Wearing a Crimson Tide shirt AND an Auburn Hat and didn't explode is a miracle
That's just asking to be ripped apart limb from limb.

That's definitely a polite way to describe the problems of 2020
It's reminiscent of England and their use of "The troubles"
@@abm5119 I mean...kinda? We use "the troubles" to refer to an extremely bloody and violent period of English and Irish history. Don't get me wrong, America is bad, but if you guys have something like The Troubles on an America scale, god help you😅

I’m impressed that you learned the Sweet Home Alabama riff that fast! Way to commit to the bit!!
15 minutes ain't that fast for that one. It's one of the easiest around.
According to my old art teacher. "It's the easiest in the world. No way you can mess it up."

I can not use words to describe the joy I felt when I heard you mention Vulcan's mighty asscheeks gracing Iron Mountain. I thank you dear sir from the bottom of my heart.
Yes!! Same here!
Friend of mine was in Birmingham and asked for directions to Vulcan. The clerk at the hotel had never heard of it...
Those are the REAL Iron mountains.

To explain to people from out of state, James Spann is a weatherman who is super involved in the community. I just moved here so I asked around and apparently the suspenders thing is so that way he can show the adults how severe the situation is without scaring children. He's pretty awesome and I would absolutely throw hands with anyone who disrespects the polygon.
As someone who grew up in "lower Alabama", I can testify that this was 100% accurate and I haven't laughed that hard in a while, mostly because my roommate came over to tell me to shut up.
That last line 100% tells me you're Floridian. As if nothing else did lol. For those who don't know Alexander Shunarah did this weird thing a few years back where half the damn billboards in the state, hell half the damned south, were purchased to advertise his law practice despite not being licensed in the state of Florida.
Couldn't drive 5 minutes down the road without seeing that jackass's face 10 times and the small print under the face saying that he's not licensed to practice in Florida and somebody else was handling cases came off as kind of funny if you ask me
Definitely. There was even a Facebook page devoted to the billboards and their crazy places.
Alabama had them everywhere too. 🤣 Running joke was he was always watching.
He sponsered the first anime convention I went to in Birmingham. He even attended. He even does panels. They're up on youtube
@@kiwithekiki234 Wuuuut!? XD Lol. I guess he's an anime nerd? What did he cover in his panels?
@Kiwi the Kiki Hold on let me explain I know the story of behind the Anime convention. It's started as a joke no one thought he was actually going to come. They asked them he agreed only because his kids are big Anime nerds. He came had a blast. And I think every so often still get a booth. He really had no idea when anime is.
As an AL native, i can tell you that you pronounced "dothan" and "shunnarah" wrong 😅 but otherwise very accurate
Yes
And conechuh
Have been stationed in Alabama for 8 years, and I was going to comment the same thing about "Dothan" and "Shunnarah."
Although to be fair, mispronouncing Shunnarah is hilarious. And I can only hope he one day hears it and his tiny heart breaks.
I was just shocked he knew the devil sign!?
My granddad worked on the Vulcan statue as it was being built. Can confirm that butt is well sculpted. It's like a modern day renaissance statue.
You better bring up Mardi Gras in the same room as Alabama & Lousiana.
Actually he did that in an older video during the pandemic briefly.
Or just one of Louie at and Alabama beefing about football. I grew up saying f bama when hearing roll tide. It's literally involuntary at this point

I was hoping Louisiana would make an appearance to argue over the history of Mardi Gras but otherwise very accurate!
Same!
I don’t know if it notifies you of dislikes but my disliking it was an accident
We all know Mobile had it first. We were founded first and our societies helped New Orleans set theirs up.
I was kind of hoping for the argument as well. Mobile had it first, but New Orleans definitely stepped it up tenfold.
But if you want the real orignal historically first American Mardi Gras, you come on down to Mobile baby, everyone that likes Mardi Gras should probably do that at some point or another
As a Floridian married to an Alabamian, I loved this! Thanks for the chuckle.
Congrats on the marriage. How many years?

Omg I died at the Alexander shunnarah part also I love the Huntsville representation
I thought of an idea for a video (obviously you don’t have to do this because I don’t know how complicated it would be) but what if you did the states taking a personality quiz? I mostly thought of that because I knew certain states (*cough cough* Texas and California) might take the results WAY too literally.
But that sounds pretty hard to me at least so I don’t know if you’d want to.
Omg that would be so cool I hope he sees this comment and does this 💓
@@PizzaMadeMeFat thanks! I rarely share ideas like this so I’m glad someone likes it.
an easy way to do it is to just google like "most common Myers-Briggs by state" which he could use as a quick way to get the idea for the script so he doesn't need to take a bunch of test himself as long as those personalities actual fits his characters and i'm not sure if they do or don't
This would be such a cool idea!
Only if he can have some stares ‘fail’ the test.
"Sweet Home Alabama" -- created and made legend by a rock group from Jacksonville, Florida.
I’m not even from Alabama but I’m horrified at the pronunciation of Dothan😂😂😂
I mean being from Dothan I'm sort of just glad it got mentioned. I knew folks in Bham when I was in school that had no idea it even existed 😂
Dough-then.
I'm not from Dothan but my grandparents live over in Blakely which is about an 40 minute drive North and East from Dothan. So I've been to Dothan all my life. I visibly cringed at the sound of Doth-AN.

I still find it funny as hell that you have an Auburn hat on when explaining our mess of college teams... also a Meet the State that I can finally understand! Well done Ben!
I'm convinced this man is a genius. The production on these videos, the costumes, the research, the accents, and spot on comedic timing, is amazing. Pair that with the number he puts out, the current events, and his own comedy show--kudos x 10.
As someone who grew up close to Dothan, it is true and funny how everyone treats it as a big city lol. Also Milo's Sweet Tea is definitely a big part of the culture. So good
For one wild second I expected to see John C. Reilly. Nice job as usual. War Damn!
My brother lived in Alabama for the better part of a year. Spent Christmas there and it snowed. Very little snow, but it snowed. Alabama is the reason my nephew became obsessed with NASA.
NASA, not NASCAR?
Space and rocket center in Huntsville we have a lot of science museums I was born and raised in Alabama 😅
@@mbyerly9680 Huntsville is where a lot of NASA stuff happened. It’s a big tech city

As a geek Georgian (a state for some reason always in a competition with Alabama), I'm kind of sad the space center in Huntsville wasn't mentioned! It's really the only reason I GO to Alabama
He mentioned the Germans in there...so kinda indirectly. I love when people (who have never been here, normally sent for a work trip to Redstone or Marshal) come into Huntsville expecting cotton fields and see a giant rocket and a space shuttle instead.
YES! and OWA and Orange Beach and Dauphin island!
I lived in Alabama for a little bit, and I was also sad when he didn't mention the Space Museum
He did say rocket city so I'll give it a passm
Even with the internet, SO MUCH research had to go into all these individual State videos to pick out all the peculiarities and then make it funny. I commend you and your team for the hard work.
We are at the table, bois we've made it
You pronounced Mobile correctly. Well done sir.
But he messed up Dothan 😮
And a few other words. But its definitely an A for effort. I was thrilled he added the Crichton leprechaun into it.
But not Dothan, bright side is at least he didn't say it like google maps lol

"Everything goes in the Square hole with you" Legendary refrence
I only lived in alabama for.. a year? And even I know how painfully true this is.
I giggled at the square hole reference. That being said, I thought Alabama's been at the table for months now? o_O Though I do enjoy being able to see more of The Table.
"Go to Church or the Devil will get you" is a literal sign outside of Montgomery next to the highway.
I just googled ronald mcweevil and im laughing my ass off
Out of all the states that show up on the table I forgot about alabama
Roll Tide! Used to live in Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida. This is the first time that I saw someone say conecuh sausage differently. In the past, Florida used to extend all the way to Louisiana. The whole coast in the panhandle up to LA. Could you imagine that? To me when I was living in that area, it didn't seem that much different going from Florida to Alabama. But going down the eastern coast of Florida was like going down to another country. Miami is totally different from Pensacola.
The 8 parishes north of Lake Pontchartrain and east of the River are actually called the Florida Parishes because Florida used to extend that far. I used to cross the old French/Spanish border every day for work when I lived in Baton Rouge, it's now just the border between EBR and Ascension Parishes.
But that was after the British took that area from the French and the Spanish took it from the English. The whole story is on display at Fort Conde in Mobile.
Gotta love Florida as a native of the state it's spot on especially the panhandle LoL. And congratulations on learning sweet home Alabama in 15 minutes
As a resident of Birmingham and a fan of Ben, I can’t believe I didn’t see this video when it came out 10 months ago. War Eagle.
I've been to the Big Five. Also, I did Google image serve Ronald McWeevil and laughed for five minutes straight. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its pronounced 'Dothen', 'cu-neck-uh', and 'shunarruh' but otherwise amazing 😂
Love this good to see Florida not trying to cuse choas but in fact to see him get defensive
Funny story about the Talladega speedway...
For the first race there in 1969, the NYT sent a couple of reporters down. At the time, Talladega was small enough that it didn't even show on most maps, so they hit upon a bright idea-drive down until they got a little way into the state and then ask someone.
They stopped at a little coffee shop not far over the line and asked the waitress if she could give them directions to the track.
"Sugar, you can't miss it", she said. "It's half-way between Anniston and Pell City."

@Phoenix Cierebiej skipped over most of Northern Alabama as a whole tbh.
No mention of Hellen Keller birthplace, the place in Scottsboro where they sell all the unclaimed Baggage, the professional televised fishing tournament in Guntersville, the speed boat championship racing on Guntersville, and the biggest is The Muscle Shoals Sound Studio who recorded artists including The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Duane Allman, George Michael, Wilson Pickett, Willie Nelson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Cocker, Levon Helm, Paul Simon, Bob Seger, Rod Stewart, Tamiko Jones, Cher and Cat Stevens.
