I feel like the Mikasa getting buried beside Eren is the strongest evidence. If she really had moved on and married Jean or someone else, it does not make sense for her to live her whole life after having moved on and then still wanting to be buried next to Eren instead of her husband
According to the data book she did not marry anyone. The child is adopted from Historias Ophanage and the man who is with her is Armin. All started with those 3 and ended with those 3. Then there is the flowers. At the begining she leaves 4 roses which simbolizes that "no one will get beetween us" and at the end she leaves one which means eternal love ( or something like that). Finally when she is buried, not only she does not have a ring and she does have the scarf, she is buried asied Eren with white flowers which simbolizes purity and virginity. This will make sense seeing her total devotion to Eren. You can also see that Armin was the last one to die simbolizing that he was the last one to get to the tree always.

3rd makes it more believable that Mikasa married none of them (Armin or Jean). Ambassadors are only there to visit Paradis time to time but not stay there. Imagine what the Yeagerists would do to them that they killed their most important figure (Eren) By the time by whoever we speculate between Armin/Jean/random person visits Paradis, they come to Eren's grave together with Mikasa. In the Manga final chapters, you can check that Mikasa does not have a ring and her right wrist where the Azumabito Family mark was covered, which was not supposed to be covered if she had a family as it will be passed to her offspring. In the anime, it was animated that there was somewhat a ring in Mikasa's left finger on her deathbed. The thing is, marriage ring doesn't exist in AoT. As far as I know, Eren's mother, Mikasa's mother, they didn't have a ring on their finger, so I don't know about it

Even though it wasn’t mentioned in the anime, Connie says that after Eren was killed Historia provided protection to everyone who was involved or linked with the Alliance. That includes Connie’s mum, Jeans parents and Mikasa. So I’m sure that Jean would be able to live normally on Paradis with his family. Also as an ambassador for the outside world to Paradis it does make sense that he would return to the island seeing as his job would require him to be in contact with the Yeagerists should a crisis occur.
Fun fact if you start the series from the begining you will feel like you saw the memories of the future from eren and watch everything becoming true 😊
What is obvious to me is that she has moved on. If she stopped in one place and never found another happiness, she would be no different from Ymir and her obsessive love for King Fritz. In my opinion, one of the main themes of the series is that no matter how bad life and fate are, you have to move forward, because you will remain in the prison of your own fears and sorrows.
Yeah! I don't get why people want Mikasa to die alone. She deserves to be happy and move forward. Even if the guy is Jean, Eren would actualy be happy that she is with a good person.
I think the main idea was that you don’t have to keep following the one you love. You still have your freedom. So you can choose to keep loving but if it’s at the cost of innocent lives then you are free to free yourself.
The anime actually indirectly confirm that he is not Armin in the end screen. In the anime version we have more scene with the guy and Mikasa compared to only 2 panels in the manga. In one of the scene in the anime, we can see the guy is much taller than Mikasa which at the very least confirm that it is not Armin, since he is always drawn shorter than Mikasa.

I’m not saying I support Jean with Mikasa, but one possibility the anime (and not the manga) has definitely helped us eliminate is the man being Armin. In the anime it’s made clear the guy with Mikasa is taller than her, while Armin is supposed to be shorter, so it can’t be Armin. I’m also doubtful that Mikasa didn’t marry this man, as we can see in the anime that he stuck with her and was hugging her all the way until her death. So the possibility of her adopting child and remaining single is unlikely, which means she most likely married a man, but we just aren’t sure if it’s Jean or a random.

Since this was never confirmed, all we had are theories. I'm a person who love the idea of "ONE TRUE LOVE" and I'd love for Mikasa to love only Eren her whole life but that's not how I see the ending. I think she did get married. Ultimately, Isayama wants Mikasa to be the opposite of Ymir. Ymir is a person who cannot move on, so I think the mangaka made it so Mikasa can move on but still keep Eren in her heart. It's possible that the husband is not one of the characters we know, like Historia's husband. But I somehow think it's Jean. The fedora hat, the coat, the hair, looks like Jean on one of the scenes from a previous episodes. Jean also shows a flashforward, and the wife looks like Mikasa. On the flashforward, it was Jean on the background, the wife, and 1 child. Which is the same on the post credits scene, just addition of other friends(maybe?) and their families. Regarding the topic of Jean being an ambassador for peace, it can last for 10 years can it? They are young when the rumbling happened. 10 years or more, they can still get married and have a family, much must have changed by then. I'm not into the idea of Mikasa being with someone else but all I see points to that.
I was a fan of the idea, too. Then, nearly two decades later, it all went downhill. Down to where all my worst fears and nightmares were. It was a bad time. Even came to a head during a soap opera across the sea. I kind of love that she could have moved on. I did, and couldn't be happier or more fulfilled than I am with my significant other. I'd choose this over true love every time. I mean, not that anybody asked, but I feel like I could give atleast somebody some perspective for their headcanon- since I stayed out of loyalty after they saved my life. There's a clear parallel there.
Didn't you see the beginning of the video? Jean couldn't live there without putting his life at risk and there are several very similar characters in the story.

For a matter of fact, that isn't possible. Seeing genetics, both Armin and Annie have blond hair, so the kid should likely have blond hair as well. But that would be good if it's a rare case haha.

Doesn't work that way, for recessive genes to show it has to be pure recessive, and blond is recessive and black is dominant. What your describing could only work in reverse with a dominant traits have a recessive and passing on the recessive. She NEVER stopped loving Eren but at the same time, after 10 years (that's no coincidence) as we see in the anime she comes to the grave with a man and a baby. She thus loved another man and loved her child, just like she kept loving Eren till the end. It's not mutually exclusive. She could still remember Eren till the end and also build a family

I actually like the idea of it being Jean because only he would understand and accept that Mikasa's heart can never be 100% his. She would always love Eren even if she finds comfort with another.
@jokeraot862 To me, it makes sense that Jean would be okay with this because throughout the series, he always liked/loved Mikasa even knowing her feelings for another. It was an irrational emotion but you can't stop loving who you love. Which is much within the theme of AOT. (As Mikasa can't stop loving Eren.) It is a bitter sweet ending - Jean gets the girl he loves but not her heart. Mikasa gets a family but not with the person she loves.
I've said this before, I think the ending scenes are for one self to interpret. There are a bunch of theories, which goes to show that no one knows for certain who it is or what happened. Nothing has been confirmed. There's also the white lillies, which in Japan symbolizes purity. The ring on her finger doesn't necessarily mean she's married. A ring on the ring finger could also just mean you're in a relationship (with Eren in this case). I also don't get why Mikasa would marry Jean (or anyone at all), and give her life to that person when Eren is the one she truly loves. Again, nothing is confirmed, so no one knows.

The funny part is that basically almost all people ignore the first argument of the video, as it is extremely valid, if Jean lived on the island his life would be at risk, it wouldn't make any sense, I believe the author left it open so as not to displease anyone and let everyone "choose what they want", but this first argument takes away all the meaning of being Jean, even more so knowing that other important characters like History have already ended up with unknown characters.

I think it’s a bit of a theory jump to say that because Jean is a freedom ambasssdor he can’t be with Mikasa in Paradis. There was peace in Paradis for many decades and as long as Mikasa lived. It is not impossible that he was allowed to retire eventually. We don’t see Mikasa visiting in many years except when she brings the baby and before she dies with her possible family. So we don’t know if she stayed in Paradis or went somewhere else either. And that dude doesn’t look at all like Armin on face shape or hair color (and why can it be Armin in there who is also an ambassador but not Jean?). I think Isayama chose to leave things open for a reason which was so we could imagine the one we liked individually without having to disprove others
The story is good if it make you think about it after finished it but I’m just gonna take everything at face value. Since every mysteries in the series have been the most clear and in your face I’ve ever seen. like how the titans look like human, it’s because they were human and how Reiner, Annie in titan form resemble their human form and for Berthold, he was the tallest kid in town so ofcourse he is the colossal titan. And there are others things that just make you go “ofcourse that’s how it is, it was in front of me this whole time”
I want to say one thing after watching the anime. We see the baby being covered in a red scarf. Everything is turning gray, besides the baby and the scarf. Which yes, it is there to show the tragedy, but I can imagine this also being just the baby that gets adopted by Mikasa, hence why Armin and her would go to Eren's grave to show it to Eren.

I am a strong defender of her not getting married after. Why? Because it would ruin the moral of this story, it would ruin her character and literally would let us all face our current world problem of how we treat relationships. In the manga she loved helping historia with the orphans and I can absolutely, really see Mikasa to keep doing so. She got adopted herself and with that met Eren, why not continue this path? I also don't think people understand that she literally beheaded the man of her life. HOW can ANYONE move on from that EVER? People and their modern standards of ''well I move on instantly'' makes me sick.. The love Mikasa has for Eren is so pure and loyal. On TOP of everything, the ring is silver. It's not a wedding ring. Take a look at the number of flowers on erens grave and looks at the Lily flowers when she dies. The 4 flowers mean "no one will come between two of us" and the white Lily flower in Mikasas grave. Guys, you are overestimating the symbols. The Mangaka included various ideas in his work, bringing very few of them to complete development, and in order not to piss off the fans of the work further, he must have thought of leaving it to 'interpretation'. After all, except for a few clues, we know nothing about what they did or experienced during those four years in the co-ordinate. All things considered, I would prefer an ending in which she is guided by the memory of Eren but has continued to live her life and adventures without denying her past.

Considering that the ending credits show at least a century of peace after this meeting, it's very likely that they managed to get a deal that allowed them to come back to live in the island if they wanted to. Plus, Mikasa didn't love Jean back because Eren was there. He's dead. She keeps paying homage to his memory, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she spent 70 years with her heart locked to any other love possibility. We can't even see her scarf expect in the first scene (when the group meets her in Eren's grave) and in the last scene (when she's buried). So it's possible that was able to move on, to enjoy the experiences of the rest of her life without being trapped by grief, while she remained loyal to Eren's memory. It'd be a decent character development for her, really

The kid returning to the tree was Mikasa's descendent. Mikasa most likely got together with Jean. This child will be part Eldian and part Ackerman. To make an amazing sequel, this child will be called Eren Kirstein. He would've been receiving memories from Eren telling him to go to the tree. This repeats the cycle again.
But the author did confirm it tho, when eren asked her to promise him that she would forget about him, she clearly stated she could not keep that promise. Also when she finally passed away and wakes up in the paths, first person she sees is eren and are already holding hands which made her shed some tears. Idk man but if she was married and first person she could think off to meet up with us eren instead of her husband then that’s pretty fucked up.
If you look closely you can clearly see a ring on her finger in between the flowers in the picture of her funeral and that dude is Jean ,just so many similarities,Armin doesn't have a long face and jawline as the man has who is with Mikasa along with her baby. Jean matches all the details with that man. Isayama didn't want to get into trouble with clearly specifying this so he gave us something incomplete but anime did hint it better than the manga by adding the Ring.

Anyways,Look There was absolutely NO REASON to change that and Put a RING in the anime that came after the manga unless Isayama wanted to let people know which scenario was right. In my honest opinion Mikasa is married to Eren because she's too devoted to love anyone else and rather marry anyone she wears a ring to symbolize the similar notion "till death do us part" meaning she'd never betray him even in death.

Here are the reasons why I believe she didn’t marry: 1. Scarf - she kept it until death meaning she couldn’t let go and would love him till the end. This is like her engagement/wedding ring. 2. Azumabito mark - though not shown in the anime, she died with the mark. Her mom told her to pass it down to her kids. Why did Mikasa keep it? 3. Orphanage - in the short stories by Isayama, there’s a conversation of Historia&Mikasa which gave us a clue on what mikasa would do someday. 4. Shawl - only Historia wears a shawl. We see Mikasa wearing a shawl which meant she might be working there and adopted a kid eventually. 5. EMA - *THIS ONE IS VERY IMPORTANT* it’s always been Eren, Mikasa, Armin from the start to finish. We started with Eren, Mikasa, Armin and to end it with Jean & Mikasa scenes/ panels DON’T make sense at all. 6. Hairstyle - armin had the same hairstyle as Jean in isayama’s sketches 7. When Eren told her to forget him and throw away the scarf when he dies, she said “she can’t.” And she stayed true until her death. 8. Eren’s grave- the translation of the words in his grave is “here forever, resting peacefully, my most beloved.” At the end of her life, she wanted to be buried next to him. If that’s not love what is?? 9. The child - back to the orphanage talk, mikasa is an orphan herself, it would make sense that she helps Historia and eventually adopts a kid. She knows what it’s like to be an orphan. 10. Flowers - notice how she’s surrounded by different colors of roses - each color means something but they’re all related to love and about herself. 11. The Ring - (**THIS IS ANIME ONLY SINCE THERE’S NOTHING LIKE THAT IN THE MANGA**) wedding rings are worn on the left hand, and so are Chastity rings. The ring she wore might’ve symbolize her vow of loving Eren forever. 12. The ending song - The lyrics is literally a love letter for Eren. It sings about her longing and desire to see and be with him again. Also, the visuals showed us their reunification in the afterlife. How so? The music video starts with Mikasa being alone and soon jumps in the water to imply that she’s six feet under. Next we see her floating above the water with her eyes close, SURROUNDED BY FLOWERS. In her burial, she is surrounded by flowers. And then, we see her spending time with Eren, implying that she’s dreaming. At the end of the video, we see her open her eyes, and voila! Eren is holding her hands and there’s a butterfly. In Japanese culture, butterflies are a symbol of “resurrection, rebirth, and the triumph of spirit and soul over a physical prison.” How does this connect to Mikasa and Jean, the ending song literally showed us that Mikasa only loved Eren until the end of her life. Jean had no place in her heart since the beginning of AOT. This makes me believe that she didn’t marry anyone.
Another thing, if Mikasa only thought about and loved Eren until her death and even all the way to the afterlife. It would feel so unfair for Jean to be married to her. He is not even her second or third choice because all her choices is to be with Eren. Honestly, Jean & Pieck as a ship is better.

It is quite undestandable to think that mikasa would end up with jean. Jean was known to resemble eren, even by his friends. But mikasa died a virgin also can be seen through symbolism in the ending. Jean might just be married with a mikasa lookalike. Fun fact : In jean's ova episode jean can be seen painting a figure that looks like mikasa despite not knowing her yet.
The theory about her not marrying is stupid: all idea about her last sacrifice and a bird wrapping the scarf - was her regaining her life for herself and her own future (the scarf is a promise to live and fight fully. Her scarf falls down because she’s sad and all full of thoughts about Eren, but he reminds her again that she has to keep fighting, keep moving forward). Doesn’t mean she doesn’t love Eren, or that he has done so much for her. But the idea was to live her live free from burden of the love that could never flourish. In reality - life continues, Eren wished for her to live fully and open her heart for more people other than himself. I don’t see why the ending has to be emo-snotty-teenager love story (given that they can NEVER be together - there is OVA next to “lost girls” where she and Eren meet, and they still cannot be together. By the time by whoever we speculate between Armin/Jean/random person visits Paradis, they come to Eren's grave together with Mikasa.
In the Manga final chapters, you can check that Mikasa does not have a ring and her right wrist where the Azumabito Family mark was covered, which was not supposed to be covered if she had a family as it will be passed to her offspring.
In the anime, it was animated that there was somewhat a ring in Mikasa's left finger on her deathbed. We can interpret it either she had been married indeed (its up to you) OR it can be a chastity ring (sign that she's unmarried or prevent men to hit on women) or idk to Isayama maybe to spice up the interpretations of us viewers

Even though it wasn’t mentioned in the anime, Connie says that after Eren was killed Historia provided protection to everyone who was involved or linked with the Alliance. That includes Connie’s mum, Jeans parents and Mikasa. So I’m sure that Jean would be able to live normally on Paradis with his family.
Also as an ambassador for the outside world to Paradis it does make sense that he would return to the island seeing as his job would require him to be in contact with the Yeagerists should a crisis occur.

What is obvious to me is that she has moved on. If she stopped in one place and never found another happiness, she would be no different from Ymir and her obsessive love for King Fritz. In my opinion, one of the main themes of the series is that no matter how bad life and fate are, you have to move forward, because you will remain in the prison of your own fears and sorrows.

The anime actually indirectly confirm that he is not Armin in the end screen. In the anime version we have more scene with the guy and Mikasa compared to only 2 panels in the manga. In one of the scene in the anime, we can see the guy is much taller than Mikasa which at the very least confirm that it is not Armin, since he is always drawn shorter than Mikasa.

Starting with them and ending with them, parallelly.
And talking about possibility, there is high chance that she didn't marry anyone.
I’m not saying I support Jean with Mikasa, but one possibility the anime (and not the manga) has definitely helped us eliminate is the man being Armin. In the anime it’s made clear the guy with Mikasa is taller than her, while Armin is supposed to be shorter, so it can’t be Armin. I’m also doubtful that Mikasa didn’t marry this man, as we can see in the anime that he stuck with her and was hugging her all the way until her death. So the possibility of her adopting child and remaining single is unlikely, which means she most likely married a man, but we just aren’t sure if it’s Jean or a random.

Since this was never confirmed, all we had are theories. I'm a person who love the idea of "ONE TRUE LOVE" and I'd love for Mikasa to love only Eren her whole life but that's not how I see the ending. I think she did get married. Ultimately, Isayama wants Mikasa to be the opposite of Ymir. Ymir is a person who cannot move on, so I think the mangaka made it so Mikasa can move on but still keep Eren in her heart. It's possible that the husband is not one of the characters we know, like Historia's husband. But I somehow think it's Jean. The fedora hat, the coat, the hair, looks like Jean on one of the scenes from a previous episodes. Jean also shows a flashforward, and the wife looks like Mikasa. On the flashforward, it was Jean on the background, the wife, and 1 child. Which is the same on the post credits scene, just addition of other friends(maybe?) and their families. Regarding the topic of Jean being an ambassador for peace, it can last for 10 years can it? They are young when the rumbling happened. 10 years or more, they can still get married and have a family, much must have changed by then. I'm not into the idea of Mikasa being with someone else but all I see points to that.

I was a fan of the idea, too. Then, nearly two decades later, it all went downhill. Down to where all my worst fears and nightmares were. It was a bad time. Even came to a head during a soap opera across the sea.

She NEVER stopped loving Eren but at the same time, after 10 years (that's no coincidence) as we see in the anime she comes to the grave with a man and a baby. She thus loved another man and loved her child, just like she kept loving Eren till the end.

It was an irrational emotion but you can't stop loving who you love. Which is much within the theme of AOT. (As Mikasa can't stop loving Eren.) It is a bitter sweet ending - Jean gets the girl he loves but not her heart. Mikasa gets a family but not with the person she loves.
I've said this before, I think the ending scenes are for one self to interpret. There are a bunch of theories, which goes to show that no one knows for certain who it is or what happened. Nothing has been confirmed. There's also the white lillies, which in Japan symbolizes purity. The ring on her finger doesn't necessarily mean she's married. A ring on the ring finger could also just mean you're in a relationship (with Eren in this case). I also don't get why Mikasa would marry Jean (or anyone at all), and give her life to that person when Eren is the one she truly loves. Again, nothing is confirmed, so no one knows.

I think it’s a bit of a theory jump to say that because Jean is a freedom ambasssdor he can’t be with Mikasa in Paradis. There was peace in Paradis for many decades and as long as Mikasa lived. It is not impossible that he was allowed to retire eventually. We don’t see Mikasa visiting in many years except when she brings the baby and before she dies with her possible family. So we don’t know if she stayed in Paradis or went somewhere else either. And that dude doesn’t look at all like Armin on face shape or hair color (and why can it be Armin in there who is also an ambassador but not Jean?). I think Isayama chose to leave things open for a reason which was so we could imagine the one we liked individually without having to disprove others
The story is good if it make you think about it after finished it but I’m just gonna take everything at face value. Since every mysteries in the series have been the most clear and in your face I’ve ever seen. like how the titans look like human, it’s because they were human and how Reiner, Annie in titan form resemble their human form and for Berthold, he was the tallest kid in town so ofcourse he is the colossal titan. I am a strong defender of her not getting married after. Why? Because it would ruin the moral of this story, it would ruin her character and literally would let us all face our current world problem of how we treat relationships. In the manga she loved helping historia with the orphans and I can absolutely, really see Mikasa to keep doing so. She got adopted herself and with that met Eren, why not continue this path? Take a look at the number of flowers on erens grave and looks at the Lily flowers when she dies. The 4 flowers mean "no one will come between two of us" and the white Lily flower in Mikasas grave. In Japanese tradition, when a women has Lily flower with her grave, it means that women has died as a virgin.

The Mangaka included various ideas in his work, bringing very few of them to complete development, and in order not to piss off the fans of the work further, he must have thought of leaving it to 'interpretation'.
As for the ending, we must remember that before being lovers, the two were brothers, and the white colour the sincerity of a love no longer based on attraction but on mutual remembrance (in some cultures, love between relatives is considered 'higher' than that between two lovers). Therefore, her wish to be buried with Eren could also be interpreted as her wish to be buried with her family. After all, except for a few clues, we know nothing about what they did or experienced during those four years in the co-ordinate.
All things considered, I would prefer an ending in which she is guided by the memory of Eren but has continued to live her life and adventures without denying her past.

Considering that the ending credits show at least a century of peace after this meeting, it's very likely that they managed to get a deal that allowed them to come back to live in the island if they wanted to. Plus, Mikasa didn't love Jean back because Eren was there. He's dead. She keeps paying homage to his memory, but that doesn't necessarily mean that she spent 70 years with her heart locked to any other love possibility. We can't even see her scarf expect in the first scene (when the group meets her in Eren's grave) and in the last scene (when she's buried). So it's possible that was able to move on, to enjoy the experiences of the rest of her life without being trapped by grief, while she remained loyal to Eren's memory. It'd be a decent character development for her, really

The kid returning to the tree was Mikasa's descendent. Mikasa most likely got together with Jean. This child will be part Eldian and part Ackerman. But the author did confirm it tho, when eren asked her to promise him that she would forget about him, she clearly stated she could not keep that promise. Also when she finally passed away and wakes up in the paths, first person she sees is eren and are already holding hands which made her shed some tears. Idk man but if she was married and first person she could think off to meet up with us eren instead of her husband then that’s pretty fucked up.
If you look closely you can clearly see a ring on her finger in between the flowers in the picture of her funeral and that dude is Jean ,just so many similarities,Armin doesn't have a long face and jawline as the man has who is with Mikasa along with her baby. Jean matches all the details with that man.
Isayama didn't want to get into trouble with clearly specifying this so he gave us something incomplete but anime did hint it better than the manga by adding the Ring.

@@viniciusmaia1407 There's nothing stopping Jean from taking a break later on and living his life.In the manga she didn't had a Ring and Isayama left hints 'for' and 'against' the marriage idea probably because he was already in the threats zone for killing Eren off ,A clear scene of Mikasa's marriage might have been too much to handle. Anyways,Look There was absolutely NO REASON to change that and Put a RING in the anime that came after the manga unless Isayama wanted to let people know which scenario was right.
Also everyone knows very well that Isayama takes active part during anime production and directs the producers about whatever changes he wishes to have been made like he asked specifically about what to be shown in the ending songs and all the related foreshadowing.
I too was totally against the idea after the Manga ended but came to accept it later on. Most of the hints Isayama showed indicate it clearly.

I just think that the possibility of it being Jean is very low because that would be a flaw in the script, it wouldn't make sense for Jean to be able to live in Paradis just because he stopped being an ambassador for peace since the Yegerists group were very radical. I believe there is a good chance of it being just a random character, just like it was with Historia. I personally don't like this ending at all because it leaves the characters with a very open conclusion and doesn't show Mikasa, for example, having a happy scene after Eren's death.

There is also something i noticed in the last part, when Jean was combing his hair after the battle he said he is going to see some girls so it means Jean end up with someone else.
You fail to realize he was going to meet Mikasa for the first time since the final battle, so he lied about "the girls" when he was actually combing his hair for Mikasa.
In my honest opinion Mikasa is married to Eren because she's too devoted to love anyone else and rather marry anyone she wears a ring to symbolize the similar notion "till death do us part" meaning she'd never betray him even in death.

My theory? The first one. I know people don't like the idea of Jean and Mikasa having a family in the end, but I actually kinda don't mind it too much, because it shows Mikasa was eventually able to move on and find happiness in the end, and Jean always had a crush on her anyway

Here are the reasons why I believe she didn’t marry:
1. Scarf - she kept it until death meaning she couldn’t let go and would love him till the end. This is like her engagement/wedding ring.
2. Azumabito mark - though not shown in the anime, she died with the mark. Her mom told her to pass it down to her kids. Why did Mikasa keep it?
3. Orphanage - in the short stories by Isayama, there’s a conversation of Historia&Mikasa which gave us a clue on what mikasa would do someday.
4. Shawl - only Historia wears a shawl. We see Mikasa wearing a shawl which meant she might be working there and adopted a kid eventually.
5. EMA - *THIS ONE IS VERY IMPORTANT* it’s always been Eren, Mikasa, Armin from the start to finish. We started with Eren, Mikasa, Armin and to end it with Jean & Mikasa scenes/ panels DON’T make sense at all.
6. Hairstyle - armin had the same hairstyle as Jean in isayama’s sketches
7. When Eren told her to forget him and throw away the scarf when he dies, she said “she can’t.” And she stayed true until her death.
8. Eren’s grave- the translation of the words in his grave is “here forever, resting peacefully, my most beloved.” At the end of her life, she wanted to be buried next to him. If that’s not love what is??
9. The child - back to the orphanage talk, mikasa is an orphan herself, it would make sense that she helps Historia and eventually adopts a kid. She knows what it’s like to be an orphan.
10. Flowers - notice how she’s surrounded by different colors of roses - each color means something but they’re all related to love and about herself.
11. The Ring - (**THIS IS ANIME ONLY SINCE THERE’S NOTHING LIKE THAT IN THE MANGA**) wedding rings are worn on the left hand, and so are Chastity rings. The ring she wore might’ve symbolize her vow of loving Eren forever.
12. The ending song - The lyrics is literally a love letter for Eren. It sings about her longing and desire to see and be with him again. Also, the visuals showed us their reunification in the afterlife. How so? The music video starts with Mikasa being alone and soon jumps in the water to imply that she’s six feet under. Next we see her floating above the water with her eyes close, SURROUNDED BY FLOWERS. In her burial, she is surrounded by flowers. And then, we see her spending time with Eren, implying that she’s dreaming. At the end of the video, we see her open her eyes, and voila! Eren is holding her hands and there’s a butterfly. In Japanese culture, butterflies are a symbol of
“resurrection, rebirth, and the triumph of spirit and soul over a physical prison.” How does this connect to Mikasa and Jean, the ending song literally showed us that Mikasa only loved Eren until the end of her life. Jean had no place in her heart since the beginning of AOT. This makes me believe that she didn’t marry anyone.
Another thing, if Mikasa only thought about and loved Eren until her death and even all the way to the afterlife. It would feel so unfair for Jean to be married to her. He is not even her second or third choice because all her choices is to be with Eren. Honestly, Jean & Pieck as a ship is better.

It is quite undestandable to think that mikasa would end up with jean. Jean was known to resemble eren, even by his friends. But mikasa died a virgin also can be seen through symbolism in the ending. Jean might just be married with a mikasa lookalike. Fun fact : In jean's ova episode jean can be seen painting a figure that looks like mikasa despite not knowing her yet.
The theory about her not marrying is stupid: all idea about her last sacrifice and a bird wrapping the scarf - was her regaining her life for herself and her own future (the scarf is a promise to live and fight fully. Her scarf falls down because she’s sad and all full of thoughts about Eren, but he reminds her again that she has to keep fighting, keep moving forward). Doesn’t mean she doesn’t love Eren, or that he has done so much for her. But the idea was to live her live free from burden of the love that could never flourish. In reality - life continues, Eren wished for her to live fully and open her heart for more people other than himself. I don’t see why the ending has to be emo-snotty-teenager love story (given that they can NEVER be together - there is OVA next to “lost girls” where she and Eren meet, and they still cannot be together. Meaning, in all the scenarios and worlds they cannot be together regardless) about one true forever love, when in aot clearly is a normal practice to remarry and give birth to his/her own kids. If Eren has taught her anything - he has to be boss of her own life, and that family and children of your own - is a path for happiness. I don’t see why Jean couldn’t live freely in Paradise, I’m sure Historia would give protection to him and others. Also, they would have a lot of fortune to keep themselves in good neighbourhood
