If you're watching this video, chances are you just adopted a new kitten. If so, congratulations! Drop their name in the comments so we can help welcome them to your family!
This is an older video so I might comment on a new video. I was wondering if you could do a updated best kitten food video. It would be greatly appreciated unless nothing has changed. Thank you again for helping to insure a happy healthy kitten.
Got a kitten three weeks ago at 8 weeks old and I’ve been feeding her the Wellness Core canned kitten food! It’s so expensive but she deserves it and she really enjoys it. I have studied veterinary sciences so it wasn’t difficult to approve of this food in the first place.
Love this post. I plan on getting 2 kittens really soon & want to try out the Wellness Core. Did you get your kitten from a shelter/rescue? If so, was it hard to transition the kitten from the food they were fed at the shelter to the Wellness Core?
Benjamin Ballew No she was outdoor/indoor from a friend. I bought the brand dry food (for long work days) that she wasn’t interested in but she still loves the wellness wet food.
Grew up with cats but it’s been 25 years since I’ve had a kitten so I know there is so much more information now than before on the upbringing of kittens, I want to give her the best to grow up healthy and long life
Just rescued a little black kitten from behind the restaurant I work at, lured him out with chicken so we named him Pollo, after his first vet visit he’s doing great!!!
Just received an 8 week old kitten that my friend found on the side of the road :)) I've named him Poblano and he's already. started gaining a bunch of weight and growing to the size he should be for his age! I'm so excited to have him in my life now and his first wellness check is coming up this weekend!!!
One of my kittens has had some messy diarrhea and we finally determined it is probably because of the milk in the Fancy Feast you showed. Switched to crunchies for a day and no problems. Watching this to find better options for wet food.
I'm getting my first kitten in over 10 years. I am extremely concerned about what is the best food and at the same time I don't want to spend a ton but I do not want to go cheap. Your video is very helpful as it breaks down what the product contains and how much it costs. You keep things simple yet are specific on how you grade each recommended brand. I subscribed to your channel because your other videos are done with the same care and attention. Thanks again!!!
My husband and I are about to adopt two kittens this week! We had to wait for one of them to spayed (the other has been neutered already). I have watched your videos SO many times and I decided to ask the foster mom what foods and litters she has been using with the kittens so that I know what they've already eaten so I can go from there. Thank you for your research so that I can make informed judgments and had the forethought to ask the foster mom! We are adopting a boy and girl orange kittens, we are renaming them to Björn and Sigrid!
This is such a wonderful comment. Thank you for sharing your experience and congratulations on the adoption of Björn and Sigrid! Wishing you guys all the best!
Please notice that she did not recommend any of the science or big veterinary brands. Please always do your research before you take your vets recommendation. I almost lost my dog because they changed their formula without stating that they changed it. They don’t actually care about your pets. They care about money.
Wow this was so helpful I'm adopting a kitten from the shelter I really liked the ingredients of simply nourish. I'm very picky and I want what's best for my kitten thank you!
My kitten is currently 7 months old and I’ve only been feeding him Wellness Core kitten immediately after we got him (so for about 4 months now). But after a blood test, the BUN and creatinine ratio was out of normal range. (One being unusually high, the other low). My vet told me that this was usually due to too high protein in the diet so I immediately changed to a brand that wasn’t so high (Now Fresh Kitten). I’m planning to do another blood test after a few months, but I’m hoping for input on our case since this was recommended on your video!
We got a couple of sibling kittens a little over a month ago. We were told they were being fed Nulo kitten food and then we slowly switched to Hill’s based on Vet recommendation but one of the kittens can’t seem to digest Hill’s very well so we are in the process of switching back to Nulo.
I had no clue that cats preferred dry food. I thought people just bought it because it was cheap. I’m going to be getting a kitten soon and I’m doing my research. Your videos are so helpful! I’ve never had a pet before and I just want to make sure I do all of the right things.
That is greath, the wetfoods that have no strange ingredients are the safest, we are careful if it includes carrageenan and controversial ingredients. Some people prefer raw dieth for cats.
I loved fancy feast for 3 of my cats. BUTTTT my 4th kitty the fancy feast caused severe allergies my kitty scratching and red, flaky skin, itching.. I switched and its better now, no more itchy
I’m so excited!! I’m getting two maine coon kittens (brothers) in a couple weeks and want to feed them raw when they’re adults as it would be easier to keep track of nutrition then but am sticking to wet food until that!! Thank you so much for this 🤍 (their names are Hades and Arlo 😸)
Is it safe to feed your kitty raw fish? Like from the meat counter at the grocery store? Or how about cooked chicken with no spices added? Then we can cook them a little piece along with our dinner.
Hi Karen, we do plan to make a video on Royal Canin soon, but for now, you might like our review of www.wwwallaboutcats.com/royal-canin-cat-food-review As for their wet kitten food specifically, it's okay, but not the best-you'll find a lot of potentially low-value by-products, vaguely-named proteins, and starchy additives. Overall, the food has a bit more carbohydrate content than your kitten needs and probably isn't the best option.
@@AllAboutCatsYT Thank you so much for your response. The toughest part is cats will only eat what they like I have tried the best of the best cat food I could possibly find and doing lots of research and through all of it, my 4 yr old will only eat Fancy Feast classic. It's frustrating but what do you do?
@@AllAboutCatsYT Oh, I can't wait for that review! My kittens love Royal Canin (and believe me, in the short time I've had them, I've tried everything I can find the you've reviewed) so we'll be watching! 😯 Thanks for all you do!! =^..^= xoxo
Was wondering how the instinct dry kitten food is compared to the other top brands? I have a decent budget and want my kitty to get the best. Because the shelter I got him from feeds all cats science diet and they gave me free samples I’ll keep him on it till it’s almost gone the transition him to instinct dry. Just want to make sure it’s the best option since I already have him on instinct wet. Thanks again for your knowledge! 😊
So I'm starting with royal canin mother and kitten food. What do you suggest using to transition into? This brand will get pretty expensive since I'm now serving 4 instead of the 1 we planned on.

I’m a relatively new cat owner to a pure bred Maine Coon. I’ve been feeding her Wellness Core 3x a day. She’s at the point where she won’t bother with it. Is it possible she got bored of having the same thing everyday? Considering they only have one flavor? She eats her dry all the time but idk if I should try a different wet food
It sounds like she might just prefer the dry food. Remember that wet food is preferable for cats, so I would try to push her towards the wet with smaller amounts of dry food and perhaps switching up the wet food selection.
I have 3 babies Luna, Misty, & Delilah, so I'm looking for something healthy but not breaking the bank either. Right now they are eating Taste of the Wild hard food made soft with hot water and 2 cans of unhealthy friskies soft food. Two of my babies are long haired and have had problems with vomiting hair and stomach contents, so I would like to know what would be best for my babies?
Hi, I just adopted a kitten last month, she is my first cat so I absolutely dont know what to feed her. Then, I found you on RUclips. Now, I feed her follow your recommendation: Blue Buffalo, Fancy Feast and Simply Nourish dry food. Thank you so much.
I found a kitten in my porch. Neighbor told me she saw a blue car and somebody got off and dropped the kitten off. And it was on our porch that we share. I brought it in and gave her a flea bath. And she is so cute. Calico kitten. So I named her Cali.
So I have been ordering this according to your recommendations (Wellness CORE ), but to be honest I decided to buy Tiki Cat, since I trust them more. I wonder if anyone used this - pate, Rabbit and Chicken liver recipe (it says that it's New Zealand sourced), and second one also from After dark - Beef and beef liver recipe (95% meat). I know All about cats did separate video about Tiki Cat, but I wonder if anyone tried these specific. Thank you!
Just wanted to contribute my perspective on the Fancy Feast Kitten Tender Turkey Feast. It consistently made my kitten throw up--was it because of the milk? Can't be sure, but I do know that none of my other offerings have ever made him throw up. I wouldn't say positive reviews are necessarily an indication of healthfulness. I didn't write a negative review because Chewy has great customer service and gave me a full refund. So I let it go and donated the food. My kitten also loved the taste of the food, and I figure a lot of other kittens do, too, which may bolster reviews.
I just adopted a kitten about a month ago and your videos have been so helpful!! Where does Purina pro/Purina one kitten food fall in this lineup? That’s what they had been feeding her in the shelter
Hi Natalya, Authority is one of our favorite brands to recommend to people on a budget and their kitten food is no exception. I'd definitely give it a shot!
@@AllAboutCatsYT thanks. My kitten enjoyed it! I compared the ingredients with premium brands, and it was very similar. I was surprised. I’ve learned about the Authority from your channel. Thank you 🙏🏻
Do you know how much to feed a kitten? My 5 wk old acts like she's always starving and guzzling her food. I don't understand the can says to serve less than what she wants
Hi Jenn! Royal Canin's wet kitten food is okay, but not the best-you'll find a lot of potentially low-value by-products, vaguely-named proteins, and starchy additives. Overall, the food has a bit more carbohydrate content than your kitten needs and probably isn't the best option. I've been attached to a "wild" kitten at my boyfriends house since he was born (he's more domestic than any of their other cats though). He is 4 months old and we are adopting him to our house! Welcome to the family little Ace :)
New subscriber! Your videos have been very helpful in deducting what food to give my newly adopted kitten. I originally picked Instinct, prior to seeing this video, good to get confirmation. Switched to Earthbound Holsitics but it gave him diarrhea, so going back to Instinct. Thanks for all your helpful information.
I also just got a new kitten. Because of this video I got him off the Science Diet and put him on the Instinct wet food. I only have a little bit of the Science Diet dry left from the shelter but I’ll be transitioning him on the Instinct dry food. So far so good!
My kitten is 12 weeks old & I’ve been feeding her Fancy Feast kitten food. I just recently purchased the Simply Nourish kitten food… is it ok alternate the foods daily such as wet food for breakfast/lunch & kibbles for dinner?
Is regular fancy feast ok for my four month old kitten? The kitten fancy feast does not agree with her. She’s a mainecoon mix, so she’s on the big side.
Hey Nick, you could feed regular Fancy Feast to your kitten as long as it's formulated for "all life stages". You'll need to give her about twice the amount recommended for adult cats.
@@nickbaritone Nick, I'm not a vet or a veterinary nutritionist. That said, based on my understanding of feline nutrition, there aren't any nutritional advantages to dry food and a few drawbacks. Low moisture content increases your cat's risk of urinary tract issues (though this is slightly less of a concern for female cats) and dry food's higher carbohydrate content may increase her blood sugar and, because cats can't regulate their blood sugar as well as humans can, puts her at a higher risk of developing diabetes. Dry food's biggest advantage is convenience.
What sbout royal canin? That is the current brand im feeding to my 12 weeks kitten. He have no problem at all he actually finishes it quite quickly compared to merrick. But still eat both of them. I just want to your opinion in it :) thanks!!
Hey Ivan, you're not alone! A lot of people are wondering if Royal Canin kitten food is a good choice. Here's what I said to another commenter a few months ago: Royal Canin's wet kitten food is okay, but not the best-you'll find a lot of potentially low-value by-products, vaguely-named proteins, and starchy additives. Overall, the food has a bit more carbohydrate content than your kitten needs and probably isn't the best option. Would you do a best dry kitten food? Hills is the most accessible in my area. Dry and wet. In my area wet food isn't as available as dry but I still want to get the best food I can. I want to get Wellness but I can't find a video on Wellness Core dry food, or best dry kitten food in general. My kitten before me hasn't had wet food and she's just not interested, so finding a good dry good is important.
hi i’m getting an 8 week old kitten, and i want to know how frequently i should feed her and how much i should give. i don’t want to over or under feed her. and will the food be any different because she’s younger?
I have 2 kittens which are 5 months old, 1 half maine coon female and the other one normal shorthair male but a big one to my opinion (i had a mother and her kittens before until they passed at 15-17y old, and they weren't as big at 5 months). When they don't sleep, i play with them ALOT to get them really fit, almost like a challenge to get them as muscled as they can get. I'm about to change to this food selection: - Applaws wet food pots and layers, which are for adult cats but I'm convinced it is really good quality food -dry kitten food from a good brand like Hill's and Purina. And extra which is called: - Muscle Mass from Puur Natuur.. Which is like a protein shake almost, but I'm gonna serve them below what Puur Natuur recommends, to not over-do.. And last but not least : LOTS of water refreshed couple of times a day. What do you think?
Hello there! This generally looks like a good diet! I'd make sure that the Applaws isn't an overly-large part of the diet, since it's not a nutritionally complete food. Instead, you might find a comparable wet food that is nutritionally-complete and balanced for kittens or all life stages.
Edit: just noticed that it was out of stock on Chewy. What are your thoughts on using Dr. Elsey's Cleanprotein Formula Dry Cat Food versus Simply Nourish? Their website says that Dr. Elsey's cat food is a universal product that can be used for all life stages, you just double the amount for kittens.
What is your thoughts on royal canin and hills science diet?I rescued a pregnant feral 8month old that was pregnant n just had a single kitten.Shes now 9months n her kitten is 3weeks.The vet recommended hills n royal canin. The reviews r great but im just not sure.I also heard Blue Buffalo n Purina is no good.Im so lost n confused bc i just want to give the best. The mommy is currently on fancy feast ni give her treats by Inaba, Rachel Ray, Vitakraft, n Tiki Cat. Im also super lost on wat litter to start the baby on.
Hey Maria, not necessarily! Are you using the wet or dry variety? Here's a response I gave to another viewer wondering about Blue Wilderness kitten food: Regardless of if you choose wet or dry food, Blue Wilderness kitten food isn't the best thing you can give your cat. On the positive side, the foods are free of by-products, artificial colors, and potentially harmful preservatives. They contain a good variety of meat ingredients and, in the case of the dry food, prebiotics and probiotics for digestive support. That said, they're also high in carbohydrates, heavy on plants, and not really a species-appropriate option. Additionally, Blue Buffalo has had a few recalls over the years, some of which may point to significant issues. www.wwwallaboutcats.com/blue-buffalo-cat-food-review I'd consider it, but Blue Wilderness kitten food wouldn't be my first choice. Hope this helps!
@@AllAboutCatsYT oh dang it. I’ve been only giving him blue wilderness. I am going to switch my kittens food over to wellness core. I kept wondering how he was gaining so much weight
Oh wow surprised Soulistic didn't make it on this list. My kitten at 7 weeks loved Wellness chicken pate and salmon Pate but by month 5, she absolutely would not eat the chicken pate.
How much Wet food (meat-based) do you give to a kitten from 3-6 months? and then from 6-9 and then from 9-12? Half Can? Whole can? or rather the weight?
How would you compare Nulo MedalSeries Cat & Kitten Food - Grain Free, Turkey & Cod to the top dry food pick you hadfor kittens? I don't plan on having a dry diet but when I am out for the day it's easier for me to leave a bowl of dry food out until I come back.
Hello Ashley, we plan to post a complete video review of Hill's Science Diet soon, but for now, here's our written review of the Hill's brand: allaboutcats.com/hills-cat-food-review
Can you please do a review on the Purina Pro Plan Live Clear line? I am adopting a new kitten but my gf is slightly allergic. Unfortunate they only have dry kibble so I do plan on feeding a hybrid diet as well as soaking their food in water.
Do you think the other flavors of the kitten fancy feast wet food is as appropriate as the turkey feast, or is the turkey feast the only one worth buying? Thanks.
The other flavors are good, too! We were limited to one recipe per brand recommendation and went with the turkey as it was the most popular, but the other recipes are also good. Thanks for the comment!
Does anyone know if it’s okay to use two different brands at the same time? Like if I gave my kitten one brand if the morning and another one in the evening would that have a negative effect?? I just adopted my kitten she’s 3 months right now she’s eating the fancy feast kitten food but I would like her to have the wellness core as well
That’s fine, it is recommended by a cat nutritionist I follow to give different brands and flavours in wet food so the cat gets different sources of proteins (different flavours like chicken or turkey) and it balances out limitations each brand of food has. A disadvantage is that if your cat gets a bad reaction you won’t be sure which type/brand may have caused it, so maybe slowly implement new variations
Hey Jess, it can be tricky to find adult cat food without chicken and kitten food is even more of a challenge. You might venture into foods formulated for all life stages, which will open up your options a bit more. Earthborn Holistic has a decent seafood-based food for cats and kittens, for example, or you might choose a limited-ingredient freeze-dried food from Stella & Chewy's.
Hello! I haven't had anyone be able to answer this question for me, so I'm hoping that you can. I will be getting my first kitten soon, and they'll be on a wet food only diet. For my dog, I buy wet food to mix into his dry and both the brand and flavor varies depending on what's on sale that day. Do cats need to be on one brand/formula only, or is it okay to feed different brands/formulas per day? So say I get a few cans of Wellness Core on sale, but I typically feed Fancy Feast. Can I feed one in the morning and one at night? This is all theoretical but it's good info to know i think. I try my best to buy economically
Im no expert in the subject and based on what I've read and my personal experience with my 2 kittens i recommend that you stick to one brand or mixture of brands. Their digestive system is sooo sensitive and if you switch the food of all of a sudden they can have really bad diarrhea. Of course every cat is different and you'll have to find out what works for them. Good luck!
Hey Ashe, thanks for the question! I'm not a veterinarian, but from what I've gathered, cats run into issues with switching brands because they've been on the same food for a very long time. Their bodies become accustomed to the familiar food and then transitioning becomes difficult. If your cat is accustomed to variety, there shouldn't be anything wrong with feeding your cat a mix of Wellness Core and Fancy Feast...or any other combination of proteins, brands, textures, and formulations.
*sigh* just got a kitten from the shelter that’s been throwing up. He’s not sickly so I am assuming it’s the food. The shelter didn’t even tell us what he was eating because apparently they just gave them whatever. Was gonna go for the whole earth farms kitten food to see if it’d help his tummy issues but I found out it’s been discontinued. I can’t find it anywhere either. Might want to make an updated list if you haven’t already since the whole earth farms isn’t an option anymore.
Hello I'm about to get my kitten today and she is about 2 months old and I bought everything I needed but I bought fancy feast wet food. Now I'm a bit worried on if it is good for my new kitten. I chose a pack of both the turkey and a whitefish one which I heard is bad for them. Any thoughts or tips?
Hi Jaz, I don't think that Fancy Feast kitten food is the worst option! As long as you keep things varied, both of these recipes should be perfectly acceptable choices for your new kitten.
Would you consider doing a video analyzing the worst cat/ kitten food choices? I was very surprised that you recommended Fancy Feast, I always stayed away because they have such poor reviews... but I may reconsider.
@@cadylynnoregel1451 Really? Which Fancy Feast line doesn't have by-products? I'm trying to give my bub as many brands as possible in case of shortages.
Do you have any idea about if "Merrick Backcountry Raw Infused Kitten Recipe Review" would be a good choice for my kitten? I am going to feed canned food twice a day and some kibble, unless you have other suggestions?
Hello! I just adopted a kitten they think she's about 6 months. I went ahead and got a wet food. But I was wondering if it would be safe too feed her Stella and chewys freeze dried cat food as-well. Or if I should wait until she's older. Thank you for your time!
Hi Cassidy, I would recommend talking to a vet or veterinary nutritionist about this. From my perspective, kitten food should probably be at least 80% of your kitten's diet at this age, but I don't know the exact percentage you need. Stella & Chewy's is a very nutrient-dense adult food, so, while it's certainly not the best option as her primary food, it will satisfy some of those kittenhood requirements in a way that other adult foods wouldn't.
My 3 months old stray kitten had to go for gastro diet because she's been having a diarrhea. Hence the vet recommended Royal Canin's wet food for gastrointestinal and it's been good for few days. However when I tried to change to kibble Green's Mother & Baby, the diarrhea came back and her poop smells so bad and strong. Had to give that RC's gastro one while trying to give her Equilibrio's kitten one (Since I wanted to get rid of RC's gastro due to the price). But she disliked the EQ and now I'm thinking of trying for Purina One's kitten (dry and wet food). But I'm not sure if it's good for the kitten, not seeing much review on that. What do you say on that? Really appreciate anyone's help!
Hi! I was wondering would it be okay and healthy if I fed my kitten 3 months old fancy feast tender turkey with some royal canon mother and cat dry food on the side?
Hey Bridgette, that's a tough call. Frequent hairballs can be indicative of digestive issues, so I'd talk to a veterinarian before making a decision. Otherwise, you may want to mix some pumpkin into your kitten's food-it can help a lot with hairballs.
Hi Vishwakarma, thank you for commenting! I haven't gone in-depth on the brand, but based on a brief search, Arden Grange kitten food does look like a fairly good choice made from relatively high-quality ingredients. Good luck!
Petco has their own brand Whole Hearted. It is the best bargain I've found. It's hard to find large cans of kitten food and they have a good selection of 3 flavors. It come to 19 cents an ounce and is grain free. It am a foster mom, so feeding 6 kittens, I go through a lot of wet food. Also, it is a good idea to feed nursing moms kitten food. The babies love it.
I’m taking care of feral kittens the mom has made it hard to access do to her new spot she moved the kittens. They are now 3 weeks old, anyone have tips?
Hi there, thanks for your comment. Switching a cat or kitten onto a wet diet is definitely a tricky process, but don't lose hope! Many people have walked this path before you, proving that it is possible to transition a cat from dry to wet food, even if they were weaned onto kibble. There are a lot of techniques that can make the process easier. Here's a helpful guide to assist you in the transition process: veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4952909 Hope this helps!
There is a typo on the kitten buyers guide. On #4 in the section where it says what we liked and what we didn’t like instead of saying what we liked like all the rest of the numbers it says what we didn’t like twice
Question- if I am at work for around six hours on the days I work would you recommend leaving out a small bowl of kibble while I am gone? Or would they be okay to wait until I am home for the wet food? Want to go wet food route as much as possible but don’t want them to be hungry!
Hello Johnnie, it's okay to let your cat wait for you to come home, but if you're worried about your cat going hungry if you can't get in home at your usual time, a little bit of kibble can hold them over.
Does my kitten need soft & kibble ? I’ve looked it up and some said yes and others said no . I’ve been feeding her both but I don’t want to over fed her she’s getting a lil chunky & is an indoor kitten she’s 3bmonths btw . Would LOVE your opinion I’m so lost
I adopted my kitten she is about 10-12 weeks. I have been feeding her the wet food wellness core How much should she eat? She acts like she is always hungry. Can’t get her to eat the dry food by wellness
Hi Janice, thank you for commenting! At your kitten's age, it's perfectly fine for her to eat until she seems satisfied. I would refer to the feeding instructions on the package and use that as a general guideline.
hello, I have two scottish fold kittens, they will be 16 weeks in a couple of days. I am trying to find a balanced diet that integrates both wet and dry food, but I don't know what ratio i should use and how often i should give them and how much per meal! I have read so many articles online but most of them seem to be contradictory! Also, one of the cats wouldn't eat dry food at all, do you have any tips that i could use? many thanks in advance
Hello there! Kittens at that age can free-feed, so you don't have to worry too much about getting your portion sizes just right. As for the ratio of dry to wet food, there really isn't any exact science to it as long as both are nutritionally-complete kitten foods. As mentioned in the video, dry food really isn't ideal for cats anyway, so there's no need to encourage your kitten to eat it. A high-moisture, low-carbohydrate diet will only do good things for their health. Hope this helps!
All About Cats thank you so much.. i would like to ask you one more thing if it’s not too much trouble.. should i spay and castrate my kittens? I have been reading so many articles, some say it’s better to let them have one litter and others suggest that it’s much better to do it before they breed.. what do you think ?
Did you try the Purina One kitten chicken and salmon recipe? I’m trying to decide between the wellness core and the Purina ONE. Any input helps thank you!
Hi Evan, thanks for commenting. I haven't tried Purina ONE's chicken and salmon recipe for kittens. That said, I did a quick search and the recipe looks excellent-indeed, it's more meat-rich than the Wellness CORE food mentioned in this video. I would think about trying both and seeing which your kitten prefers. Hope this helps! - Mallory
I can't say much, but although the ingredients in purina one do seem great, I still can't fully trust a brand that is owned by a chocate brand - nestle. Plus it says it has poultry nd poultry by products, I would personally try stay away from by products. Hope this helps

Please do more kitten videos! Happy healthy cats begins with happy healthy kittens!!
Depends on the vet…. My veterinarian is very knowledgeable of raw an soft food…
How did the new kitty food workout for you?
What was the testing like once you switched?
The wellness core one doesn’t seem to be available in the uk.
Have you evaluated Tiki Baby? Or do you have newer 2023 kitten food recommendations?
We got a couple of sibling kittens a little over a month ago. We were told they were being fed Nulo kitten food and then we slowly switched to Hill’s based on Vet recommendation but one of the kittens can’t seem to digest Hill’s very well so we are in the process of switching back to Nulo.
Maybe you could look into chew items to clean teeth
I had no clue that cats preferred dry food. I thought people just bought it because it was cheap. I’m going to be getting a kitten soon and I’m doing my research. Your videos are so helpful! I’ve never had a pet before and I just want to make sure I do all of the right things.
That is greath, the wetfoods that have no strange ingredients are the safest, we are careful if it includes carrageenan and controversial ingredients.
Some people prefer raw dieth for cats.
Dry food is horrible for cats!

May I ask where you are getting them? I am interested in getting some maine coons but not for sure where.
Is it safe to feed your kitty raw fish? Like from the meat counter at the grocery store?
Or how about cooked chicken with no spices added? Then we can cook them a little piece along with our dinner.
Omg so helpfull i am getting a kitten tomorrow and its a boy so we are naming it Simon!I was an early Christmas present lol

Hi Karen, we do plan to make a video on Royal Canin soon, but for now, you might like our review of www.wwwallaboutcats.com/royal-canin-cat-food-review
As for their wet kitten food specifically, it's okay, but not the best-you'll find a lot of potentially low-value by-products, vaguely-named proteins, and starchy additives.
Until when you feed a cat kitten food? I just adopted a 4month siamese. Any reccomendation on dry cat food?
You seem to have a much larger use of turkey for both people and cats in the US (I'm in Australia).
Great points! Thank you for sharing.
I just adopted a kitten about a month ago and your videos have been so helpful!! Where does Purina pro/Purina one kitten food fall in this lineup? That’s what they had been feeding her in the shelter

Overall, the food has a bit more carbohydrate content than your kitten needs and probably isn't the best option. My kitten is 12 weeks old & I’ve been feeding her Fancy Feast kitten food.
I just recently purchased the Simply Nourish kitten food… is it ok alternate the foods daily such as wet food for breakfast/lunch & kibbles for dinner?
Yes!
All About Cats should I even give my kitten dry food?

Hey, nice video. What do you think of the brand Edgar & Cooper?
We plan to review it very soon!
I'm about to change to this food selection:
- Applaws wet food pots and layers, which are for adult cats but I'm convinced it is really good quality food
-dry kitten food from a good brand like Hill's and Purina.
And extra which is called:
- Muscle Mass from Puur Natuur..
9:59 couldn’t find this stuff anywhere & i see it’s not linked in your description, did it discontinue?

Hello ! I am a new soon to be kitten owner and was wondering what would be the best choice for a wet kitten food?
What are your thoughts on using Dr. Elsey's Cleanprotein Formula Dry Cat Food versus Simply Nourish? Their website says that Dr. Elsey's cat food is a universal product that can be used for all life stages, you just double the amount for kittens.
Go for it! Yes, it'll be more expensive. But nutritionally, it's probably a better option than the Simply Nourish.

I just bought blue buffalo’s wilderness kitten food. Is that one better than the one you reviewed in this video?
Hey Maria, not necessarily! Are you using the wet or dry variety? Here's a response I gave to another viewer wondering about Blue Wilderness kitten food:
Regardless of if you choose wet or dry food, Blue Wilderness kitten food isn't the best thing you can give your cat. Additionally, Blue Buffalo has had a few recalls over the years, some of which may point to significant issues. www.wwwallaboutcats.com/blue-buffalo-cat-food-review
I'd consider it, but Blue Wilderness kitten food wouldn't be my first choice. Hope this helps!

Any recommendation for a 12 week old kitten who has a chicken allergy??
@@AllAboutCatsYT good to know!

Hey Lisa, that's a fair choice! I'd put it on par with our top dry recommendation for kittens. Overall, sounds like you have a good plan.
Love your videos! Thank you for the great content

The kitten food is only available in that recipe, but yes, Wellness CORE recipes are a good option for cats in general.
What do you recommend for 5month kitten with hairballs? Shes mostly wet food with the option of dry food and always has water... any recomendations?
Hey Bridgette, that's a tough call. Frequent hairballs can be indicative of digestive issues, so I'd talk to a veterinarian before making a decision. Otherwise, you may want to mix some pumpkin into your kitten's food-it can help a lot with hairballs.

Hello, I have heard that we should avoid ingredientes like by product or meal.

Diamon, I'd recommend going with wet food only. It's much less dense than dry food, so your kitten will get satisfied on fewer calories.
- Mallory

Thank you very much!
I can't say much, but although the ingredients in purina one do seem great, I still can't fully trust a brand that is owned by a chocate brand - nestle. Plus it says it has poultry nd poultry by products, I would personally try stay away from by products. Hope this helps
