It’s actually not that bad and most things are just plug in and if something is actually broken it will most likely just need some light soldering depending on what it is
Our Switch has had this black screen for months. When you touch the screen, you can hear touch sounds along with pushing any of the physical buttons on the Joy Cons. I was about to accept Nintendo's Repair Acknowledgement when my gut told me to go back and try to search for an answer one more time. Thats when I came across your video. After you got the back opened showing the battery connector and the display ribbon cable a bulb went off in my head! I haven't opened mine up yet, but I'd bet the $100 I was about to pay Nintendo that the ribbon cable is what's giving me the issue!!!!! Somehow, one of my daughters knocked it or dropped it right causing it to lose connection! Thank you so much for making this video!!!! I'll come back and edit this after I get it opened.
Well done Mike. Looks like the backlight wasn't working, and that connector with the corrosion nearby feeds the right hand board which has the backlight connector on it. Maybe by taking out the ribbon cable it cleaned the corrosion away. Good job 👍👍👍
I didn’t know that was the back light ribbon, makes perfect sense now. Couldn’t see how that corrosion had happened, as in such a weird place, not where you’d expect water Ingres, but not complaining, after the currently on pause gameboy Color repair, I needed an easy one 😂 Thanks for the kind words and hope you’re doing good, I saw you were still having “fun” with the Roller 😆

Thank you so much!! I just upgraded to the gulikit joycon left and right and black screened after putting all the parts together. I tried your method of replugging the cable for the screen and it worked like a charm 😊
I have the same problem but not the corrosion. Doesn't look like you really did anything except take the ribbon out and reinsert it. I tried that and my problem is still consisting. Is there anything else you did we missed. Same exact problem with black screen and sound. I've cleaned it and reapplied the ribbons but still no luck for me.
@@tylersmith1412eah he most likely replaced that whole ribbon I think that’s un genuine to lie about that. I’m so frustrated with both my kids switched they were both dropped and make noise and you can hear games start up but you can’t see anything. He shouldn’t lead people on like that

99% isopropyl alcohol, it’s in a decanted bottle
