17:00 Rendering doesn't have to take all that long. As long as there is a lot of light in the scene, it isn't complicated such as with volumetrics, and the lighting doesn't change, frames might get to reasonable quality in just a few seconds. I did a walk test last night of a 4 second animation, limiting each frame to 2 seconds render each which was good enough quality. The whole thing only took about 5 minutes. My system is pretty fast with 3 GTX-1080 cards, but it shouldn't necessarily take hours on any reasonable system. Just experiment with what quality you really need.
Thanks for sharing your tips. I assume you are a pro if you have 3 GTX-1080 graphics cards? Meaning this isn't a hobby for you, it is a business venture?
@@ParmyBaddhan No, 3 years ago when I had some $ I built a custom water cooled PC, inspired by videos on GForce Garage. Still probably went too crazy and spent too much. It handles Iray well though.
The animation seems quite interesting to be honest, and playing around with the nodes may seem a bit fun. I really like how you broke it all down to its simplest form. Even with the poses and transitions. This was a very good tutorial! But it also makes me think that taking a step forward into animation on Daz studio, will be a very long road. And a lot of hard work and dedication towards it yep. But at the same time I really like how it's available and how we can take advantage of it! This video is really great! 10/10 lol
Thanks for your kind comment. To really make the most of animation inside Daz Studio I feel you need to use animate2 and aniblocks. However I did not cover animate2 because well... it costs money and my tutorials cover what you can do for free inside Daz Studio. Have fun animating!
Good question. Puppeteer is used to create in-between poses that you can save as a preset for later use or sell as a pose set. With puppeteer mode you can control the smoothness of the animation because you are moving from one node to another node. There is no right or wrong way to do animations inside Daz Studio. Pick a format that you works for you and master it.
Hi Parmy, need your help, the keyframes get lost when i reopen Daz studio. It works fine until its open. Would be really great if u can provide any insight
I believe this is an ongoing issue with Daz Studio that has yet to be resolved. See here for more info, www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/408166/bug-report-animators-beware-ds-4-12-1-117-deletes-values-keyframes-en-masse/p2
Excelent video man! Congrats. One question though: Why in some of my frames daz seems to not apply the denoiser? I am asking cause some of my renders for one animation are really grainy and full of white pixels. Can you help me pls?
The only reason denoiser would not apply is if some of your frames are using CPU to render then the denoiser will not apply. Denoiser is only applied if the GPU is being used to render.
Can you make animation on avatar in DAZ 3D and export animated avatar to CLO3D, simulate clothing on him in Clo 3D and bring it back to Daz with simulated clothing and make animated video with high quality render
I wouldn't use Daz Studio for animations. The software is not best catered towards animating even though there are aniblocks for sale in the Daz3D shop. For rendering Daz Studio is a great free product because of the Iray rendering engine. If you want to do animations then I would look elsewhere.
Thanks for your kind comment. Like I said animating is not my strong point. However don't be surprised if you see one or 2 appear during RUclips videos.😉
It's driving me nuts, is there a way to just set manual keyframes, not in real time record mode? Pupeeter is very good but I can't grasp why you don't allow to keyframe the blends manually...
Hi Parmy, for animations I found a way to speed up "Image Series" frame renders... in Render Settings tab, turn Render Quality Engine "OFF", then set Max Samples to "100", do a few test renders, increase samples >100 or decrease
Hello, thanks for your tutorials they are very good, and well I have a question, is it possible to create an animation and save it to use it in another figure?
Awesome tutorial. I am currently getting more and more into animation. So the timing is perfect, big thanks! One big animation topic is inverse Kinematics. Could you make a video on that? Maybe by doing a basic run/walk animation. I am currently trying to get my head around IK, but there are so few tutorials about that I think important topic -.-
I personally don't like using IK. However with everything there are pros and cons and you should choose what works best for you. Having said that I will try to cover IK but I think Daz3D already covers this, ruclips.net/video/TFsOHY9ohMg/видео.html. I tried creating a walking and run animation using the puppeteer mode and it is possible. My attempt was not that good. complex movements like running and walking require a lot of time and patience to get right.
If you plan to animate, use Maya or Blender. There has never been a good animation made with DAZ as it's easily one of, if not the worst software to do that. And it's slow as hell even with a very good rig.
That's a good question. Animation inside Daz Studio is not my strength and I personally don't recommend animation inside Daz Studio since you can use the Daz Bridges to export into Blender and other software that have better animation tools.
Thank you for this tutorial, Parmy! About poses animation in this video, I notice the feet are sliding off between poses which make them kinda weird... I wonder if you have solution for this issue? I read somewhere that this is one biggest concern regarding animation in Daz Studio when compare it to other program like Blender or Maya. Since I notice you start making tutorial between Daz and Blender, is it possible to export Daz Character + environment to Blender, animate them in Blender, and export the animated result back to Daz Studio so I can render them with Iray? A tutorial would be great!
I never used puppeter before and... it looks pretty annyoing :/ I think IF I animate I would use the timeline, but tbh... daz3d is really not soo good for animating :(
I love the puppeteer mode. As a free way of animating it's great. I'm not personally into animation because it does take a lot of time to get a smooth and consistent animation. I think a lot of people use the iclone software for animation with the Daz3D figures. However the option is there if you wish to animate your Daz3d figures.
@@ParmyBaddhan I just saw animate2 is in sale, but no idea if that makes animations better... i really love the idea of making little animations, sadly gifs get most times ugly pixeld :/

Turn your subdivs off on viewport mode for your character, eyelash, and tear and it should make it quite smooth.
Thanks for the tips. I will use this information in my next animation.
Thank you so much!!

I'm new to trying animations. What is the advantage of using puppeteer, rather than just adding the poses to the timeline directly?

Yes, you add the animation to a video using any video editing software.
