Here is a massage routine to address spinal curvature and improve posture. The purpose of the spinal curve is to absorb shock and provide an anti-gravity spring system.
The massage techniques demonstrated by Erik Dalton help to ensure the right amount of lumbar lordosis (curve in the lower back) and thoracic kyphosis (upper back curve). Various techniques and methods are showcased, including using the fingers, fists, forearms, and specialized moves such as the "Texas Twister."
These techniques aim to mobilize the tissue around the spine, address excessive curvatures, particularly those resulting from prolonged computer use, and improve overall spinal health and function.
These techniques are just a small part of a therapy approach developed by Erik Dalton Phd called Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques. Many of the techniques, like the foot techniques demonstrated in this video, use the bones as levers to mobilize the soft tissue and muscles that cross joints.
As an introduction to Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques (MAT) we suggest the “Posture, Pain, Performance” course at erikdalton.com.... This course is your starting point into the world of Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques and provides a thorough grounding in MAT principles. This original MAT course is fully updated to reflect the latest findings in manual therapy and pain science.
A Foundational Course for MMT Certification: The Posture Pain Performance MAT course is part of the Foundational MAT Program and will take you one step closer to Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT) certification (erikdalton.com.... It’s a perfect addition to your skill set for anyone working in sports medicine, massage therapy, structural integration, physical therapy or personal training.

Showing some love from the American Instutite of Alternative Medicine. Mr. Dalton, thank you so much for researching and demonstrating these techniques- they're as kind on clients as they are on the practitioner :)

5 minutes of floor stretching... no set thing to do...just play for 5 minutes and let your limbic system help out.

Would you consider the last technique to be somewhat of a muscle energy technique?

Yes, I actually learned a slightly different version from my mentor the late, great Dr. Phillip Greenman head of Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine. Copped a bunch of him over the 7 years I was attending post-grad workshops there....thanks
