Let's Get Real. I'm a Nigerian. Have you ever attended job interview in London or anywhere in the UK where the Interview panel change colour once they sight your passport? This happened to me on multiple occasions. Besides they're aware of the magnitude of our corrupt politicians & govt officials; they're aware of our senators & Reps awarding themselves N100 million as palliatives while 95% of Nigerians lives in abject poverty and inhumane conditions. All these anti-social developments in our country has given them the opportunity to form negative perspectives & narrations about Nigeria and anything "Nigerian". So get real & stop deluding yourself, or deceiving others.

Aren't you suppose to differentiate issues? If you are not happy with politicians, is that a reason you should not respect the code of your profession? Is that an excuse for you to exhibit indiscipline? Irrespective of how you feel about the action of the governor, is that why you should come on air to abuse the governor? Even a civilian doing that is more tolerable. Many people have abused presidents and governor on air before and whether it is appropriate or not, nobody cares or bothers. But for a soldier to come on air to do that is a grave offence. It is gross indiscipline. It has nothing to do with whether you like a politician or not. The initial victim shows better discipline and was only apologising. His case has been sorted out between the governor and the military authorities. Even if the soldiers have any ill feelings, they can only vent it out through their bosses, not to come to social media to utter abuses on anybody, how much more a governor. So when the soldier identified himself, the governor should have said since he is a soldier he should be allowed to go while the civilians are arrested? What kind of impression would have been given there? That soldiers are above the law? Is Femi Falana who is pushing for the punishment of those soldiers also doing it bcos he is an APC supporter?

    • @person9095

I don't understand jide. You said the guy isn't a soldier and not a Nigerian, so why are you giving him airtime on your station? You now turnaround chastising him as though he's in the Nigerian army.

In a saner clime an off duty soldier or policeman will not use his profession for leverage to either get a service or intimidate another person or group. But in Nigeria soldiers are always referring to others as bloody civilians and that is the height of feeling superior to any other person. It must stop.

If the law in Nigeria works, the governor should be paying a fine together with the soldier. Soldier or governor they are all serving their country and have disobeyed traffic rules at some point in the name of serving, and in the process being bad examples.

We 'bloody' civilians are being tutored that the guy is above the law. If it were a 'bloody' civilian, the LASTMA guys would have been pontificating. Being a serving soldier does not justify breaking the law. I remember when Fashola was governor, a Brigadier General was accosted in the same manner driving along the bus lane and Fashola reacted in the same manner.
One of the basic tenets of a civil and decent society is equality before the law and supremacy of the law. In the civilised countries that we are always eager to cite as examples, the law is the law regardless of who breaks it.

I wish the man who borrowed the camouflage attire should be brought to book too, he said he is from Ondo. Obviously not a Yoruba man because we give respect to our people in authority whether they are 7yrs old. The man seems to have problems with our governor saying what Ambode said about our governor which is not true. The yellow man should be traced.
