Role of Sagas were to be Nought's 5 and 6 against control, but of course you don't see those much on MTGO. Thanks for this showing, seems the deck did well some Griefs aside.
I like the UB version of this much more. The cryptic coat flipping dreadnought comes up less than you want it to, meanwhile Psychic Frog gives you such a good outlet to the extra stifle/slip effects when you don't need them, and nulldrifter is very strong. Maxtortion played a BUG version of it on his channel.
Grief is slowly becoming one of those cards that I'm tired of seeing. I understand its place, but there's no downside. It's probably my least favourite card to be printed in the last 5 years, outside of The One Ring. The powerspike in the last 5 years has been just too much. It's not even creep anymore. It spiked HARD especially in War, and then got worse as time went.
Round 4 Game 2 when you found a brainstorm at 46:27, why didn't you use the stifle it found to just jam a dreadnaught with haste from the boots and kill them?
46:33 Isn't this just play dreadnaught, stifle it, equip boots, swing for lethal? I really try to double check that I'm not missing something obvious, but you had it next turn too and never even brought it up.
Idk if you have any interest in this at all but I'd really like to see you on rarran channel or similar rating cards from other games. Could be fun for you as well!
Funny how the all-in combo matchup R1 was more engaging/entertaining than the scam matchup. Leave it to Grief to create crappy gameplay, really hope they ban it soon
are we pretending that turn one interaction on the play wasnt good enough against a lot of decks in the format even barring grief? traditional reanimator ran chancellor of the annex, delver runs all sorts of free interaction, necrodom is all in on t1 with protection
Traditional reanimator also lost to t0 interaction of Leyline more than Scam these days. Tack on an Unmask which you can Reanimate for a hard to block body, yeah. I like the concept of Grief. I don't think they should have printed it though
No but we ARE pretending that t1 interaction is the bottom line and it wasn't just a comment made by someone salty about an obviously unhealthy deck existing in the format.
Carpet of Flowers is just insane value in every island matchup. Is there a deck that can just make every matchup into an island matchup? A deck to play maindeck Carpet of Flowers + Harbinger of the Seas?

The Guilded Drake in round 5 feels like someone trying to play Aminatou. Wish we could have seen the poor deck do it's thing a little longer.
