Pantera is known for one of greatest bands of all time for metal music. For me and for most people that play guitar, Dime (The guitarist) is the best of all time, and for some he isnt, but he 100% changed the way you play. He was so unique, technique, sound, vibrato, legato EVERYTHING man. He came to rock and rocked like no other. You should do more Pantera like Hollow , Floods, This love... There you can really feal the lyrics and GUITAR aswell. Great reaction btw keep on reacting
I agree. Dime is the greatest metal guitarist, if not the GOAT. His tone, his fret grip, and his picking technique is all chef's kiss. The man won guitar contests as a kid and how he ended up playing Deans early on.

It’s so fulfilling to see somebody discovering the guy you hold as the greatest metal guitar player to ever walk the planet. This man had a background in country and blues because of his dad‘s production studio. You can hear some of this influence in his soloing on the great Southern Trendkill. He idolize Van Halen and disappeared in a room for several weeks and emerged during his teenage years as a virtuoso. RIP Saint Vinny and Saint Dime 💔
I like you! You’re funny! First time I saw PANTERA I was 15 at a club in Winston Salem NC. Cowboys tour. Me and a couple friends right up front in front of Dime. It was amazing. The faces he was making while jamming. Great memory for me.
Phil is wearing a Crowbar shirt. I saw Pantera at the RIP Magazine concert in 93 at the Palladium in Los Angeles along with Crowbar, Prong, and SOD. We had arrived early and parked next to the tour buses. Afterwards, I was able to get all their autographs. That was fun.
A quick story about the main riff in this tune. Dime and his brother were both old/vintage/weird gear hounds. When they were on the road they would go to little music shops and pawn stores looking for odd stuff. That riff was something Dime came up on the spot with one day in a pawn shop while checking out an old distortion pedal they saw. Lucky they always carried a basic recorder with them as well and quickly recorder it for later use.
Pantera was one of my favorite band in High school. I went to see them in Quebec city when they came out with that album in 1994. Dimebag was awesome. Watch Domination live in Moscow.
Dimebag changed up the entire guitar scene with his playing as well as what Pantera created. Easily revolutionized an entire generation and more with their albums.
I first found Pantera at the end of 1994 and fell in love with Dimebag Darrell's guitar work as well as the production on this album and the previous one ... heavy riffs with solid grooves and clean transitions between sections. I've heard other bands that come close, but these albums are the pinnacle for me.
First time listening to Pantera? Girl! You should've reacted to their song Cowboys From Hell as your first from them, it's their anthem song that they're most known for.
The inspiration for this song, to think Phil was already in hellish pain by this time with the ruptured disc in his back. I saw them in Jan of 95 , think he said he was 26. I injured my back at 29, bulging discs. There's at least one interview from 10-12 years ago where he talks about it, in the mid-90s, what doctors and specialists were telling him his options were.....not good. So he suffered with pain 24/7, drinking, doin' H , OD'd . Mine was far less than his injury, I lost a lot of weight and muscle the first month, even dry heaving on an empty stomach from the pain. The one interview of his, I listen to him, and it's almost like the brother I never had, talking. He said through those years when it was the worst, no one understood what he was going through, like Phil said, they won't unless theyve had it, like a knife in your spine when you wake up, same knife if you move at all, same if you lay there, no quality sleep at night, that knife blade in your spine is always there.
