    Lyrics:
    I wonder if we'll smile
    In our coffins while
    Loved ones mourn the day
    Absence of our face
    Living, laughing, eyes awake
Is this too much for them to take?
    Too young for one's conclusion
    The lifestyle won
Such values you taught your son
    That's how
    Look at me now
    I'm broken
    Inherit my life
    I'm broken
One day we all will die
    Clichéd fact of life
    Force-fed to make us heed
    Inbred to sponge our bleed
    Every warning, a leaking rubber
A poison apple for mingled blood
    Too young for one's delusion
    The lifestyle cost
    Venereal mother embrace the loss
    That's how
    Look at you now
    You're broken
    Inherit your life
    You're broken
    That's how
    Look at us now
    I'm broken
    Inherit my life
    I'm broken
    That's how
    Look at me now
    I'm broken (broken)
    I'm broken (broken)
    I'm broken (broken)
    I'm broke

PanterA is not everyone’s cup of tea when they go hard. However, they have a softer side to them. The song is called “Cemetery Gates”, and it’s full of tone, melody, and deep lyrics. If you do watch that song, find the video with lyrics. It’s such a meaningful song, it would be wrong not to. Great reaction, but don’t limit PanterA to one type of style. They will surprise you….😊

I'm 61 have listened to Pantera from the beginning. My third child found my music files and fell in love with them when he was 6,He's now twenty five. We all decided this is my theme song. I have broken my back in four places, hence I'm Broken. Adrenaline is a cool thing when you need it, this band comes through.😎
My wife once asked me how do you like the metal stuff so much? She said I just don't get it it's not for me. I explained to my best understanding ,that young men need to feel strong or powerful in this tuff world. That's what started it for me it tickled my adrenaline gland and helped with tougher parts of getting to taking care of my own business rather then calling on parents or brothers. Later I had so much that helped through the harder time.
My wife now comes home after work with Pantera ,ACDC Black Sabbath ,etc. Cranked up loud . I smile usually and ask if she had a tough day at work lol. Then I nod and say that metal music helps rite. She just says YEP!😎 "Cemetery Gates", might work for you it's pretty cool song easy to comprehend the words.
Thanks for giving them a try, they have a huge following.

Pantera isn't for everyone. I was just one that hated them at first, but they grew on me. Much like Korn did. They were trailblazers when Grunge was taking over the music scene. They made a HUGE impact on their type of music. Great stuff. They knew how to draw a crowd.

  • @sumonjamal1653
    @sumonjamal1653 Год назад +3

Pantera in the 90's were the metal kings 🤘🤘 Heavier than Metallica... More extreme metal than thrash metal... Only for the heavy-headed 😈
Believe it or not, Pantera started in Texas in the 80's as a glam metal band and released 4 albums that were more 'mainstream'... but few cared at the time. They decided around 1989 to get rid of the hair & flashy outfits and go harder and heavier, and they were signed internationally in 1990. Phil Anselmo (vocals) said that they wanted to 'terrify' people when they got onstage and could really get a crowd going 🔥 Pantera wanted to be as extreme as Slayer... groovy as old Van Halen... and heavy as old Black Sabbath... This 1994 record ('Far beyond driven') went to #1 on the US charts purely on the touring that they did from 1990 to '93... Pantera would be too heavy for commercial rock radio by then.
Pantera were known for their shredding tracks like 'Cowboys from Hell' ... 'Mouth for war'... '5 minutes alone'... 🤘🔥 but they also had songs that were very melodic, even mellow... 'Planet Caravan' was a mellow Black Sabbath cover... 'Cemetery gates' was a huge single back in 1990... 'Hollow' was a somber track... 'Floods' was psychedelic in its delivery...
The classic Pantera here was untouchable - Phil Anselmo (vocals), Rex Brown (bass)... brothers Dimebag Darrell (guitar) and Vinnie Paul (drums)... they carried on until 2001, and internal dissent led to their dissolution by 2003...
Tragically, Dimebag Darrell was killed by a deranged gunman at a show in Ohio in 2004, where he and Vinnie Paul were touring as a new band Damageplan... His brother would continue making music in a new band Hellyeah! from 2007 until his death of heart failure in 2018 (R.I.P.)
Recently, Phil & Rex decided to revive Pantera for touring only to honor Dimebag and Vinnie... Dimebag's close friend, guitarist Zakk Wylde was enlisted, along w/ Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante, who was close friends w/ all the Pantera members.

A general rule of thumb...the more intensively aggressive the soundscape, the more a band is creating a giant wall of sound, the harsher the tones (voice, guitar), the more prepared you should be to accept the whole thing as one, cohesive, unit...until your ear adapts, don't overly focus on lyrics, or time signature, or voicings....just enjoy the whole song as a single presentation of art...

As an avid fan of Pantera, I don’t think this is the right song to introduce someone to them. Cemetery Gates or This Love would definitely be a softer intro and definitely more up your alley. They’re more melodic and showcase Phil’s insane and impressive vocal range.

The drummer and the one you said had lion;s hair were brothers. Dimebag Darrell guitarist on Dec. 8, 2004 was murdered on stage while performing in his band Damageplan. In a small club in Ohio the lunatic was angry that Pantera was no longer, and focus'd all his rage towards Darrell. To add to the confusion this all occurred On the 24th anniversary of the assassination of John Lennon.

Thanks for reacting to this. If I may (and you can tell me to go punch sand and I wouldn't mind seriously lol) A band like this is more about the energy that the band brings to their songs. If I could make a suggestion when reacting to metal bands, you could have the lyrics of the song available off to the side and maybe go verse by verse if you want....? Just a suggestion, and as you stated, this music isn't for everyone and that's perfectly ok. Have a good one! :)

For me and for most people who play guitar, Dime is the best of all time, and for some he isnt, but he 100% changed the way you play. He was so unique, technique, sound, vibrato, legato EVERYTHING man. He came to rock and rocked like no other. You should do more Pantera like Cemetery Gates, Floods, This love... There you can really feal the lyrics and GUITAR aswell

Pantera is a legendary band that Carried metal music safely though the early to mid-90’s grunge music/emo-alt/hip hop explosion. Metal was all but ignored during that gap is time and Metallica went from being a metal band to being a pop rock outfit. No Metal bands were selling Albums in significant numbers. None except for Pantera that is. Pantera has accomplished something that not even mighty Metallica could achieve. Pantera is the only heavy metal band to ever debut a metal album a number 1 on billboards top 200, beating up billboard regulars, like Céline Dion, Mariah Carey, R. Kelly, and knocked Ace of Base from the #1 spot where it had been stubbornly squatting for 18 weeks. That was March 22 1994. No metal band ever had accomplished that before and no metal band has accomplished reaching that plateau since. This is a special band. You should give cemetery gates a try. Cemetery Gates, the unedited version not the official music video. The original music video cuts the first two gorgeous minutes of that beautiful song and it’s a crime. There is a long version of the official music video in which a fan, i believe, added the original first two minutes back on to the front of the song. That’s the version you want. Hope you give Pantera another shot. They have something for everybody. I believe you wanted a song that you could understand what he’s saying 😂. We’ll you’re in luck. They have quite a few of those. Cemetery Gates,
should be your first one. Panthers fans are some of the best fans in the world. We’re not a club. We just really enjoy watching the least likely listeners become fans. Who knows it might still not be your cup of tea after you listen to cemetery gate. Wouldn’t hurt to give it a shot huh? You know we’ll all tune in to watch you react to it lol.
I went to a Pantera concert when I was a boy. I came out of the concert A MAN.
    Enjoy

This new generation you represent truly wouldn't understand or appreciate this band for how great they were. I was buying their cd's since the release of vulgar display of power, saw them live in 1999, and wore out all of their cd's by 2001. This new P.C. generation can't properly understand Pantera's iconic status, and that's a damn shame. It has to suck to be born after 2000

If you do metal, maybe look at the lyrics first. Then when you listen to it, you’ll catch more. No hate. It is hard to hear the lyrics. But some of the most poetic words are written in metal songs.

Loved your reaction. Try reacting to cemetery gates the guy , Phil Anselmo, can really sing very well and the guitar player Dimebag Darrell is one of the greatest guitar players of all time , so many great songs from this band. Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie the drummer are actually brothers.
