tape on top of it to make it a bit thicker. I have been told that it works. Not sure since I have not tested this yet 🤔@@louie2020
Hello my friend! By your expertise, concerning self defense, woult it be better to use aluminum or Iron balls? With or without the restrictor? All the best!
Hello my friend. If you want to use it for defence then you want all the power you can get. So no valveblock and no retrictor. Energy seems to be the most with steel balls but aluminium balls can also be used. Cheers 😃
@@runerebel8441 hi my friend! Could you try to crone HDP50 with _"killer arrows"_ or other similar darts? Guess since they are even heavier than Iron balls that will get more power. All the best!

I just use it when I don't have so much leisure time for shooting because I'm not forced to shoot a CO2 capsule until it runs out.
@@mircorizza5609 Sounds like a good pistol. I do the same. If I dont have time to shoot the hole CO2 then I rather use a spring piston gun.
@@runerebel8441 yeah, it's very good considering it is a cheap gun. The spring piston guns are indispensable for who shoots airguns and it's not always possible to use a CO2 type. Adding a spring piston model to a CO2 it is a very comfortable combo. 🙂

If you remove valve block you’ll get much more power. However, you’ll decrease rounds per co2 bottle to around 9-10rounds. Compared to 28-30 with stock launcher.
Yes. Thats correct for a 7,5 joule version. I have the 11 joule version. There is no valveblock in mine, only the CO2 restrictor in the CO2 tube. 🙂
Good luck
Thanks my friend...take care and wish you well.

Job done. Good luck😃

After converting the valve and pin, gas escapes from the weapon, audible in the barrel? what could be the reason?
Hi. I think the searspring is either missing or disslocated. Maybe a ruined heatcore O-ring. Hard to say since I dont have it here. Can you make a video shoeing us?
Oh thats not good.
How can you tell wether you have the 7.5 joule version or the 11 joule version ?
Two ways to tell. The 7,5 joule version has a letter "F" inside a pentagram next to the serial number. If no F then its the 11 joule version. When you look down the CO2 tube the 11 joule version has a silvery disk in the bottom and on the 7,5 joule version you look down into a hole and there is no disk.

I dont know. I dont own a Vesta PDW50 yet. I might buy one later, so stay tuned.
Do you thick steel balls maybe too heavy for your modified HDP50? I'm trying to decide if i want to use steel or aluminum balls.

Does this work for the 7.5 joule version aswell?
Can I shoot without restrictor with more Jules and without valve block tuning?
Depends on the version you have. The 11 joule dont have any valveblock, so if you remove the restrictor you will get max power. The 7,5 joule version must have the valveblock removed for more power. The 7,5 joule dont have any restrictor in the CO2 tube. Wich version do you have?

@@runerebel8441 so if I remove this restrictor this means that I don't have to buy tuning kit for my rewolwer?

The HDR50 must have the restrictor in place. If not the pressure might cause the revolver to fart or dump all the CO2 in just one or twp shots. However the valveblock can be removed for a little more power. The restrictor can be drilled with a 1mm drillbit for even more effect. Hello! Nice video :) I have a question for you: Does the HDS 68 shotgun have such a restrictor as the HDP 50? Thank you...

Hej Rune vad händer om man glömmer spraya i silikonspray när man tagit bort ploppen du tar bort? Läcker det då?
Och en sak till.
Kan man sätta tillbaks restriktorn om man vill ?
11 j är väl rätt smärtsamt ändå. 20 måste ju nästan penetrera?
Hei Johan. Ofte kaldt for "heatcore-O-ring".
Tack Rune
Bare hyggelig å kunne hjelpe 😃@@johanwesterlund3098
Great show brother, lots oc good data. Do you ever have the detent blow out from the heavy steel projectiles?
Thanks brother. So far the seals has not blown on the HDP50. But it has happened with HDB68 and HDR68. But not with steel. I used aluminium balls in the HDR68 and Grimburg Jul in the HDB68 when it happened.
@@runerebel8441 Hi rune, how did you fix the HDB detent?
Hi my friend. I have not done anything with it. But I get the HDB working right if I use rubber type balls. If I use hard smooth balls I get jams. One day I will tinker with the HDB detent. Maybe put some tape on top of it to make it a bit thicker. I have been told that it works. Not sure since I have not tested this yet 🤔@@louie2020
Could you tell me where I can purchase the steel balls used in this video? If it’s available in the U.S. by the way
Hi. I got them from a friend. He bought them from aliexpress in China. I think maybe www.homedefence-24.com sell them also.
Hi my friend. Sure, but I must have them first. All the best.@@rafael.frigori
What's the purpose with the destrictor? Is it just to stop the gun to waste all gas on a few rounds?
Correct. The restrictor slow down the flow of CO2 making the velocity more even but at lover velocity. Good thing is you get more shots from the CO2 canister😃@@H-M-78
Do you get 17-19 joule from the regular restrictor or the 1mm drilled one?
From a regular restrictor when using steel balls or other heavy ammo.
Pleier å fungere fint i 12,5mm. Gummikuler og plastkuler pleier normalt å fungere fint. Mvh Rune 😃
Ouch that will surely hurt 😅
Hehehe😂. Yes I bet it would LOL😁😅
lol good vid my hdp50 surely goes trhu tin cans 30 meter distance
Thanks. Wow. Thats great power😃
Vad mäter du? Meter i sekunden?
Mvh Rune@@johanwesterlund3098
E X C E L L E N T !!!!
Thank you :)
hi rebel. If I understood correctly the 11 joule version does not have the valve block i.e. the horseshoe in the barrel. So you just need to remove the restrictor. Right?
Hi my friend. Yes that is correct. No valveblock in the 11 joule version of the HDP50. Just remove the restrictor from the CO2 tube for max power😃💥👍
@@runerebel8441 thanks. I have the 11 joule version, you make some nice videos
@@dieghito6999 Thank you. Iam glad you like my videos 😃
Hello Rune. Hope you are keeping well. I have just bought the new Umarex T4E TP50 Gen2. I can’t find a replacement suitable steel threaded barrel for it.

Hello my friend. I just watched your video. Nice shooting. I think you can use the standard tuning barrel for the HDP 50 that www.homedefence-24.com sells. Send him a mail and ask, then you know for sure 😃
@@runerebel8441 thank you I will.
Min är på väg 11 j från polen. Längtar
Gratulerer.
I doubt it would even be felt with a winter coat on.
I guess you are right. In the winter its head shots only 😉
