- Do you want to know how to fix your Nintendo Switch Black Screen & Not working? Sometimes when your Nintendo Switches battery is drained or it's turned off, it won't turn back on again without a proper charge, sometimes even it seems like it won't turn back on. To fix this get a good charge using a phone charge and plug it directly into the wall and remove the joycon controllers. Now press the power button down for 15 seconds then let go and press it down for another 15 seconds, and repeat this process.

You wouldn’t have lost anything except the cost of the switch. Unless you couldn’t recover your Nintendo Account

So weird. For mine it was as easy as taking the controllers off and pushing the button. I have been trying for 30 minutes and never would have even thought to take them off. Thank you so much :) ❤

Hey, so at first my switch would show the needs charge icon when I plugged it in, I searched it up and was told to hard reset, so I did. Now I'm left on a blank screen, any ideas?

i just kept hitting and kicking it because of rage. It works now.
Sadly this didn’t work. I’ve tried everything. The strangest thing is that the battery symbol will appear after holding the power button down for about 15 seconds and then it vanishes again. It’s fully charged but refuses to turn on. I’ll send it to Nintendo to be repaired I guess but this will cost me $$.
Honestly 10:33 at night my patience is out for the night nor do I have the money to fix it if it was something major so I’m so happy this worked

YOU ARE LITERALLY A LIFE SAVER!!!!, for anyone who is trying this out THIS DOES WORK!, if it doesn't work the first time, dont keep charging just keep holding the turn on button, or try to do the whole holding down button for 15 seconds then let go then press it again then let go then press it again and that time hole down on it till it lights up or opens, this DOES WOKR it might just need some patience.

Nice, I've owned the switch since launch and this is the first time the black screen happened to me and this worked. Thanks! One 15 sec and 1 button press. Didn't need the second 15 second press.
Mine turns on but turns off in a couple seconds in handheld mode but when it’s docked and connected to the tv it works fine?
I've just had that same issue it was tried everything wondering why the controllers were switched on can't get the screen to come on and I've just followed your method and its finally come back on thank you for your video I really appreciate it because I was losing my mind thinking I would have to pay a lot of money to fix it

In 2022, this approach works! Yesterday, my Switch suddenly had a white screen while I was playing games. It froze. I pressed the power button for around 10 seconds to shut it down. And then I pressed power button again. Nothing. I googled many websites and followed those steps but still nothing. My Switch can be pressed for 15-20 seconds to "reset" and then short pressed to show Nintendo's logo for 1-2 second. After that, my Switch refused to start up: the screen went blank, no light, no sound, absolutely irresponsive. I tried to initialize it by holding down the two volume buttons and power button. Nothing. I combined "reset" and "initialize" steps in many ways. Still nothing. I plugged in Nintendo's AC adapter, my Switch showed the battery life, around 50%. I left it charging for several hours, hoping for an automatic recovery. Hours later, I could see the battery is around 90% and my Switch was very warm. So, I was sure the battery was fine. But it still refused to boot up. I was about to give up. Luckily, I found this video and followed his steps. Voila, my Switch was resurrected. However, I am very confused. What causes this bizarre bug? After its resurrection, I played games on my Switch to see what would happen. About 10 minutes later, it went white screen again! So I repeated YourSixStudios' steps and my Switch revived again! I did an initialization and played games for several hours. Now, it's fine.
I have another way. All I did was take the joycons off and try to connect them. Then held the power for fifteen seconds after that stopped and repeated it again. It turned on perfectly synced with his

Mine did this when fully charged I would get the battery info and the joy con connection messages but the screen would stay otherwise black. Holding the button down for 15 seconds and then pushing it twice fixed it. Thanks for the video, I about had a heart attack when I went to use it and it wasn't turning on, I'm about to go on a trip and there is no way I'd have been able to replace it anytime soon.

Ok my switch works completely fine and even the touch screen works but the screen is black and just emits a small light, is there anything I could possibly do to fix it I've had it since I was very little 😢
But also when I did some repairs myself I think I may have done something wrong with the fan or grey thermal paste but it also displays perfectly on the screen just, it's now only a console

The problem I have is that when I plug it into the TV thing it says the battery is 100% but the second I pull it out of the cradle, it goes black screen and won't turn on. This fix didn't work for me either. I'll leave it to charge overnight and hope that will work.
