    I really just can't keep my promises, I was like "not gonna watch anything else to see if the hype raises" than this video comes out and I can't hold myself from watching it for the IG, just to get sad again

    I have to play it for some time, to know how it feels in Wilds, but Rise and Sunbreak already have changed A LOT of the Insect Glaives flow.
    Switch skills, wirebugs and different Kinsect mechanics made it basically impossible to tell new hunters what this weapon is all about because it had no identity anymore.
    Assist,Speed and Powder Kinsects made three completely different approaches that maybe fun but how the heck should anyone new understand this mess in conjunction with switch skills?
    I'm an IG main since they introduced the weapon over ten years ago but never have I felt more disconnected to it because it keeps changing. Not evolving like Lance or Longsword. Not devolving for sure, but also not clearly improving like other weapons.
    Now they changed it again. They did not return to MH World IG, they did not keep what they did in Rise, they just show a nice looking swirly move with questionable use and they likely took away aerial. It's a big mystery to me why they used this iteration of IG to start their marketing campaign.
    Also i have not seen any satisfying or hype generating gameplay of it yet. Even the finisher where you shoot your Kinsects and it does "big" damage might flinch the monster, but also you as hunter get thrown backwards, creating unwanted distance and downtime that can't be avoided by aerial mobility. So far I am really disappointed by all the info and gameplay that I've seen.
    IG in general is a high and G-rank weapon, because Kinsects are half of the deal and I have hope for it and will definitely main it again, but come on Capcom! Show us why all this footage is not garbage in the end(game) when you actually have to do feel like your weapon of choice is worth all the (down)time.

    Everyone's so mad about Insect Glaive because they have to actually fight the monster instead of hovering above it for 30 minutes.
    Interact with the monster. Learn it's moveset. Dodge it. Use skill to jump OVER attacks.
    Insect glaive is in my top 5 most used weapons, and I absolutely love this grounded style more. It's much better than what we had in World and Rise.

      literally!!!!! idk why everyone is so determined to play this weapon in the least interesting way possible.. sidestep slash is absolutely one of the most exciting new moves that ANY weapon got and ive hardly seen anyone mention it lol

      Not to mention it's kinsect interaction in focus mode which finaly makes it an INSECT glaive, i just hope kinsect aspect will be more fleshed out

      Gotta agree. I love the more grounded focus but I also understand that the aerial combat is what visibly set the weapon apart from others minus the kinsect. Hopefully people can get over it 🙏

    I'm hoping that they actually made it so you get the extra aerial jump attack via some new deco to least give insect glave another deco option other than just running jump master.

      Something aerial HAS to be hidden in high rank. Otherwise they destroyed the weapons core identity in a way that even cool Kinsects can't make up for. Flying around might not be meta damage, but it's meta fun.

      @@b.b6656 Even if they did squirrel it away in HR that's still really bad. I don't know of any other weapon that got a core aspect of it ripped out, only to give it back later on with the requirement of using a deco. So even in that best case scenario it's still a backhanded slap to the IG.

      @@thedarkwolf25 it depend on people perception of the weapon and its identity. initially in mh4, the insectglaive way way more grounded and you couldn't spam aerial attack like in world. in that sense wilds insectglaive is closer to its pure identity of mh4. the way it was in world and Rise was weird because the weapon was basicaly in its own categorie. everyone was stuck on the ground having to actually interact with monster mechanic while the IG was in its own world just flying around the monster without a care because the monster didn't have moves to counter that playstyle.
      from the Dev POV, i don't think its worth because now they would have to code special anti aerial counter into each monster in the game, and its a waste of time/money just for to add moves that counter a single weapon.

      Probably just the weapon model is longer for the sword but it might be shorter on others 🤔

    They have just gutted IG imo. From the removal of the bounce on Vault Dance killing aerial style, requiring triple buff to get your advanced moveset, removal of the infinite ground combo, the new moving consuming the triple buff for mid-tier damage, not getting an offset/clash/adept dodge, and the baffling control changes they appear to have made.
    I will of course try IG in the demo and live game, just to see for myself, but at this point I expect to fully move over from maining IG to SA. By all appearances they have killed the bugstick and we didn't even get a shirt.

      i don't think its gutted. they just brought it back to more grounded style like it was originaly in mh4. in the 5th gen, it became too much aerial and monster couldn't keep up with it as most of them didnt' have any attack to counter an aerial mosquito player. and its so easy to get the red extract now with different move getting you extract, and seing directly in the reticle which part gave what extract that requiring the triple buff to get the advance moveset don't seem that bad. we will have to see in the final product how it really play out.

      @@champ6436 Have you seen all the stuff all the other weapons can do? IG has been gutted and is undeniably the most underwhelming weapon in Wilds. It didn't just become 'more grounded', it just got worse than even in MH4U. MH4U didn't have the bounce but it had the infinite combo and they even took that away. Not to mention all weapons got perfect dodging/guard except for the glaive

      ig just got returned to its better version after a shitty experiment with copter. copter was just an experiment it wasnt core to the weapon lol cause the weapon existed for a whole generation before it then they tried something new and decided they didnt like it made it back to the version they like

      There are people trying to justify the no adept dodge or anything else with "it gets some 'I frames' in the backward vault", just complete bullshit

    is it me or the nerfed IG dead? Damage is low need always all 3 buffs is insane stupid... when in late game you need comombos that deals damage and i think endgame monsters are become insane fast... when the kinsect become nothing crasy upgrade that we newer saw... Godd Night IG ........... (sorry English is not my first languarge)

      Still play test and it’s insanely early game which isn’t going to be a good indicator of how much damage or how good/bad a weapon will be. People usually freak out over demos about how some weapons suck but it usually ends up being fine on release. Give it some time. I’m sure the devs are aware of our concerns 🙏
