I'm 54 years old and this still makes me want to jump in the pit!!! I got to meet these guys at Tower Records when the Far Beyond Driven album was released. Great experience that I'll never forget.
Pantera pits were the "most expert" of all pits ever and yet they were so much fun. If you left without bumps, bruises, blood - get back in there, you ain't doing it right!!! All 3 of the times I jumped into Pantera pits, I left battered with a smile ear to ear

Pantara live was absolutely crazy! Saw them with Soulfly & Morbid Angel on their last tour & their last time playing in Dallas as a band. The entire arena was general admission. The pits were absolutely insane!

Pantera 'Dom/Hollow' off their Official Live album. No one ever reacts to it and its arguably their best song. Plus no one ever reacts to anything off their amazing Live album which is weird because theyre known specifically as an amazing live band. I realize you already did Domination but Dom/Hollow is half of each song spliced into one new song thats even better. This is how they actually played Domination. So check it out. Plus it would be a unique reaction as most people do the same 5 Pantera songs over & over.

saw them about 6 or 7 times between 1992 and 2001, every time it was just fucking nuts.
barriers broke into pieces or were pushed to the front of the stage by the crowd, securities had to run to the sides before they were crushed by the barriers. the kick drums were mixed so massive that you literally felt a hot pressure wave through the soundsystem. i remember, at the end of one song dimebag played such loud and high frequented notes that i had to grab my arms around the barrier because i didn't feel any ground under my feet - like literally be blown away by the sound. never heard such a brutal live sound from any other band.

Some people call Pantera "redneck" metal. Well I drink beer and listen to Pantera so I guess I know what I am!
Dimebag actually double-tracked the solo on this one. He played some of the notes differently within the takes probably because no-one would've brobably noticed it otherwise cause he's so precise :D He wrote such many great riffs but this is one of the best definitely.
Oddly I first heard this tune for the very first time on Beavis and Butthead (Pipe of Doom episode) and good god even though it was only a short clip the opening blew my goddam head off and bought the album next day. This band were just amazing, from Cowboys From Hell onwards. The riffs from this are just amazing, and I just can't keep still listening to the outra-such a simple riff but good god it's perfection.
If you've never delved into Pantera do yourselves a favor and jump right in. Timeless. Hard. Tasty. Yes.

they coined the genre "Groove Metal" and unfortunately you will never get the opportunity to see Dime and Vinnie live. I met them a couple months after CFW came out ... partied with them for a couple hours after the show that night ... head banging to groove metal ... you just go with the flow ... its the groove of doing the head shake between the head banging while you are settling into the new groove ... :)

Pantera does a song on Vulgar Display Of Power where you hear it. Far Beyond Driven is what album that song is off of listen to the whole album you will be able to head bang the album is awesome.

Dime was too humble and gifted to show off. At a certain point, that level of playing has to be your natural state of mind or else it's not fulfilling. Dime just had organic charisma and an ear for perfect tone and it resonated in his work. To this day I have never seen or felt anyone play with that much grace and pure raw talent. I grew up on Zeppelin and Floyd and all the greats and Dime still reigns supreme because he could play it all and still hit harder than everyone else, even today.
