    Gluttony is actually not just constant eating, but described as a lack of self restraint. A good representation of that is overeating, hence the name gluttony.

    • @Serpentking789
      @Serpentking789 8 месяцев назад +80

      A better representative animal for the sin of gluttony would be something that eats far more than it actually needs, so much so that it either eats until it's immobile (like a vulture or maybe a wolverine) or it might accidentally kill itself in the process of eating (like a frog that chokes to death while trying to eat something bigger than itself, or a pelican that gets its throat-pouch ripped to shreds because it tried to eat a live turtle).

      The snake from the video still counts.
      Scorpions may count too, as it was proven with pet scorpions that scorpions will eat with no restraint if fed constantly, to the point of obesity.
      Take in mind that scorpions have exoskeletons, so obesity may be even more dangerous to them than to creatures like us, since they may not fit their exoskeleton if the get too obese.

      @@Serpentking789 i feel like mosquitos fit the bill, because i hate them. jokes aside, if mosquitos are the sin of gluttony then by extension most parasites fit the bill, since they would benefit off of others and potentially harbor some terrible stuff (the stuff that could get you sick or kill you). i would appreciate if someone could chime in for this, because i also believe to some extent locust swarms fit gluttony

      Snails? But they can't go any faster that's not lazyness at all, it's choosing to do way less than you can despite not needing to.
      Choosing to avoid responsibility I suppose though that might actually be alot of animals due to lack of care for monogumy though realising why they don't work with that due to it taking to many reasources.
      Pigs do have restrait, they can actually be charitable to their own or anyone they do like.
      So coming to know that glottuny isn't just food realated it's based on how you can restrain yourself from hurting yourself and others.
      I wonder what snake is envyous, lions well malicous hatred can be put upon if it doesn't fit their standard with the hole killing someonelses children if it ain't theirs.
      Peacocks litterary sacraficed everything else just to look good, if i remember right so intern they let their pride be their downfall.
      Goats? I just remember them being able to eat alot but outside of that I don't get where the lust thing comes from.

      @@alexcat6685 Pig eat anyone and amything especially the wild pig. There are many cases the farmer pass out due to stroke in pig farm and pig eat him clean. People dump dead bodies in pig farm to hide evidence in past.
      The snail one is weird I don't know why they associated sloth with snail. Imo sloth should be associated the sloths(animal from monkey family).
      This is based on historical religion and culture. For the reason why goat is associated with lust :
      In the age of Bosch, goats and he-goats were considered as symbols of lust and witchcraft, not only for their association with Aphrodite and Dionysus, but also for their proneness to mate, for its natural instinct, almost from the moment in which they are born.

Also dragons considered every other race beneath them and have superiority complex. That's why I said pride as it's basically like having all other sins combined they are lustful as they mate with every living things by transforming, greedy for anything they don't have, wrathful if somone provoke them by stealing, slothful as they considered themselves superior and envious of other dragons fame and treasure.

    Chimps have actually been observed to do similar things in similar situations. The observed theory is that chimps have an extremely rigorous social hierarchy that, if violated, is deemed worthy of every cruel and unusual punishment ever to whomever or whatever violated it.
    In the specific situation brought up in this video, Moe was considered the lowest of the low in the hierarchy, as he was more passive, awkward, and nervous due to his upbringing around humans and not other chimps. When the other chimps (the smaller one being in an above-par position and the bigger one being the leader of the whole group) saw the couple giving Moe cake, the became extremely aggressive because they saw their hierarchy being essentially "disrespected," as all of the good stuff (like cake) goes to the leader first and foremost, and Moe should've been the one getting the scraps if there were any left for him to have.

If you have a good relationship with a chimp, it will probably view you as a friend or family member. I think that burmese pythons are made out to be a much more serious problem then they actually are.They don't eat any more often than any native snake its just that they are bigger so more people are scared of them. Sure they eat rabbits and stuff but not even the largest burmese python could eat a 10 foot gator without being lethally injured, in fact a 10 foot gator would eat a 20 foot python without a problem. The real issue is that because of urban expansion, the gators have less wild space to reproduce and eat the pythons.

    • @ReptilesRule16
      @ReptilesRule16 6 месяцев назад

      I would like to add and mention that I do think efforts to breed various species of native kingsnake and release them into young python dense habitats could help reduce the invasive python populations as well as increase their own wild numbers. Kingsnakes are notorious for eating other snakes and their populations are declining due to habitat destruction.

    I don’t think it was because of the cake, but rather, because Mo had something that the young chimp didn’t
    A family
    Mo had a family who loved him, visited him, celebrated his birthday together while he was stuck in this cold, dingy cell alone
    The young chimp then probably decided that, if *he* couldn’t have a family, then no one could

    Ithink honey badgers aren’t necessarily prideful their just to aggressive so I think they deserve on the wrath list with the hippos. I think hippos also kinda deserve to be on the gluttony list since they are basically herbivores but still tend to randomly kill and eat animals

    • @Raptor_Ren
      @Raptor_Ren 8 месяцев назад +17

      I think pride still fits. There’s a honey badger in a zoo named Stoeffel who broke out of his enclosure all the time, but didn’t threaten his handlers or guests. He went into the lion enclosure though, barely survived getting mauled, and after making a full recovery, went back with his mate as backup.
